Hi to everyone on the forum and already a big thanks to those who have helped me with some of my rookie issues!
Thought I'd introduce myself to the club before I pester with problems.
Bought my 2004 350Z GT two weeks ago and have loved it every day since then. Quite an improvement on the Vauxhall Corsa I am now selling...(2005/1.2 Sxi/Black/£3250 PM if interested)
Here it is anyway (quite into photography too):
Here are my current thoughts / plans / issues / background:
1) Have a buckle in front passenger OEM Rays alloy to get straightened + refurbished somewhere in the North (ish) London area. Have been quoted £160 for the job, might consider selling the damaged wheel and buying a new one...
2) Have Nexen N6000 245/45/R18 (nearly new and fitted by previous owner, damn it) on the back and Bridgestone RE040 225/45/R18 on the front. I want to replace the old Bridgestones (barely legal tread) with Falken 452s 245/45/R18 and then put them on the back too, does that sound like an OK plan?
3) Need to buy a Bluetooth Adaptor as I only have the cradle - Have sent a PM and checked eBay, will get one there unless anyone wants to sell one?
4) Can't decide whether to go for Satin / Chrome / Black 'Z' badges to replace the OEM front and rear ones. Welcome advice / photos of other GM Grey Zeds with their badges.
5) The Bose CD changer seems to HATE my CD-Rs and skips a hell of a lot. I'm hoping to get a new head unit with iPod and USB inputs some time soon and would appreciate any advice on that - don't really want to break the bank, £200 ish would be nice.
6) I have a high pitch whirring type noise which sounds as if it is coming from behind me when I drive (very high pitch, not too loud though). The noise is fairly constant throughout RPM / speeds / gears etc. I have been told that's fairly common in the Zed but my hearing is picking it up quite clearly so it's driving me crazy at times!
Thanks to all of you who have already helped me, I don't expect answers to all of these questions and still have a bit of reading to do on some too. Just wanted to say how brilliant this forum is and hello to all!
Dan
