  1. Hi all, Just a quick question, I'm wondering if somebody can advise? As my handbrake seems unreliable, I always leave my car in first gear when parking up. A couple of times (whilst music was playing), I forgot the car is still running and release the clutch and end up stalling the car after hearing a loud engine thud. I assumed the car is switch off so just release the clutch to get out of the car. I'm still not used to leaving the car in first gear! I'm just wondering if this causes any harm to the gearbox, clutch or engine? When it stalls, the engine does make a loud noise and leaps forward...
  2. LOL! I should have explained why before I asked I'm purchasing some Di-noc 3M carbon fibre vinyl to wrap my B-pillars. Thought I would ask in this thread seeing as it's one of the most relevent threads to post in, rather than starting a whole new thread. Many Thanks, Hassan Have a look at this link, scroll down and see mine. not worth the effort doing it yourself get rtbiscuit to do it. first class service. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=47272&hilit=b+pillar&start=15 Thanks for the advice mate! I've had a look, his work does look fantastic! I will definitely consider getting it done. I've had a lot of experience at work applying vinyl to our courtesy cars so I thought I'd give it a shot myself and save myself some money...but I don't want to ruin it either!!
  3. I really appreciate your help Does that mean I'd need either 25cm by 10cm in total for both pillars or 2 x 25 by 10? With regards to the weave line direction, I would probably want them both to be going the same direction on either side to make it look more standard. I may even consider getting you to do them for me your work looks brilliant!! Will the B-pillar you provide be in mint condition and a genuine part? In the future I may end up removing the vinyl so I would need them to be in mint condition. Do you sell the vinyl on its own (enough for both B-pillars)? Your help is very much appreciated. Hassan

  5. Could somebody please help me...I am after the measurement of the 350z B-pillars. I thought I'd ask here before I decide to go out with a measuring tape. Appreciate your help guys Hassan
  6. I've been considering using one of those...what's the sound quality like? Do I need to get a specific type? Thanks, Hassan
  7. Hi mate, I have a standard exhaust system for sale (44k mileage) if you're interested? PM me. Many Thanks, Hassan
  8. How much were the brushes?
  9. Ah..thank you guys for clarifying this for me Luckily I didn't buy it otherwise I would have wasted my money! I got excited thinking now I don't have to stick to the 6 CDs that's been in there ever since i bought the car and can listen to music of my iPhone! So the bluetooth module does not do anything other than store numbers and transmit phone calls to/from a phone. Many Thanks, Hassan
  10. Hi everybody. I was just looking at purchasing the Bluetooth I O Play device. Are these any good? Would they work with my existing Bose stereo and bluetooth module? I have never heard of these before so don't want to purchase it if it's a waste of time! When you play music through this device, what is the quality like? Does any body currently use it in their Zed? Is there a lot of preparation work necessary to get this to work? I appreciate your help guys and I apologise for the million questions! Hassan
  11. £125 a wheel is a lot of money in my opinion. I got mine done at a fraction of that price!
  12. Thanks mate, I've sent you 2 e-mails...
  13. Yes I'm guessing they're mine (even though the images aren't showing up due to Photoshop's technical difficulties!). Those pictures don't do justice. I took some better pictures of the wheels over the weekend after I washed them for the first time, they looked unbelievable!! You can see the sparkle in the images created from the sunlight. As soon as Photobucket is up and running, I'll post the pictures up. If you're impatient, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send them to you via e-mail.
  14. I refurbed my RAYS 3 weeks ago. The colour used is 97M on a light silver undercoat. A lot of metallic was added so it sparkles distinctively in the sun. If you are interested, I can get you a price that will be way lower than what you've been quoted You are not that far away also... I will upload some photos when I get a chance (Photobucket is down due to site maintenance at the moment)
  15. OMG How do people even make money from these!!???
  16. Oh man!! I paid £2.14 for mine! I guess you got the best deal at 44 pence cheaper...that's one lost packet of crisps for me! Link is as follows: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0301648089 Thanks to was8v for sharing!
  17. Yep that's probably one of the reasons... Does hard driving cause the calipers to chip also? It's also weird how the Zed's Brembos overall seem to be in mint condition compared to other car's brake calipers
  18. Hi all, When I was searching for my Zed, I went to see a few. I noticed some brake calipers were spotless and some calipers were chipped and in overall bad condition. Why is it some calipers get damaged more than others? Does it depend on the way the cars been driven? The mileage? Thanks guys, Hassan
  19. Thanks lads for the great find and sharing this info with fellow members! I have just ordered myself a tin on an impluse from the link was8v posted Appreciate your help
  20. Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy with family during the past few days. Thank you so much for all your advice Chris, Tim, Dblock, Ricey and Peter!! I have taken all of your advice and decided to go for a Kestrel as its the cheaper option than the G220 and on the description it mentions: 'The DAS 6 offers an ideal introduction to machine polishing, it’s dual action is safer for novices and far less aggressive than a standard rotary polisher. Ideal for removing minor scratches and swirls, the DAS6 provides superior results over hand application. The DAS 6 is fully compatible with Pads and Backing plates for the Meguiars G220 and the Porter Cable 7424.' That is exactly what I was looking for! Now is there anyone that could point me in the right direction of finding a cheap one? The best price I have found so far is £84 including delivery. Also, can you please advise me on the correct pad and compound to use? I'm after something that will remove light swirl marks but not be harsh enough to damage my paintwork. Is there any places I can purchase them from? Your help is very much appreciated Kind Regards, Hassan
  21. Thanks for your reply Chris So what you're saying is your polisher is probably made by the same company as the Sealey ER1700P but just been re-branded? The ER1700P does not mention anything about 'hot spots' or doesn't use the word 'orbital', what does that mean? One massive benefit about the ER1700P is that it's very light weight apparently (2.2kg). what is the 'normal' weight of a typical polisher? I've never used a machine polisher before and fear of damaging my paint if I used something too 'sophisticated' for me. Does it matter what make it is or do they all do the same thing? I really appreciate your help Kind Regards, Hassan
  22. Thank you for your reply. Yes Sealey does seem to be focused more on the trade rather than the consumer. I've tried searching all over the internet for reviews on the product with no joy Either I get a Sealey one really cheap or get something like a Meguiars G220 which looks more or less the same as the ER1700P. I have dropped Tim a PM, hopefully he wll have some experience with them! Thanks again for your reply Hassan
  23. I've looked at the following Sealey model numbers: ER1700P ER230P ER150P ER1512P CP2518 Are any of these good?
  24. Hi all!! I am planning to purchase a waxer/polisher/buffer today but it can only be made by Sealey due to work reasons. I am looking for something that is safe for my paintwork, as I don't have any experience in machine polishing any of my cars. I want something that will not end up taking my paint off but effective enough to remove swirl marks/blemishes. Any suggestions? A model number/name would be great! Your help is very much appreciated. Hassan
