  1. I'm guessing your Zed is STILL damper less? I'm gonna notify the RSPCZ about you...
  2. !!!Sentimental post warning!!! I think sometimes we may all take for granted just how awesome this forum and Zed community is. I joined the (read that THE) Cliosport forum 3 days ago, as it seemed to be the place for all things Clio 172/182. I posted an intro message, just like many newbies to this site do. I introduced myself, mentioned what type of Cliuo I'd bought, along with some pics, said I looked forward to becoming part of the community and contributing to the forum blah blah blah, you get the idea. So far my post has had 90 views and 2 people have resplied and said welcome. That's not a typo, that's TWO! That just would not happen here and is why I guess so many folk stick around after moving on from their own Zed. Being part of this forum and community is a substantial additional bonus that just adds to the pleasure of owning a Zed. Such a shame other car owners and forums don't share our awesome-ness. Cheers guys EDIT: Oh, and another thing, to gain full access to the site (so access to all the guides and classifieds etc), you must PAY to become a full member. It's only £12, but still.... Another reason we are awesome
  3. Cheers Neil, I'll send you a PM once I've got 'em
  4. Yeah. They're left overs from 'bay version 1.0'
  5. This is me, next to some random Datsun three five oh, or something-or-other
  6. At a wedding this weekend Kev (don't worry, I'm taking the Zed and she'll be clean and shiny by then) Will definitely catch up soon mate.
  7. Happy birthday Kyle. Have a great day (and weekend)
  8. It's basically a 2.0 litre 180 bhp Go-Kart! So much fun.
  9. Mines not dented, but I half expect it to each time I close it! It's so flimsy! The plastic wings just make me chuckle. I can't help tapping them with my knuckle. Bodywork shouldn't make that sound! (Unless you've got a smart car)
  10. Had today off work and pretty much spent the day (after the rain) on the Clio, whilst the Zed looked on at me in the same way your other half watches you as you chat flirtatiously with the blond 20 year old girl from accounts at the office party.... Anyway. Decided to take a look at the bonnet catch and also had to replace a headlight bulb, which is a bumper off jobbie. (Pretty easy really, I was impressed). I also gave the engine bay a quick clean (read that as wiped it over with a dirty rag) and painted the inlet manifold with some silver engine enamel just to spruce it up a bit. (Think 'unloved plenum' and you can imagine what it looked like). Headlight bulb fitted, bonnet catch fixed and bumper back on it was time to give her a clean (whilst the Zed continued to look on still dirty from last weeks commute). Pics are rubbish as it was getting dark, but hopefully you can get an idea of how clean and shiny the Clio is now after a wash, clay, polish and wax. I'll take some more soon. I now understand the self satisfaction all you Kuro black Zed owners have after polishing your cars. I do however know its February, it's been raining (a lot) and it won't look anything like this, this time tomorrow
  11. Cal & Hawker, 3 more sets are on their way to me as I write this. I'll drop you a PM once I've got them, should be in next few days. This does mean I'll also have a spare set up for grabs.....
  12. Thanks for your posts Don and Mark, I'm glad they arrived safely and you're happy with them. Almeida, I haven't forgotten about you mate, you're on the list. Started chipping away at it, but the weather turned cack again!
  13. No, no ramp mate - I had to park it half on, half off a high kerb just so I could get under it to see where it was blowing from!
  14. 19.02.2014 - 97403 miles Well, to say "Thank you" for giving her a new set of seats, my Zed decided to show her gratitude by blowing a hole in her Y pipe. So after getting quotes on fitting a used one and/or sourcing a new one, the best option turned out to be having a custom one fabricated (£200 all in before you ask) And here it is: I'm really pleased with the quality of the work and also how my zorst now sounds (OEM cats, custom Y pipe and a K1). 2.75inch diameter pipe was used for the 90 degree bends and 3 inch (same as the K1) for the straight bit, which is wider than the OEM Y pipe. It has quietened the exhaust down a bit IMO, especially at idle, but the wider diameter pipe has given it a deeper and dare I say it, a more refined sound. Yes, I said 'K1' and 'refined' in the same paragraph! Just hope she doesn't choose to thank me by buggering something else up!
  15. I trained in Tae Kwon Do as well. Had to stop last year after passing my green belt grading due to a knee injury returning. I'm hoping to start training again soon, but I think the only thing I can remember are the five tenets!
  16. I thought you were happy with your rear bumper now? TBH I don't think that one will suit the Zed.
  17. Congrats on your new purchase! I was also going to congratulate you on picking the best colour, but as a couple have already, I won't mention it's the best colour.
  18. Cheers guys I've just taken it out for its maiden voyage (I was only able to tax and insure it today due to weekend opening hours of my ins co. and the post office), it's definitely a 'fun' car. I'm not sure if its simply because I'm used to my JWT popcharger and my K1, but to me, it sounds a little 'asthmatic', like its trying to breathe through a straw. Definitely would benefit from an induction kit an a 'zorst. Bugger, I wasn't going to mess.... I'm steering clear of the Cliosport forums ATM as I was happy with my stock Zed till I stumbled upon this place. I can also see how a set of coilovers would transform the car. Oh god... Already shown an Audi A4 driver up who clearly thought I was 'just' a 3 door Clio. Good times
  19. I recall Wales 2012 when Squee popped by. I think most just assumed she was some lucky forum member's better half, that just shared an interest in our cars (sexist I know) - There was a look of disbelief when she said "see ya, I gotta run" and got in her own Zed and drove off.....
  20. I wasn't keen on the chequered Renaultsport stickers either and when looking at pics of the car before picking it up, I'd decided "they're coming straight off", but they're growing on me. Jury is still out, but I think I might keep 'em. Cheers for the info. Oh yes, it's the half leather, half alcantera interior.
  21. OK so I've decided to get myself a daily runabout. Give the Zed a break from the train station and supermarket car parks. (And me a break from checking for dings, dents and scrapes every time I return). Criteria. 3 door hatch, below £2k with a little bit of poke to stop me getting bored and (fairly) economical would be nice. So I've just picked this up. 2004 Renaultsport Clio 182 with Cup pack wheels and suspension. I had a Ph1 172 many moons ago and loved it. So I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty and playing with this one. OK, so it's done 113k miles, but has been enthusiast owned, cambelt changed at 75k and has a FSH. Needs a few little jobs doing such as the heater resistor pack (common issue looking the cliosport forum) and the bonnet latch removing and cleaning up (currently filled with grease and gunk so the bonnet pops up every-so-often). There's no parcel shelf, but that's ok I'll just make a stealth shelf out of MDF and fit some phat 6x9's This may end up being a bit of a build thread, who knows. The engine bay looks so dull, I might need to add a splash of colour. Hmm, which colour....? Anyway, here's some more pics. It's crying out for some clay bar action! I've no doubt that more will follow....
  22. iLike aLot iLott Nice 'outside the box' thinking regarding your wheel nuts. I bet that raised a few eyebrows on Monday morning at work... "So, what did you do at the weekend Dan"? "I heat shrank my nuts. They're black now".
  23. I was watching that and it was at £30 the last time I looked. I was gonna have a bid to bag a bargain, then came on here while I was waiting for the auction to close and forgot! Some has got a bargain there tho.
  24. That's a bit like, if you go to your mates house for a night in, are you having a night out, or in
