  1. Got to be more than 3 letters I think
  2. I'll defiantly be over for a chat / drink but I couldn't possibly abandon my jae family.
  3. just got conformation I'll be on the plot next to 300zx, at least my z won't be all alone in a sea of Hondas again this year.
  4. Mines a 2009 car but that still makes it 5 years old..... I guess I'll start looking for a battery....
  5. It lives, battery appears to be taking charge, just took it out for a little poodle and now the chargers on and charging. AA man was only here 10 mins, 5 of them was taking pictures of the engine :-)
  6. Ok AA on the way, anything I need to worry about after the battery has gone flat?
  7. Just found the other thread, I'll probably call the aa to put a power pack on it
  8. Nope and don't intend to, it's in the garage. Cant jump either, wrong way round.
  9. I've had a bit of a search but nothing comes up of much use
  10. It appears I've left something on in the car while it's been in the garage for the past few weeks, not sure what but discovered it this morning when the central locking didn't work.. I've put my charger on it but it has a cut off at 6v, checked the battery and its showing 3v therefore the charger won't work. as far as I see it I have 2 options, call the aa and get a boost or replace the battery. Am I right in thinking that I'm likely to have knackered the battery by totally discharging it?
  11. I've also seen people tape strong magnets to the outside of their oil filters...
  12. A better option would be an hks oil filter which has a magnet built in... I know in the long run the sump plugs probably cheaper but I like that the magnet is the path of the oil flow....

    2017 Ford gt

Are they exhausts or batmobile style rockets!
  14. Hmm think there may be a 1 missing off there.....
  15. I stand corrected, 10/40 can be used as long as temps are above -18.... Go for a quality oil, Motul, Miller's, Fuchs etc.
  16. Why are you recommending moving away from the manufacturers spec oil? 5\30 is recommended and is what the engine clearences are spec'd for so why move to 10\40?
  17. Glad to hear that your happy with the results, in my opinion it's worth the money to know your cars running right with your mods and makes the eml usefull again.
  18. Octet, it went on the road. I'm not trying to dissuade people from doing it. If there hadn't been many examples of 350s that had survived fi then I wouldn't have done it without building the motor first. I'm only trying to reinforce the reality of what is being asked. If you up the power then you are going to run into reliability issues especially now the cars are getting older / higher mileage. In my view its worse for people to do it and then regret it if there are problems.
  19. It's not all about width.....so I've heard. The wider the tyre the more area to take up the load therefore it's more to do with how the weight is transferred to the tyre I.e how hard it's being pushed into the road...
  20. It's an hr. And as long as you drive it with respect you can stay on standard rubber, I'm on rays with mpss and its a bit lairy in first and second but still predictable. In the wet you just have to drive to the conditions, as you would in any high power rear wheel drive car. I am currently trying to decide what the best way to go to improve getting the power down is, dif or suspension first.... Hmm
  21. As above, the accord is also a 2.2 as well I think... so I imagine they go well. If there like other Hondas check under the boot carpet for moisture. Engines are pretty buillet proof but can be prone to using a bit of oil.
  22. That's it ..... If your out so am i !! By the the sounds of it we both are thinking down the same lines mate I am gutted but I shall still enjoy the zed for what it is .... A great , affordable sports car that sounds great , look great and goes ........ok Now what to do with my 10k I've got put aside for my supercharger ? I guess not a bad problem to have In standard form the car goes great!!
  23. You have to go into it with you eyes wide open, people ask me why I did it. Comments like "you can get a gtr for that money, or 996 turbo" etc are common, my response is always I'd have done the same to them and if my past car history is anything to go by I'd have had to rebuild their engines too..... I did it because I wanted and now I have an awesome machine that i've put my mark on, I always have and always will, I can't help it I love to mod.....
  24. The general consensus around the 350 forums is that the hr engines are capeable of handling 500hp standard. The problem you have is these are mass produced engines built to a cost with mass produced parts and unless you have owned yours from new you have no idea of how it has been treated. Before I had mine done I did allot of research and didn't strengthen the engine on the basis of this, however, I was well aware that this was a risk and knew that running this power long term would eventually lead to a rebuild. Granted it came around a bit quicker than I thought it would. As far as cost goes it would be allot cheaper to forge before you destroy the engine, the actual cost will depend allot on what you plan to do.
