  1. I've got exactly the same tyre/wheel setup as you on stock suspension, and apart from a little more steering weight at low speeds I can't really tell the difference from having the 18" rays on - car is still supremely stable at high speeds - and to be honest I think the 19's soak up a few more of the bumps. Definetly something wrong somewhere - I assume all the bushes and arms have been checked?
  2. Looking good! How's the ride on the new springs?
  3. just wished it looked like this in production: http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2455/3548097210_68306752db_z.jpg?zz=1
  4. Absolutely gorgeous cars - one of the few Beemers with a spot of flair over germanic design Be interested to hear what you think of it day to day, as its one of my forerunners when I change the Zed - see lots of reports about harsh ride quality, but not sure if that's the ususal internet myth building, or people used to french 'sofa' suspension...
  5. Like it apart from the bonnet, which may look better as carbon to add some depth to the large expanse, think you're right that the wheels need to be black as well - top effort though, it's hard to get zed's to stand out from the others on the forum
  6. Thanks Shiny new wheels keep making the rest of the car look dirty though
  7. Sold - please lock thread
  8. Sold pending payment
  9. Minor update: Finally got the 19's secured on with the right bolts and took a couple quick sanps: Really pleased, car seems to ride smoother with them on over the 18's - was worried it would smash and crash over potholes. Steering seems slightly heavier and acceleration from a standstill marginally slower but reckon I'll soon get used to that Next up, a slight drop and a nice splitter I reckon
  10. Cobra sport stainless Y-pipe, has been fitted for £500 miles at most - selling to fund my recent 19's and have a miltek on the way so don't need the seperate Y-pipe Has been wrapped in high temp exhaust wrap which has given the exhaust a sort of titanium lustre, but could be polished back up if you wanted to give it a buff. No gaskets or bolts, but recomend you replace these for fresh ones any way £145 collected from Taunton in Somerset, or £160 posted due to size and weight.
  11. I think there is a known issue with the mini's expansion tank weeping coolant when hot - can be fixed by running some sealant along the seams of the expansion bottle - depends how low it gets, as my girlfriends mini has the above issue, but it only falls to the bottom level of the bottle. If it sinks lower it may be more serious..
  12. you'e right start 20 must be EOL now, some good prices on it: http://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/17688464108756099499?q=tomtom%20start%2020&safe=active&sqi=2&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.47810305,d.d2k&biw=1362&bih=758&wrapid=tlif137103922788210&sa=X&ei=CGa4UaDxF-iM0AXqxoDQDA&ved=0CFQQ8wIwAA but,may have to put up with the windscreen mount....
  13. Among all the other projects I'm looking to replace my aging Tom Tom with one of the newer start models, 20 or 25 - question is will the 5" 25 screen fit in the pre-facelift cubby hole? or will I have to go for the 4.3" 20 model? Thanks Scott
  14. Sounds positive - sounds like Tein's then
  15. was looking for a moustache, but went with the upmarket bow tie - they're cool apparently
  16. right, now the 19's are on I reckon the car needs a slight drop - on a budget and don't think I'll track this car, so it comes down to springs and standard shocks. Question is - how much do tein's and eibachs affect the ride quality? - aware that every car I've lowered prevously has had a limited life span with its crashing and banging over pot holes and road bumps. One of the 350's plus points its its compliant ride and I don't want to lose that f I can help it, god i'm getting old! any feedback on your current set up in regards to this please?
  17. I'lljst do some research and i'll be back to you
  18. better pics to follow, when A) I can move the car, and the sun comes back out really please with them, but god damn it it needs lowering now!! - probably down to seeing Lee's black beasty (his car!) as well which sat so nicely
  19. I've been a bit slow in creating a build thread, but that's because I wasn't planning to change or mess around with stuff... Anyhoo, bought the beast as standard in Gun metal grey, uk model with the GT pack, but it wasn't long before I felt the need for a bit more grunt - Horsham tune up thread here: http://www.350z-uk.c...-so-far-review/ Once that was done it only seemed appropriate to tinker with the outside a bit to show it wasn't standard - starting off with the nismo carbon wing: and then wrapping the chin: with the onset of summer the paintwork needed a little tlc - so a full on dodo paint treatment and wax: that wraps up part 1 - I've got some 19's fitted tonight, and a couple experimental interior bits going on, but I'll update those when they're finished
  20. Just picked up my lovely new 19's (thanks Lee!) - unfortunately I've hit a hurdle as I can't get the bloomin' nuts done up as none of my sockets will slip past the recess on the wheels to engage with the wheel nut head!! Anyone else come across this? and how did you get around it please? can you get a 21mm slimline socket? here's what they look like so far done up with the tips of my fingers! (don't worry, i'm not going to drive it! )
  21. 05 plate with a carbon v2 spoiler on the back, soon to have gunmetal 19's
  22. Welcome fellow Taunton owner! keep your eyes peeled for my gunmetal grey 350z - haven't seen many other Z's around town...
  23. yep - steady 31.5mpg on long motorway run over the weekend. 'slightly' more than 70mph and a few stop start bits got me 320miles from the tank.
