  1. Bought my Zed as a second car. Recently my son passed his driving test and has claimed my everyday car for himself!

Now that im using my Zed most days, its a bit impractable and im spending :scare: on fuel.

Viewed a car today and was shocked by what i was offered as a trade in.

My cars a 54 plate GT in Gunmetal, Orange leather, 55k miles full service history and its totally standard and pristine.

Can anyone tell me what it should be worth?

  2. I think I will investigate the OU further, I have looked at them and requested more information from them but what they sent me was pretty pointless because it was the same info as on the website.

Stuarty, I think Scotland is a lot more generous with funding towards higher education than down here in the south. I think it would be near impossible for me to get any help because I work.

Yeah I also saw that other post. I'm looking for a change and I have to make it happen, my current job drives me insane!

Your correct about the way education is funded in scotland. I've worked for the same employer for 17 years, about 10 years ago i was giving the oppertunity to work weekends only and still receive my full salary. As i was training in a sport i jumped at the chance as i could train full time monday to friday.

After around 4 years i decided to return to University. I enroled in a 5 year full time MSc degree. I finished in may this year and it didnt cost me a penny. I was even reimbursed with my travel expenses. Furthermore i'm still employed weekends with my employer and working elsewhere Mon to thurs.

  3. Open University!

I stay in Scotland and a few universities up here offer courses validated by the OU.

If you have access to one of these Universities, there are lecturing staff employed to help you out. Also you attend these uni's to sit exams and assessments.

In Scotland we have a funding body for part time students called the independent learning authority (ILA), they can pay something like £400-£500 per year towards your fees. Not sure about south of the border, as higher education funding is different up here.

  4. Sorry if anyone thinks i may have hijacked this thread, i only commented on the price. It was the seller that tried to make me appear stupid.

I really hope the seller sells there wheels. Its like everything in life, somethings are worth more to others.

Ive paid silly money for things in the past and i know friends thought i was crazy, but at the end of the day if it is what you want, you'll pay for.

  5. thanks for the information guys, seems like they are over priced, although i find it weird how it can be accepted a set of rays can be put on the market for 800quid and a set of these LMGT4's are valued at 400quid by a halford shopper :headhurt:

not worth selling less than 1200quid though

1200quid new price, in no rush to sell

    thanks[/quote

I replied to this comment, but for some reason the mods have not approved it.

I'll try again! What I mean't was that I simple dont think they old wheels are worth the money, considering that I was offered a brand new set of 18 inch rays for £600 +pp last month.

Furthermore their are really good quality wheels out there for around £600-£700. I'm no wheel expert but I simple dont think the nismo wheels are any better than the optional Rays.

Finally, may I make it crystal clear that I have never stepped foot in a Halfords store, never mind viewed there range of alloy wheels.

If you can provide me with a good reason why the Nismo wheels are better quality than the Rays, I'll stand corrected.

  6. I cant beleive anyone would pay that kind of money for those wheels, im not joking i cant get over it.

I think they look like a set of multi fit cheap wheels covered in corrosion! I honestly wouldnt pay anymore than £400 for them, when you look at the new wheels you can get for around £600.

I know there nismo but so what!

  7. Seems a bit of an odd question to be honest bud.........its a bit like asking if you should get a normal 3 series coupe or an M3.

Anyone who could afford the M3 is going to get it because its obviously going to be a far better car! :bangin:

Not really that odd a question mate. The difference between a normal 3 series coupe and an m3 is vast.

Not really a big difference between 3.0l coupe and z4 m coupe in performance, price or looks! Most reviews ive read have suggested that the extra 10k on list price is simply not worth it.

Its probably more like comparing the new 335i coupe and m3. ;)

  8. Going on holiday to Turkey today. 45 mins into flight pilot said there was a technical problem with the plane and we would have to return to Manchester. Got within 15 min of Manchester and pilot said we would have to fly around coast of England to burn up 1500kg of fuel as we were to heavy to land. Anyway after flying around with our landing gear down to increase drag and use more fuel we landed in Manchester only to find fire engines etc waiting for us to land.

Still sitting on the plane after 2 hours none the wiser!

  9. where do you find that data ?

My very first brand new car after I got married - an N reg - looking to see if i can purchase the plate, but don't know if its still being used[/

If you type your old reg into the selling a car section on autotrader it fills in some of the data for you, this includes make, model and year. ;)

  10. I know you guys are saying these could be over priced but give Nissan a call and ask how much one rim is with no tyre I bet you won't get change from £4000 for a set I recently bought a brand new Rays costing £1030+ vat with no tyre (Ouch)

There was a brand new ray alloy sold on ebay yesterday for £75!!
