  1. Nope, not Mr Squee (or Mrs Squee for that matter!) Mr Squee's not even been allowed a go yet! and Im still waitin for my first wave. My friend who lives nr the city centre has a black GT4 but he doesn't 'do' Internet forums so won't participate on here! Don't know if he's the sort to wave but I'll encourage him Fodder that sounds as scary as hell! Hope you get your Zed back soon all nice and shiny. S.

    Whine noise

Any update on this? Looks like I might have an input shaft bearing problem Can't listen to the YouTube vids at the moment but will check them out later. Hoping that the three month warranty will cover it but I've been warned that warranties don't fix 'noises'. As lovely as I'm sure ZManAlex is I'm hoping I won't have to send him a PM this soon after buying my Zed! S.
  3. Yesterday evening, 'bout 5.30pm. Looked to be a UK one with personlised plate (think it had a J and a D in it?). Hopefully the owner did a double take as I was in my black GT and my chum was in his black GT4 S.
  4. Perhaps it was one of Ricey's squirrel things?! S.
  5. Bronzee - yep I'll try and get some better pics - been tipping it down today but will try tomorrow. Baggie - well I've got four house cats so it can't have been them there are a few outdoor cats in the area but I've never seen on a bonnet before but I guess if one was chasing a bird it could have happened. CMCK - could be I guess but there's no other signs that it's a bad paint job - colour of the bonnet matches the rest 100% and there's also stone chips lower down the bumper - if it were a recent paint job then surely they'd have patched them up too? Hopefully going to see a highly recommended re-sprayer/painter this week so will post up his opinions. Cheers again all S.
  6. Nice looking car OP - bet you can't wait to get your mits on it! As others have said as long as you're happy with the price paid (which you must be else you would't have purchased!) then that's all that matters. For what it's worth I bought my black 54 GT last Saturday from an independent garage and paid £8,500 (was listed as £8,995) but mine's 86k on the clock and with the Nismo kit. Coldel - I'm looking at getting the black 'Z' badges to as I think they look mint and I've been looking at the ones on ebay. Did you buy the set of two or two single ones? I don't spose you could PM me the link if you were happy with the transaction? (or just post here if that's allowed). Sorry to be cheeky! S.
  7. well they are some sexy ass curves! and there was me thinking there was bird droppings on it
  8. Looks excellent - like Steve above I'd be interested to know if it's the met black finish? Shame RT don't have a branch up here in the north west! S.
  9. Ta again for your replies Agreed Ricey - defo don't think it really can be some little scrote or a crazy neighbour as they'd have done it elsewhere on the Zed. Just still so puzzled! We've got loads of really thick wood pidgeons round here - dunno if one of those could have done something with it's beak?!? Thankfully as the mark/scratch is very near the lines of the bonnet so the eye's drawn away from it. Managed to get all my work done early today so had an afternoon driving round in my Zed (first proper time since picking it up!) and love it to pieces so much even if it does mean you get strangers coming up for a chat so yes Stanski, I'll definitely be keeping it will still point out the paint damage to the garage though just to see if I can hustle anything extra out of them. Will report back with any news! S.
  10. Cheers for the sympathy all! Thankfully the scratch does look a little worse in the pics than in the flesh (normally very hard to get pics of details on black!). It is thinner/finer than appears in the pic - too thin to be caused by a screwdriver I think - and does seem more likely to be a crack in the paintwork. There's no signs of respray and there's no variation in colour across the car and you can tell that it is a very fresh mark as the metal exposed underneath is completely clean. Steve - the paint is lifting only towards the bottom of the mark and I'm concerned that if anything gets underneath it will start to lift/peel a lot more. I'm 100% convinced it wasn't there yesterday as we had a friend round last night who assessing some minor bodywork scratches and he'd definately have noticed it. If a good respray's £300 then I could cope with that - there's the usual stone chips and minor scratches on the bonnet anyway that you'd get on a 54 plate car so would be nice to get it all perfect - just can't afford it for a couple of months and don't want the paint peeling off before then! I really don't think that it was a scumbag - I park facing the house so surely someone up to no good would sabotage the back which faces the road and is only a few foot from the pavement? Stanski - yes it was a dealer I got it from and I am going back to see them next week anyway as they're doing a couple of wheel bearings. To be fair though I don't think there's much they could say about the scratch/paint spilt as it wasn't there when I viewed and bought. Argh! S. Edit - just seen your post Coldel - I bought the Zed from a garage which sells mainly higher end stuff like Audis and BMs etc and they do seem like good enough sorts (if you can ever trust car salesmen 100%!). They had allegedly sourced the car for a potential buyer but at the 11th hour the buyer couldn't get the finance hence was put up for general sale. I very much doubt that the garage I bought it from have been up to no good but I guess I don't know the circumstances that led the previous owner to sell - maybe if they were part-exing then they'd get a cheap colour touch up to try and get more for the car?
  11. Thanks all. Steve - surprisingly for the UK summer it's been very hot today - could a mixture of heat and strong sunlight have caused a fine scratch to expand? I guess it could have been an act of vandalism but I really doubt it. I dread to think what'll happen if I caught anyone having a go at my Zed! I've been idly thinking of a bonnet respray so will have to investigate further but I know how hard it is to match black. Also won't have the pennies for some time as purchase of Zed + tax + insurance = quite an expensive month! S.
  12. Hi, I only got my Zed on Saturday afternoon and love it to bits already. However, this afternoon I've noticed a large-ish (just over two inches) and very deep scratch on the bonnet which was definately, definately not there at the weekend. I really can't figure out how it got there - I cleaned the car on Sunday and can't think how I could have done it and since then I've only been out in it once for a 15min drive on Tuesday night (would have noticed it then if it were there). Worringly towards the lower end of the scratch the paint appears to be lifting slightly. Here's a few pics showing it and also where appeared on the bonnet: I'm so upset and puzzled! Any ideas for short term damage limitation? Is cleaning it (I use Meguirs with lambwool mit) best avoided for now? Thanks! S.
  13. Thanks Thankfully the oil / air filter issues are nothing to worry about apparently BUT the mechanic wonders if there's a potential problem noise coming from the gear box...I'd just assumed that said noise was 'that' noise you get with the Zeds I think I'll take a print out from the FAQ section of the site to him to see if the noise described there matches up with what he thinks he can hear. Yikes! S.
  14. Hi, I'm a new owner too. Pretty sweet aint it?! S.
  15. Cheers all! I'm like an anxious mother tiger without my cub as I've left the Zed overnight with a mechanic mate who's gonna have a good check over it. Ricey - Mr Squee's wondering if the filter issue could be to do with a pcv valve I'm sure I'll find out when I collect tomorrow night. Glad you like the pics all. I know black can be a bugger for showing the dirt but I'm determined to keep my precious Zed all shiny. To be fair it didn't take too long to give it a decent bath (with Meguirs ) and a bit of tlc with a microfibre cloth to get it looking didn't wax as anticipated for the rain to start again so that's next on my to-do list. Had a right old chuckle when I was washing the Zed as the neighbour opposite felt the need to shout, very loudly, across the street "THOSE THINGS ARE VERY FAST AND UNSTEADY YOU KNOW?!" lol, reckon he must be a tad on the jealous side S.
  16. Hehehe, thanks Ricey. I'm taking it to a mechanic mate tomorrow for a good going over prior to taking it back to the garage later in the week where they're MOTing and replacing a couple of wheel bearings so I'm sure all will get sorted soon enough. I managed to sneak off for a mini photoshoot earlier and here's a few pics: S.
  17. Thanks Mr Squee says that there's signs of oil in the air filter and I'm not to drive the Zed again 'til it's checked out tomorrow Hopefully nothing too sinister though. S.
  18. As mentioned on the other thread, last gig was Social Distortion at Shepherds Bush Empire on Thursday night Don't know about last actual album but last CD was a few weeks ago when I bought three Tony Touch mixtapes on Amazon Marketplace. Really looking forward to testing the Bose's abilities with my new Zed S.
  19. Cheers all Really want to get the Zed all shiny tomorrow for the first photoshoot! Blimmin valeters did a very half arsed job but then I know black's a very hard colour to maintain. I'm thinking that I'll get the Zed booked in for a proper valeting/detailing sesh at the end of the month but 'til then I'm trying to think what's the best I can achieve tomorrow in a 2 hour window with whatever I can get my mits on from the local Halfords. Incidentally, has anyone taken their Zed to CLB Valeting & Detailing in Wrexham? A mate's suggested it as his Dad takes his Vantage there and they're meant to be excellent. S.
  20. Thanks love it to bits already! Will try and get some good pics up soon. Need to start looking into some good lotions and potions to get it ultra sparkly. Unfortunately the valeters at the garage left it a bit streaky - still looks as sexy as hell though! S.
  21. Going to collect my Zed in an hour! Just thought I'd share that! S.
  22. I'd be utterly amazed if the BBC hadn't indulged in a bit of 'phone hacking' themselves. I doubt they'd have gone as low as the NOTW freelancer had though. S.
  23. I travelled down from Chester to London to see Social Distortion last night - was pretty sweet Didn't rate the 7.5 hour journey back home much though! Gotta love the M1 & M6 S.
  24. Garage just called to say the zed won't be ready til mid next week and I've been sat in a traffic jam on the M1 for over two hours double !

    Club discounts

Have you asked if they'll take into account any years NCB you have as a named driver rather than in your own name (assuming you have some)? Got my insurance all sorted today with Sky - very pleased with the price and really nice guys to deal with S.
