  1. @ Ian / Chris, I'm not an expert, but how safe is the solution for the propshaft bracket? We're talking about serious power here, if that fails, might cause serious damage to whoever is inside the car at that moment in my modest view. Worth adding some lateral reinforcement / support on it?
  2. Yes, Sept / Oct probably, perhaps prices will go down a bit as the weather becomes worse. Might happen even earlier, depending on how soon I sell the 370z and the rest of the parts
  3. Found some comprehensive info here: http://www.hartech.org/docs/buyers%20guide%20web%20format%20Jan%202012%20part%205.pdf
  4. Going to watch it now, completely forgot about it
  5. Yes, but worried a bit now... I think I'm just going to risk it
  6. Yes and no, Coldel. You don't need more power for the day to day driving. When you're in play mode, inevitably you get to 5800rpm
  7. Yes, that would give you great savings, but very, very rare...
  8. Then add new brakes to stop the car & suspension to put the power down He only said how to get to that power TORQEN L BBK - £2599 TORQEN S coilovers - £679
  9. If the 370z was sold, I would have got the GTR already, I want something to play with while I'm getting the 370z ready for sale, brand new paint, sell the twin turbo kit, exhaust, fuel return system, injectors, fuel rails etc
  10. £7-8k inc fitting and tuning will give you over 400bhp on the 350z DE http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/93357-torqen-350z-de-03-06-vortech-v3-sci-custom-supercharger-kit/
  11. I still have a 370z, why buy a 350z?

  13. "So what can be done to minimize the likelihood of an IMS failure? Although a greatly debated subject, most experts agree that more frequent oil changes every 6 months or 5,000 miles is a good first step. Secondly, actually driving your Porsche more often and avoiding higher gears to keep the revs above 2500-3000 rpm is another good step to take to improve the life of the ball-bearing in the intermediate shaft. Although there is limited data, the general trend is that lower mileage vehicles with infrequent oil changes or driven light-footed (as in run at low speed/engine rpms) are most likely to suffer a failure rather than those cars that are driven hard and well-maintained. Lastly, use of premium engine oil such as Motul’s 8100 X-Cess 5w40 (which is a Porsche approved oil) or Joe Gibbs DT40 can also provide added protection to all critical engine components." Hmmm... So don't buy from "1 previous lady owner" but from racing boys"? I'm being put off by the Porsches now
  14. Be honest Darren, how many you had tonight?
  15. Me too, is not going to be a keeper
  16. Great advice, thanks a lot Dan! A lot to look into! This is the one I'm going to look at: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201504303064724 Don't want to spend too much, is only going to be a toy for a very short period.
  17. Ekona is writing, I can feel it coming!
  18. It's Darren's fault, I swear!
  19. So, I went to help Darren on his 240z today and before I shoot home, we went for a quick blast where I got to drive the Porker. Must say, quite impressed with the power and the handling of the Boxter S for such a small car. Didn't take long, but decided I want to try the bigger brother for a few months, the Cayman S, before selling the 370z and the rest of the parts and buying the GT-R R35. Had a look on PH, AT and EB, found one I like (2 prev owners, 70k miles, good history etc), so going to test drive it on Monday, with Darren I never thought I'm going to do this, but hey, looks like it's happening. So, Ekona, help a brother out, what else do I need to look out for, what sort of problems? Couldn't help not looking at this, but don't think I'm going to bother http://www.softronic...er-package-plus
  20. Wasso, are you watching this?
