  1. what do you mean by "mechanical issue" - wiper arm ? - 'cos those are fresh blades in there (replaced when it 1st started) - OEM ones as well

and since it both sides ..................???

From the pictures it looks to be right in the centre of each wiper, is that right? If so, I suspect the wiper isn't applying equal pressure along either of the blades. If none of the above works, and easy way to eliminate this would be to remove the blade form the arm, manually drag it across the windscreen when it's wet (use it as a squeegee as such - be careful not to scratch the glass though) - also if you do it in a different direction to the usual wiper motion, and you still get smears in the same places then it's definitely the windscreen. If, however, you're left with a clear windscreen then it's got to be the arms.

  2. Go to Opie oils, you can put in the car details and it will give you a car specific selection for normal and premium options

And there's members' discount to be had too.

  3. Personally, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole but if you do chose to view it then Ricey's advice is good.

I would advise ensuring the car is 100% perfect before handing any money over to them, they have an exceedingly poor reputation for a reason. You might be lucky and the car might be okay, but be under no illusion, if there is the slightest issue with it, that Keighley will do anything for you once they've got your money.

Make sure you check it for accident damage as well, they have a reputation for selling on poorly repaired cars (amongst other things).

  4. Jag was part of Ford until 2007. But it has been the better part of a decade, if not longer.

I know, that's why I said my car is 60% Granada. Lol

I knew that and hadn't really forgotten in the 20 minutes since I read it... honest...

  5. I think Ford have the patent for putting heating elements into a windscreen to demist.

They did, it expired a few years ago now so a number of cars now use them - such as the XKR, for example.

Mine was built in 2000 so its had it for at least 13 years

  6. S'okay Dave, some of us had noticed that the original post might've gone over a few peoples' heads.

I did think it would go this way....

Think I will start a guide to how to price your own car and not post up 'Whats my car worth' instead....

    :headhurt:

Good luck with that one. :surrender:

  7. so you're under no legal requirement to tell them and they will only jack up your premium if you did.

However, you are legally obliged to be honest (to the best of your knowledge) with your answers. Refusing to answer a question is one thing but to knowingly give a false answer is an offence.

Admitting to that offence on a public forum is ill-advised to say the least - regardless of whether you think you can easily be identified or not.

  8. I got a new Karcher 5.800 a Snow foam lance from Polish Bliss and some of that avalanche stuff

Im currently offshore but cant wait to get home and use it!

    Boys and there toys!

Avalanche doesn't foam as well as others but it does shift a lot of dirt - it's more sudsy than foamy - great stuff in terms of performance though.

  9. I had a problem similar to this a few years back when cornering left @ speed. Got black flagged for it on track. Went over the car checking every moving part & changed pads/disks, & it ended up being the metal dust shield behind the nearside brake, it was just touching the disk under extrreme cornering. But as stevo said it`s likely to be low pads.

That. Your scraping noise is probably the dust.stone guard behind either front wheel if it's just when on lock, mine did this too. Wheel off, bend the guard back slightly, wheel back on, problem solved.

  10. ok - the white spirits didn't work

I'll try methelated spirits next ?? - gotta find somewhere that sells it 1st tho

White vinegar and clean off with newspaper and also give the blades a good clean with the vinegar.

Do you eat the chips first?

Of course! You don't want chips all over your windscreen...

  11. I think poundland should be investigated as their prices have been fixed for years

Quite right Dave, BTW how much is that?

Ahhh another favourite game, asking staff in poundland how much stuff is...

    "How much is this?"

    "A pound"

"Thanks, how much if I buy 3?"

    "3 pounds"

"Thanks, what about if I buy 5?"

    "5 pounds"

Continue until a - you get bored or b - you get abuse

The Poundland round this way has developed it's own game along these lines; there's posters up outside advertising "£2 off". I really should investigate how much money I can make by shopping there.

  12. As others have mentioned, the cooler, denser air will make a difference, I don`t notice it in the zed, just fill her up when she gets low (about 250miles to a tank). But my derv is down about 8mpg since the outside temps have dropped. Only averaging 47mpg with my lead foot & 3ltr soot chucker

+1 with my Derv, i'm barely getting 40mpg at the moment :surrender:

:scare: how do you manage that David Hobbs?

He's not worked out how to change out of first gear yet.
