  1. ohhhh. ive been interested in buying an auto with the works shifter. but as i have read it - it only relocated the ability to shift, not actually speed anything up. so from that point of view - how slow are the gear changes at the moment with the stick? i understand its not going to be anything like as quick as the new s3/golf r/370z/gtr/m3 gearboxes - but is it any good?
  2. i have had in excess of 50 cars in the last 5 years. - bought and sold. ive only actually 'owned' about 7 - and all them i lost money - including my current s/c zed that blew its engine, caught fire and destroyed itself... so hopefully i've broken even... just.
  3. yes, I have already looked at hard wiring a extinguisher system to minimize damage next time!
  4. Theres no other car that comes close for the money/performance/drive. However i am debating if i should build a vortech 350z, or buy an 370z / Evo X....
  5. oh where to start... 1st one i got cut up on a entry slip to dual carridge way - that was sent to the zed shed for work and the black donor kebab zed was born. then i sold the donor kebab one to fund a route 66 trip. then i bought another last year with 152k miles just to go ring in which was fine. and then this one...
  6. Story - This WAS my HKS supercharged 350z. Took it ring about 2 weeks ago, performed 6 laps on the wednesday faultlessly. on the thursday - drove down to ring - let my mate go for a lap (hes also got a 350z so wasnt worried!!!) i was in the passenger seat - came through pflantzgarten (about 4 corners before the end) - heard a bang, suddenly the cabin filled with smoke... pulled over after a car going past waving/pointing at us frantically but confused about what he was pointing at? as i got out the passenger side i saw what looked like a blown tyre and was like - oh thats not bad at all - a little inconvinient maybe. at which point my mate pointed at the wheel/brakes and said "no its not - its on fire!" - thinking he as refering to the brakes being so hot they were smoking. I then looked under the car and it was just pure flames. without a fire extinguiser i just stood there and watched it burn - after watching so many films about cars that explode it was a very odd feeling knowing that both our passports and cash was in the car too - and knowing i had to go get them whilst it was on fire!! about 30 seconds later a marshall pulled up, jumped out and started putting it out with his fire extinguisher. Luckily it didnt completley explode and was 'saved' somewhat. Track was shut for half hour though. So apologies for anyone who was there on the thursday about 10am!!
  7. When i first saw this i was like "theres no way thats going in there!" well done!!
  8. When I saw the car it reminded me of something. I just couldn't quite work out what... until my co-worker nailed it... it looks like a ladies toy...!!!!
  9. :O that was my black donor kebab zed!! oh the memories!
  10. I found my japspeed K2 to be pretty damn good. or a bunged k1. Just take the bungs out when you want to go for a hoon.
  11. I'm sure I can add it onto my forever growing Zed Shed list....
  12. Hi guys, can anyone shed some light on this. www.shop.cae-racing.de/index.php?s=3〈=eng have seen them on meganes/posches and a lot of users say they are amazing to use. Anyone know of anyone that has fitted one as there doesn't seem to be an option of Nissan? Cheers.
  13. really depends is if money is of any issue. If you've got money to burn, go for it.
  14. well on my next ring trip I plan to cycle round the track so could do with one of these! sadly that's not for 2 years!
  15. Rocket bunny kit is a bit OTT IMO. I think the gt4 will always command a premium, and for that reason I would leave it standard. if I was going to smash arches on a car, it would be a standard one I think.
  16. why not just buy replacement front arches and cut away at them? then when you do come to sell it put the standard ones back on?
  17. new engine is 2k fully fitted
  18. Berk Decat pipes for a DE - fitted to a '53' plate. fitted 11,000 miles ago. changed back to standard system. £100 collected from hemel hempstead / watford, Hertfordshire.
  19. Japspeed K1 came with the car - changed for a standard system. fitted 11,000 miles ago. £150 ono collection from Hemel Hempstead / Watford, Hertfordshire
  20. ill make a thread about my experience this year soon. it did involve a complete red flag / track closure and bongard membership.....
