  1. I'm not a boy but i think it would look good on a Fiesta Oh I love Fiesta's.... My dream car! LOL you sure you ain't a boy?? Show us a photo to prove it Especially after reading your post in another thread:
  2. Ah...I had the impression it was an important component of the B-pillars. I would have not gone through the hassle of fitting them if I knew before
  3. I know one is PS and one is BHP. So basically are you saying that the 287 is PS and not BHP?
  4. So the 2 wires with the plastic casing touching the air filter will not affect the performance of it? My filter is slightly deformed (flat not jaggered) on the side that's being covered by the rubber heat shield guard, would that effect the performance of it? I got a blob of Blue tack and stuck it on the black rim (highest point) of the air filter, the base part. I closed the bonnet and opened it again to see how flat the blue tack went. The blue tack had the indentations of the air filter rim and the metal line on the underside of the bonnet. Looking at difference in length between both the indentations, there is approximately 7mm to a cm difference. Many Thanks, Hassan
  5. Hi all, I've always wondered why the 03-06 models are sometimes listed as having 276 bhp and sometimes as 287 bhp. Which one is the correct figure and why are there different figures specified? Thanks guys, Hassan
  6. A cover that fits inside the arch of the strut brace in the boot, blocking occupant's and people outside the car's view of the boot. It effectively splits the boot into 2 compartments. Kind regards, Hassan
  7. Ah ok...explains why it's so quite then. I havn't actually taken it past 4k revs yet so maybe that's why I've not noticed anything. I always had the impression it drastically changes the sounds below 4k and idle noise too. I guess not then Yes there must be more warm air going to the filter, you can tell by looking at the position of the heat shield. The actual cone filter is sitting higher than the rest of the components in the engine bay, including the engine. That's why I fear it may be touching the underside of the bonnet, I don't want to end up denting the bonnet by shutting the bonnet and hitting the filter cone. How much space is there between the underside of the bonnet and the components in the engine bay? the bottom of my filter, the actual blue bit is touching some tubed wires. Is that safe? Is the filter meant to be not in contact with anything (clear of any obstruction). Many Thanks for your help. Hassan
  8. Hi everyone, I received my JWT pop charger yesterday I did not waste any time and began the fitting process, following these helpful instructions: http://my350z.com/forum/engine-drivetra ... -pics.html I came across a couple of issues along the way, but I got there in the end! In the photo, there is a gold bolt/screw where the silver metal piece sticks out in the engine bay (supporting the metal connecting rod that joins to the air filter), I used the wrong screw there and ended up snapping the head off as I over-tightened it! This gold screw was actually off the air tube with the air flow sensor enclosed that attached to the back of the OEM air box, I realised later on. It took me an hour to unscrew it back out using a pair of pliers, my back was aching after that!! I've ended up scratching that metal with the gold screw on in the photo when I was unwinding the broken screw/bolt with the pliers, can this start to rust over time? The gold screw in the photo is still the incorrect one, I have now replaced it with the correct screw that was taken off the original air box. I purchased this after reading 100s of positive comments on this kit. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I don't seem to hear a significant amount of difference in noise, just a slight woosht/suction noise when blipping the throttle (not that loud). When idling, the car sounds exactly the same as before (I expected it to have more of a 'hiss' noise like my previous induction kit on a Celica). With regards to the performance, I've noticed the car feels more torque'y on low revs. This may either be the 'placebo effect' or the fact that I disconnected the negative terminal on my battery for a few hours to reset the ECU, whilst I was fitting the pop charger. This ECU reset may have also reset the throttle response causing it to be more responsive (previous owner was an elderly driver so may have driven it nicely for the past 5 years of ownership). The air filter seems much higher the the rest of the engine bay (including the engine cover), I'm worried the filter will be hitting the bonnet when I close it? Can somebody with a JWT popcharger fitted please compare my photos to yours and confirm whether I have fitted it correctly? I appreciate your help guys Kind Regards, Hassan Photos are below:
  9. Keep me updated if you find a resolution, I'll do the same!
  10. I really appreciate your help Yes it definitely has! I'll probably end up purchasing some vinyl off you for other bits and bobs in the future Is it necessary to re-apply the weather strips or do people just apply the B-pillars without them? Can it cause any leaks or anything? Many Thanks, Hassan
  11. Thanks everyone It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! They do make a massive difference to the appearance of the car, especially because it's grey
  12. I have now wrapped my B-pillars, looks fantastic! The thread on this is as follows: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=49276 Here are a couple of photos: Many Thanks, Hassan
  13. Hi all, As mentioned previously on intending to wrap my B-pillars, I have finally completed the task! Thanks to Rich (RTBiscuit) for taking the time out on advising and helping me, I really appreciate all of his help! I removed the rubber weather strips off the pillars before I wrapped them, then used adhesive glue and stuck them back on. Is it necessary to re-apply the weather strips or are they not important? The strips are starting to peel slightly as the glue didn't stick properly. Shall I remove the weather strips completely or stick them back on as they are needed? Photos below: Many Thanks, Hassan
  14. Mine and Neil's are very similar. I'm guessing you drive more spirited than me seeing as your average speed is higher and your MPG is slightly lower, or could it be your mods?
  15. Hi all, I've always wondered why you need to depress the clutch to start the car. I'm guessing one of the obvious reasons is to prevent you jerking forward if you start it in gear, any other reasons? I've heard starting the car whilst depressing the clutch is hard on the throttle thrust bearing? When I first purchased the car (coming from an automatic BMW 330ci sport), I wasn't in the habit of depressing clutch when starting her up. All the lights on the dash flicker showing the car cannot start. Can attempting to the start the car repeatedly without depressing the clutch damage/wear any components or electrics? Many Thanks, Hassan
  16. I have an issue with left turns too. When I turn the steering more than about a quarter way to the left it makes a rattling noise, almost like empty cans dragging on the ground. It's a rotating sound that's related to the rotation of the wheel. Is that similar to your issue? Many Thanks, Hassan
  17. Hello everyone, It would be interesting to know what the average 'real world' MPG is for the 350z, looking at member's current MPG readings. A brief explanation of what sort of driving you do would also be great! Let's see who has the highest/lowest MPG figure (no cheating! ) I'll start off with mine. Mine is short inner-city 1-2 mile journeys to and from work, I don't even think my car reaches optimum temperature by the time I've reached my destination!
  18. One of the best Zeds I've seen by a country mile...
  19. Hi mate, Yes I should be able to find you better deals on some products on that list (after spending hours shopping around). With regards to the pressure washer, I know a Karcher dealer Which could sort you out with a very good pressure washer and all the attachments you require at a very good price. PM is on it's way Regards, Hassan
  20. Thanks a lot for all your comments guys, i really appreciate it. You have made me feel the time and effort put into cleaning it has been worth while! I'm sure you've seen a cleaner car than mine though Stu!
  21. Hi Tom, The best way you can hide these marks is by using the Meguiars ultimate protectant trim and dash restorer. Depending on how bad these marks are, I'm sure it will help hide them? Another option which a few people go with is wrapping the trim with 3M vinyl. There could be an interior specialist on this forum that could advise you?
  22. next time you want to watch a match online, PM me
