  1. Azure 350Z plate ending "KKR" and Black 370Z private plate "V6 - - - " both spotted in Lincoln, just off the town centre at 3:30pm on Sunday 17th July. Saw a sunset too, didn't remember the details though. Have seen the V6 plate around quite a bit, am going to try and flyer you this week if you're not on here!
  2. Black 350Z parked up on the side of Walsingham Road, just outside Enfield Town Park. Saw your car at about 6pm today, looking in great condition. Didn't have any flyers on me at the time though
  3. You'll do very well to get it all delivered for less than £375 IMO. The prices have gone up for the new model, I got mine through Japex. They ordered and fitted it for me for £390 all in. Thanks again Japex
  4. My exhaust failed in the same spot recently and it was the second time it happened - the first time was a year ago when I fitted a used back-box. I got a Scorpion a few weeks ago and it sounds great, they're about 375 notes delivered. Muted enough at low revs pootling around but throaty when you give it the beans. The best bodge is to cut off the flange and weld a new sleeve on and will probably cost between £50-100 - the OEM exhaust is mild steel so it will weld if it isn't too rotten. Expect to do it again in a year or less though.... Great advice, totally agree with this. Do it, get the Scorpion...you won't regret it!
  5. Lens and BT Adapter sold. If anyone wants the cradle PM me Dan
  6. These 3 are selling tonight at 1900 if anyone is interested: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/dp7657/m.html?_n ... ksid=p3686
  7. It's not listing fee's this guy is avoiding, it's the final value fee, which is a percentage of the final sale price excluding postage. I wouldn't be suprised if ebay pulled this ad....... Yeah, agreed. If everyone did it I imagine they would end up just putting a cap on postage. Got to love the audacity of his attempt here though
  8. I got myself a pretentious plate from the DVLA too, was pretty suprised that I could get it for £250 so I snapped it up. On another note, the private plate "007" lives on a Rolls Royce down my road...I have always wondered how much that one is worth?!
  9. My exhaust went too...sounded very grizzly after the rear gasket weld came loose. I went for the Scorpion replacement / upgrade. All in was £390 (inc fitting) so IMO a pretty good move. The Scorpion exhaust looks great and the sound is brilliant compared to the OEM. It sounds better when you put your foot down but is a lot quieter when on the motorway / cruising etc. A cheap fix will just need re-doing at some point anyway...
  10. I still grin every time I drive mine too, even when I wash it
  11. Mate, I'd be VERY careful about claiming on the insurance. I'm with Elephant (same company as Admiral) and I made the mistake of claiming when my last car got broken into. It would've cost me about £500 to fix it all myself but the absolute BS of rental cars, respray nonsense etc made the total claim come up to around £3000 (utterly ridiculous amount) so the next year my insurance renewal practically doubled (I was 22 at the time). It's back to normal now but I would think seriously before claiming. P.S. Nice Azure
  12. I'm all for that, eBay make a KILLING on fees, every credit to him for his initiative I say
  13. Alex - thanks, yeah I did read it but didn't think I had actually been that stupid... Yes - I was that stupid, must've pressed it during my interior cleaning session I had totally forgotten about that button! Having read around the subject this morning it seems as I can join a long list of us who have thought our window was broken only to realise it was locked Thanks guys!
  14. Has anyone tried squeezing through a 7 ft width restriction in the Zed? I've never had a problem with the things and am more than happy to do a normal width (7 "7) restriction in it but I had to shy away from a 7 yesterday, I believe that gives about 2 inches of room on each side?! Didn't fancy it myself, wondered if anyone else has been brave enough? ( Why do Bromley council feel the need to put these super narrow restrictions in anyway?)
  15. Damn, I was hoping it wouldn't come to this solution so quickly I'm going to give it a day or 2 of hoping and praying and then I'll probably get back to you on the new motor. Thanks
  16. Not sure actually, you'd have to ask someone else about that. If you find out that you can I'd love to know how to do it too! I have a feeling the answer might be no though because that would mean having the mic wired into the HU somehow... Yeah, the 840 looks nice, basically identical to the 740 but with no buttons. Word of warning, I like the no buttons look too but using a touch screen whilst driving is quite fiddly...but to be fair I have to do that still with the 740 so the 840 is probably a better bet. I set the buttons and lights on my HU now to orange so they match with the dash in the Zed. It looks pretty smart so if you're looking to save a bit then I'd say there's not much difference between the two. I quite want that one now haha
  17. Hi guys, that time of the month again where something in the Zed wants to stop working... The passenger side window has died completely, doesn't respond to either controls (fortunately it has stopped in the fully closed position). I was cleaning the windows and interior yesterday and think some cleaning spray may have got down the gaps and possibly into the electrics unless it is a total coincidence that it broke after that. I'm hoping it might dry out and start working again but fear it probably wont. Any advice for a good place to get it checked / get new parts? Thanks, Dan
  18. No, that's the beauty of it. You get to sell the car bluetooth unit to help with the new purchase It made me feel a lot better about the purchase too. From my experience though, the built in mic in the car is a lot better than the one I have had fitted with the new HU. Not a massive problem but the OEM one was quite good, people could always hear me clearly below 60mph...now I get a lot of "are you driving?" / "I can't hear you" comments...oh well, the improvement of the HU from the OEM one outweighs this IMO.
  19. As I say, haven't experimented with the finer settings etc much yet so I'm not sure on that one. So far I have just been controlling it on the HU, not sure if it's possible to control from the iPod too (I've left the manual for it at work so can't check that). It can be a bit fiddly controlling it all from the HU so an iPod control option as well would be good, I'll look into that. Would like to think that the guys at Car Audio Centre should be able to answer that for you too, I asked them loads of stuff before I got mine.
  20. Do the steering wheel controls still work the same? Yes, still have full use of the volume and track change buttons. The bluetooth steering controls however don't work now. But with a 7 inch touch screen to press instead to answer the phone, it's really not an issue in my opinion! Does the bluetooth work the same? Yes, I can still make and receive calls handsfree. It is a lot better to be honest because in the phone section of the Head Unit I can now automatically see all of my iPhone's contacts and simply press a name to call one. Voice activated calls work too although I've not had much time to experiment with that stuff yet. I don't think the microphone with the JVC is quite as good as the factory installed one I had but that might be due to where I positioned it (tucked in behind the rear view mirror). Does the headunit charge an iPod/iPhone whilst connected? Yes. It has USB 2.0 rear connection which means it will charge / run USB devices on its own. You simply plug the iPod / iPhone white Apple USB cable into the JVC's rear USB output wire and its all set to go. Can you connect an iPod/iPhone and get it to charge but not listen to it? (My current headunit will charge my iPhone but only if I listen to it) Yes, once you've plugged the iPhone / iPod into the USB connection you don't have to listen to it. The main screen on the HU shows the multiple device options to use (Tuner / USB / iPod / phone / DVD / CD etc) so you can listen to the radio or watch a DVD while your iPod / iPhone is charging, no problem. Have you got it connected to the standard Bose system or haver you installed anything else? It's all connected into the Bose Amps + speakers. One of the cables that you need is the one that specifically matches this stereo (or some others too) to the Bose set up. As far as I am concerned the sound quality from the Bose stuff is pretty good and I don't have £000000s to play with so it was only ever going to be the HU that I changed. Feel free to ask any other questions you might have mate, happy to help!
  21. Just for closure, so anyone can search for this information in future I did go for the JVC KW AVX 740 in the end. If anyone wants any info on the unit etc then feel free to ask. Here it is fitted, looks pretty good I think and the face is detachable: Does everything I need (phone handsfree, ipod, iphone, dvd, usb and usb video) and works fine with the following parts from Car Audio Centre who gave me a good service and let me haggle on price a bit (steering stalk control loom, JVC adapter loom and a radio adapter which doesn't actually seem to be needed at all so don't buy that): 1 x AIS2260 £30 1 x ASC2674 £40 1 x AAN2114 £5 and the Fascia 50-236 - £14.99 Had it fitted by a guy near me, PM me if you want his number. Gave me a fantastic service, is a very qualified and friendly guy and charged about half the price of any car audio shop I spoke to Dan
  22. Got mine at 45,000 miles, the clutch biting point was pretty high then and hasn't moved at all as far as I can tell and I'm coming up to 48,000 now. The clutch is very firm and has a lot of travel, seems fine though.
  23. You came to the right place and are searching for the right car In the early days I sometimes found it easier to search this site via google...used the keywords etc in google and included the web address in the searches. Everything is here somewhere though...
