  1. Here's a starter: http://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-suspension/187959-06-upper-rear-spring-seat-free-lowering-mod.html I'm NOT endorsing this mod. See me as a guinea pig if you like. That's why I wanted a 'spare' set to do it to.
  2. SPRING HAS FINALLY SPRUNG!! Got my Tein S Tech springs today. Also received a pair of upper spring mounts courtesy of Sir Zedmanalex, who did me a ridiculously good, unspeakable deal on a used pair after I simply sent him a link to a pair for sale on eBay asking if they were the right ones. Cheers Alex Why the spring mounts you may ask Well, the yanks seem to rave about removing upto half an inch from the rubber mounts to lower and/or even out the rear of their Zeds. I've only found positive feedback from people that have done this (maybe all the guys that 'could' leave negative feedback are in a ditch or 6 feet under). I currently have a HUGE arch gap of between 50 and 70mm, depending on how much fuel I'm carrying. The Tein springs drop the rear of the car by 15mm, which would still leave me (I think) with a considerable gap. So I plan to carry out, what the American's affectionately call the 'rear spring mount mod' and chop a bit of rubber off I didn't want to do this to my existing set, incase I fudge it up, hence the reason I sourced a second pair. I'm not going to hack half an inch off as our friends across the pond all suggest, I'm just gonna trim 5mm (it's originally 30mm) off the top and therefore effectively give me 20mm drop instead of 15mm. Watch this space....
  3. Is this due to recent peer pressure? I saw Mark's Zed very recently and considering it's done twice the mileage of mine and in some cases 3 or 4 times the mileage of other cars, it's wearing the miles very well. A credit to it's former and current owner. Look forward to seeing your developments mate, I assume you've got the N/S/R tyre sorted now?
  4. Blue, Gunmetal, Red, Silver and Black? Almost got the full Zed colour spectrum there!
  5. There's a new one listed with a BIN price of £127.20 incl P&P, so I'd assume that is
  6. My DIY vertical tonneau/boot divider After that it would have to be my wheels as they are the most noticeable, visual mod.

  8. Yeah, it's not a quick job and you do need a massive dose of patience! Mine isn't perfect, but I'm happy with how it cane out.
  9. I assume you mean the 3 at the top? I removed the dials (they're screwed and plastic riveted) and then cut around the bottom part. There is a small 'lip' in the p[lastic that I followed with a stanley blade.
  10. It is easy to peel off. As Dedman said, it's not too difficult, once you get the hang of it. I just used a hairdryer as my heat source and it worked fine. The gear/heater control surround is a good piece to get started with. It's easy to remove and the shape makes it a good piece to get some practice on. One good thing about wrapping is it's not permaneny and easily reversible if it goes belly up. Make sure you're in a tolerant, patient mood before you start and if the wrap you're using is textured, expect sore thumbs by the time you've finished
  11. OK, thanks Pete - that saved me asking a few questions!

  13. Here's mine: Start in the middle and wrap over the edges. The vinyl will stretch round the corners - heat is your friend here
  14. Thanks Pete. I'm glad you're happy with it. I bet Caroline wishes she had a coupe instead of the roadster now! OK, maybe not.... Cheer Mark Best sell your OEM one now while it's still worth something
  15. Thanks Pete They are 19's. Front - 8J ET20. No spacers but thinking of fitting 5 or 10mm just to bring them out a little. Rear - 9.5J ET40 with 25mm spacers (so effectively ET15). The offset on these is just right. Here's another pic, just for the sake of it I've ordered a set of Tein springs to reduce the mahoosive arch gap. Looking forward to seeing how it looks when these are fitted
  16. High octane - Super unleaded. Tesco Momentum or the Shell stuff that I can't rember the name of are forum favourites. Don't put regular unleaded in her. She won't thank you for it.

  20. You followed me from Stourbridge to Kidderminster and I got a cheeky flash (of the lights) from you as I turned off into my road. Didn't really catch the plate (as I'm not very good at reading backwards in my mirror and was trying to look where I was going ) but I think it was a private plate that began with 'T' Anyone?
