New 350Z owner in North London, Hi all

That's pretty much where I am I have just ordered two satin badges too, need them for the 14th May . -
Sorry I haven't got back to anyone, completely forgot . PM's sent.

That's not very good, do you do a lot of town driving? I average 21 mpg with a supercharger with a mixture of town and A-roads and I'm not light on the throttle. A lot of town driving...A lot of the journeys are 5 mile runs here or there so no time to stick it in 6th and sit back. If I do a 50 mile drive and reset the trip computer, I think it may get to 26mpg+ .

I'm from NW London, where about are you? I asked myself about Z badges and everyone seems to have different opinions. I'm going for some satin ones as they match the "350z" badge and then if I decided to I will add a Tommy K badge to the back. In my opinion, I can't see a black badge looking as good on that colour of car. I think satin would look great though. You can pick up the odd rays wheel from eBay and the like sometimes at a bargain price so look around. Check out some of the meets coming up, there's a few big ones coming up soon where you will see loads of zeds to get an idea. viewtopic.php?f=57&t=44484 few tickets going from members who can't make it. -
I haven't reset mine for about 500+ miles and it has averaged out at about 22mpg . Then again, my old 1.6 Fiesta averaged at 28mpg as I had to floor it to get it up to speed, also I drove that car pretty aggressively.

Cheers, I'll have to give it a go.

I've heard they can be bought on eBay for far less, never tried one though. They will probably be an encrypted disc, so a simple burnt copy from a computer won't do much. To be honest, I've never had a problem with my Birdview system. I like the original stereo system too, so the hassle of changing the satnav will be a pain in the rear...

The previous posts pretty much nail it for info on the car. I'm 23 an had my car since February. It's a 2007 car so cost a bit more on insurance than yours will. I pay about £700 for insurance and my cars before this one were a Clio and Fiesta Zetec S so no performance car experience. I do tend to live in a part of London which isn't too bad, except there has been a huge increase of arson lately around here. In my opinion, get a GT model unless you aim to completely modify the interior, it's well worth it.

I think you over inflate them to stop the wheel literally folding over the tread if the tyre and causing them to come off the rims. That happened to me on my road bike a few weeks back . I'd also have thought under inflated tyres would cause more heat, as more thread is in contact with the road at any one time.

Same issues here. I live opposite an open field and next to a main road so I get attacked by dust and pollen. I park under trees at work so more pollen there too .

I need to clean up the car under the bonnet. I have used an all purpose cleaner to do the bulk of it but there is a thick grime on most of the metal work, hard to describe but it I'd almost like the consistency of dried toothpaste . This shows a clean section under some trim next to a dirty section: Undiluted APC won't even help lift it and I've tried bug/tar remover to no avail. Any ideas? Also, what can I use to get the black trim under the bonnet back to as new as possible? Cheers

The red and White one is awesome. Any chance of having these for Japfest?

Looks like an awesome way to spend a day or two. I wouldn't have the guts to do it in my car though , I'd love to have a go though.

Whilst it isn't the sort of thing I would do to my car, I love the look of it. The paint is awesome .

Well I managed to get hold of some bonnet dampers free from someone I know from a local parts shop who is selling up and moving abroad. They are the same as the ones sold all over eBay (in fact I think he sold/sells a lot of them on eBay too). Easy job, they are a little shorter than I would prefer, but I can mess around with them and get the bonnet open a bit more. Still opens enough to do the basics which is all I need. Not found a guide for these, it's an easy job for for those who are interested: Tools needed: 10mm spanner/socket 12mm spanner/long socket Flat screwdriver Firstly, I took off the trim, you have to take out the trim clips which pop open with a screwdriver and then pull out. Then, you need to install the bracket provided in the kit. Pretty straight forward job to do, just whip out the bolt and voilà . Just be careful when nipping up the bolt as the bracket and twist into the paintwork. The bracket can be slide around for the best position, keep it as far away from the paint work as possible, otherwise you can see it when the bonnet is shut, which I found out after doing the job and it really didn't look good. For info, you need to use the hole pretty much opposite the battery: Now for the bonnet attachment. You need to take off the nut which attaches the bonnet to the hinge. No picture, but it needs to be the lower of the two bolts. I used a couple of washers here, simply to give it that little more height when the bonnet is open. Connect the damper to the bracket on the wing of the car using the retaining pin to lock it into place. I did this on both sides and then connect the two on the bonnet. Attach retaining pins and done. No finished pictures I lost about an inch of height in the bonnet opening, but much prefer it and I find you don't need to drop the bonnet from as high to shut it. Hmm, the car needs a wash too While I was under the bonnet I literally pulled out a whole pigeon's worth of feathers from the radiator . EDIT: Damn , this was supposed to go into the guides section.

As Martin has said, I will be dishing out the tickets on the day to everyone. I will get an up to date list of everyone from Martin as close to the show as possible. I haven't got the tickets through the post yet, but once I do, I will repost here so everyone knows their tickets are safe. Like Martin has already asked, try and be at the Premier Inn as close to 0700 as possible, many of us have a good two hour or longer drive so I can appreciate some may be later, however the more we get in one spot, the easier it is for the bulk of us to get sorted out and inside as I can imagine it may be quite busy. Also, for everyone's info, I can't post my personal mobile number on a public forum (work rules), however, if you think/know you won't be at the Premier Inn for 0700, please PM me and I can send you my mobile number through that. I can print out the PM or make a list so I know who will be late and need to be met at the main gate . Also, just a reminder that all the major road networks for miles around will most likely have mobile Gatso cameras and Traffic Police out in force.

Looks fantastic. The last time I went to the states I put on over a stone in a week due to the diet I was on . -
classic. In reality, these lashes are beyond sad...

Do we have to do this every time we start the ignition?

The car has done just over 33k, I bought it with about 1k less so I've done enough miles to get used to the car. Hill starts aren't an issue (thank God as I got stuck on a slope in a car park today). When I get some time to myself I'll have to take it out on a good hour long drive and report back.

I've noticed over the last week that the car doesn't pull away off the mark like it used to. I keep feeling that the biting point is higher than before and if I'm not careful it stalls. Now this isn't every time I pull away and is happening most dying the first 15-20 minutes of driving. I'd it simply the car needing time to warm up at bit? I'm wondering if now I'm more at home with the car since getting it I may be taking it easier on the accelerator when pulling away. Today as I pulled away it took a good few seconds to get the power on and I hade to gingerly lift my foot off the clutch. Should I just up the revs a bit when pulling away from cold? A bit strange really but I'm hoping it isn't a warning sign that the clutch is on it's way out... Pete

2000/3000 grit would be wet and dry paper. You can pick them up for 50p-£1 a sheet from most DIY stores. I did my front lights with my DA and it worked fine.
