  1. Hi everybody, I've always wondered...why do some Zeds have 2 swivel knobs on the drivers seat and some have just one? What's the difference? Was it an optional extra or something? Thanks, Hassan
  2. Hi everybody, You may have heard many people talking about 'wearing in' a brand new engine/car. Did this need to be carried out on the Zeds? Some people say this don't need to be done on modern cars and some people say you do The E46 M3 needed a 'wear-in' service so I'm guessing they needed to be worn in properly and they are fairly modern vehicles. If a car needed wearing in, could long-term damage be caused if the car was rev'd hard in it's first few thousand miles? Thank you for your comments guys!
  3. Is it worth paying around £17 extra to get a brand new one with a warranty? I'm assuming the £65 is for a used one? How reliable are these modules?
  4. Hi everyone, I was speaking to Nissan today with regards to sourcing a Bluetooth module. Because I work in the motor trade, they offered me one at a discounted rate. The price I've been offered for one of these (after discount) is £68 + VAT. Is this a fair price? I was thinking that's a bit dear... I appreciate your advice. Hassan
  5. Thank you guys for the help (and the banter!), appreciate it! Yes I know I stress too much about my car, let's hope I calm down! I had a good laugh reading some of your posts, didn't expect it to turn sexual! Bet you lot were expecting a 'proper' bush!
  6. Thank you for your advice. I'll have a look when I've washed the car. I never use T-cut, I don't trust it at all! I use Autoglym super resin polish, which I didn't really notice an improvement on swirl marks? I had a scuff on my rear bumper which my colleague removed using G3 and a machine polisher (I work for a automotive company based across the Midlands), the scuff disappeared completely! Do you think this was safe for the thin 350z paint? How long do I have to wait till I can wax/pressure wash that area? I've been told to let the surface cure before applying anything to it by another friend. I have attached pictures of this offending bush LOL!! http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab16 ... photo4.jpg http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab16 ... photo3.jpg http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab16 ... photo2.jpg http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab16 ... photo1.jpg Regards, Hassan
  7. Thanks for your help mate! PM sent
  8. Hi everybody, I am looking for a Bluetooth module/adapter to connect to the unit in my armrest compartment. Please let me know if you have a spare one. Many Thanks, Hassan
  9. Haha! I expected to receive that response! Basically at work the ground is not maintained at all. Between the Walls and the tarmac ground, plants are beginning to grow from between the cracks and branches (thin twig-like plants). We park against that wall so there is a high risk of scraping past these plants as it is a quite narrow pathway. I've trimmed down the area I normally park in but I ain't guaranteed to park at the spot all the time. There's a bit I drove through whilst squeezing through a colleagues car and the wall and some of these twig-like things dragged across the cars side. They're quite thin but hard enough to hear it hitting the bodywork. They're flexible so I can imagine them bending and the curved area having contact with the car. I was just curious as to the likliness of it resulting in damage. I checked the bodywork but could not really see as it is very filthy.
  10. Oh man that must have been painful!! Did you get them sorted or you just learned to live with them? Were they just standard leaves and twigs or thorn bushes?
  11. i was just wondering...if you drive past an overgrown bush with some of the thin branches sticking out and scraping along the side of the car, what's the possibility of it scratching the paintwork? Thanks, Hassan
  12. Ah...thanks for the info Makes me feel better!!
  13. Ah ok...so the bumper will never deform as a result of human pressure/force. So when it bends in, it just comes back to it's original state/shape again. if i ran into head first id leave a dent Hahahaha!! That's a good one!!
  14. I've just looked at the dipstick today, I think it's shaped funny at the bottom to guide the dipstick into the right position (the hoop hole facing the side of the car and not the windscreen). I could be wrong though! I've got a few pics which I'll post up for people to look at With regards to the oil, I checked this morning and it's showing as full!! It was much easier reading it on a cold engine!
  15. Realistically you've got it the safer way round as the car will understeer before it oversteers, but you've still got that imbalance between front and rear. The car is worth £10K, a couple of tyres are worth £300. Which is easier to replace? Very good point, I will definitely have 050's all round when they need replacing
  16. 040's are stock fitting 050's would have been a user upgrade. should you be worried? dpends on how you drive if you drive hard everywhere, i'd want the best setup all round. general rule of thumb is to have the same all round, and never mix across the axle. mixing front to back is not too bad and they are good tyres, not nasty nankangs, but i would be looking at either swapping the 040's over to 050s at some point, or swapping them all out for a preffered brand of your choice all round. as we're heading into the better weather this isnt too bad and in dry weather i wouldnt be worried. but in wet weather i'd be taking it steady to be on the safe side. Thank you for giving me the peace of mind, I actually drive quite sensibly. I rarely drive it hard as I feel guilty for abusing her! So let's hope the tyres don't give me a problem! In the future, I will have my 040's swapped to a pai of 050's. The thing is they're still quite new, I'm guessing it's going to be at least another year before they need replacing! I thought the car came with 050's as standard and the seller cut corners. The seller fitted on 2 brand new 050's on my rear 3 days before I bought it, I even have the invoice to prove this. I'm confused as to why someone would spend £400 on tyres which he is going to get rid of in a few days time?
  17. Ah ok...so the bumper will never deform as a result of human pressure/force. So when it bends in, it just comes back to it's original state/shape again. I like your explanation, very well thought out and makes sense! Appreciate it
  18. Thank you for your quick reply! So pressing down on the number plate area with a fair amount of pressure with your hands, should not deform/misplace the bumper? Even though you can see the bumper pressing in slightly? My heart skipped a beat when he was doing it
  19. I noticed my rear number plate was coming off as the sticker wasn't strong enough. I applied some new number plate sticker and stuck it back onto the car. I was just wondering how strong these plastic bumpers are...a friend of mine was using all his force onto the number plate for around 10 seconds to ensure the number plate was securely stuck on to the bumper. I noticed the bumper bends in when pressure is applied to the bumper, maybe because its hollow at that part of the bumper? Can this cause any deformation/damage to the bumper if pushed using excessive pressure? Thanks for your help guys!
  20. Thank you for your advice! At the moment it is running on millers fully synthetic so I got nothing to worry about at the moment. I will probably change the brand of oil after my next service. I will view the link you just sent me
  21. I'm so anal about my Alazan leather that I have a square white cloth placed on the bottom part of my seat. I wear a few jeans with metal buttons that stick out and don't want to risk scratching the leather! Does anybody else do this or am I just a bit too anal about my car...
  22. Give www.parkersaccidentrepairs.co.uk a try. They're based in Leicester and are very good!!
  23. I've noticed members on this forum are much more helpful than other forums I've been to! Yeah that's what I will do tomorrow, let's hope I wake up early enough so I have the time to do it! The end of the dipstick is twisted, looks like its been bent out of shape. Are these dipsticks normally this shape?
  24. The write-up explains having 040's at the front and 050's on the rear. I have exactly the same set-up on my car. Does this mean I should worry??? Did my car come with 040's as standard or 050's? It is a December 2004/54 Nissan 350z UK-GT with the RAYS alloy wheels.
