Anyone know what the volume of oil is between high and low on the dipstick?
I think I recall reading on here that it's about a litre, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me.

So your car can phone home...
You don't need an antenna for that, you need a glowing finger...

Have you checked the fuses?

The picture at the top scares me!

This kit is ideal for the novice; http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb-soft-paint-polishing-kit-cat1.html all you need on top of that is a clay bar and a decent wash beforehand and a wax or sealant after really. As above, Detailing World has more information than you could ever possibly digest. There's also some good guides here too Polished Bliss.

Blackfire is a must on a black car, it gives brilliant results.

I appreciate Swiss's guide is very Impreza oriented but there's some very good general advice there too.
It's really not that difficult to do yourself, I've not managed to break anything (yet) despite doing several engine bays and I'm a complete idiot at the best of times.

The steering is one of the best things about the Zed I got in my daughter's Fiat Panda yesterday and it was like driving a car made from thistledown with a gossamer steering wheel. I know for a fact that I've got massive biceps for a girl though due to riding a horse every day. Maybe I'm just a freak
Neil, she said BICEPS...

It's to denote the difference between an FP1/2/3 service schedule and a P1/2/3 schedule.
<18,000 miles per annum follows the P schedule.
>18,000 miles per annum follows the FP schedule.
I don't know off hand what the difference is between the two, but it's in the service book - I presume the P schedule is pages 18/19, the FP schedule is pages 20/21 - but I'm far too lazy to go and look.
As far as I can remember they're both 9k intervals.

I've used a few, including Dodo Juice and Autoglym from your list - I've also tried a cleaner wax but that's it from Zymol.
I personally find the Autoglym stuff to be very similar to how you've described the Megs stuff. I do find some of their products useful and they give good results, but I prefer others.
Dodo Juice products are nice to work with and give good results, but can be a little bit pricey compared to others that do as good as job (IMHO) and the waxes don't have the durability that I'd like.
Which brings me to;
I use meguiers and I find it's pretty good but my mates civic is always sparkling and looking a lot shinier than mine. He uses poorboys polish and wax and he swears by it. Il definetly be buying some when my meguiers runs out.
I do like my Poorboys products. The Natty's paste waxes do what the Dodo Juice waxes do well but have lasted longer in my own experiences. And they're cheaper.
I tend not to stick to one brand for every step either though, as above.

Unfortunately square doesnt work for my plate!
You have only got 5 letters on your plate? Mine is 5 letters and is on one line legally spaced and BS marked to.
Sorry if I'm being dense here but doesn't that then defeat the purpose of a square plate if it's all on one line?

Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover is good at getting sticky stuff off safely.
That, or Tardis.

Rich, is this any good - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nilfisk-X-Tra-P ... 944&sr=8-1
That's the one I've got (minus the patio cleaner gubbins... and I paid more for it. ). Has currently outlasted two cars in the household and never let me down.
Just to note, the "foam applicator" that comes with it is useless, you're much better off getting a dedicated foam lance as well, it's the Kew/Alto fitting you'll need for a Nilfisk.

Great result

I have no idea where to start here, I really don't.
I have a fair idea, I just can't bring myself to form the words...

Go get a panel from the scrap yard and hone your skills before you go near your zed.
That.
Although with the clay bar, if you stick to the Megs Quick Clay (which the likes of Halfrauds sell) you can't really go wrong to be honest. Definitely worth playing with a polisher on a scrap panel before going at your car with it though.

If you do walk, let them know it's because you're not willing to pay that much for it. There's always the chance that they'll re-think their price if they're aware that's specifically why you've walked.

Plus if you pay more tax it means you have more right to be on the road and cyclists should just get out of he way!
I've corrected that for you.

Thanks! Off to get credit card
No problem. I like to avoid eBay as much as possible myself.

Mine's the same and I'm up in Hull!
No hail stones though and it's nothing a wash can't fix.
