  1. Yes perfectly ok. Hammerite smooth is good for high temps. A business freind of mine paints exhaust manifolds and the paint stays on so should be good to paint hub edges and disc brake body's without any worrys.
  2. Surely this will help keep prices good for others selling there z. Generally I would expect to buy a car of this value around £1200 cheaper privately than purchasing from a dealer. Dealers will price the car for the going rate. May I suggest you will have many inquiries if you started a used car business that is only adding £300 - £400 added to private sale prices. Purchase the car arrange pick up valet polish check mechanically add 3 months warranty advertise all for £300 - £400 Not the best business plan I have seen.
  3. No. Just follow the groove. The salt build up will come off as a black/brown residue it will quickly be obvious when you have reached the bottom of the groove as it will be shiny metal.
  4. It appears you can make a claim and if you cant prove it didn't happen the insurance company will payout upto £500 and penalise the driver at renewal time. It costs more money to investigate. Just so you know I am insured with Admiral just like many others in the forum. The independant loss adjuster who came out said he is now getting upto 10 such claims per week and its near impossible to validate whether it happened or not. I will not be letting this go.
  5. I forgot to add my car was safely tucked up in the garage all day on the day in question.
  6. I have recently had my insurance company contact me regarding a so called incident in a car park. The other party claims I doored his east European pile of junk. Insurance company's are finding this sort of claim difficult to prove one way or the other. Paying out £500 to our east European fraudster and leaving the honest brit with a claim fault. The assesor came out today took pictures of my mint z. I gave him the dates and places where I have taken the car. Backed up with my business diarys showing my movements around the time of the alleged incident. I now wait to see if the evidence I have provided is good enough for the insurance to deny the claim. The best evidence is keeping a diary for every day apparently. I am only posting to warn others about our European @*!# houses scamming you and increasing you insurance bill with an almost impossible way of proving your innocence.
  7. Ebc turbo grooved discs can suffer with salt corrosion build up in the grooves. Remove the discs and use a dremel to grind out the build up. This is very common on this type of disc. The build up will increase your wear rate as the corroded surface is harder than the brake pad.
  8. I would check you caliper pistons are all moving. Sounds to me like all the load is being taken on the inner face. I see lots of the discs and never seen your problem before.
  9. I am self employed with 3 small businesses. I like to be busy but to relax I plan a full weekends activitys at motorsport events out to dinner special events etc. This way I keep buzzing without working. I get bored quick without a focus for each day. My relaxation is to get out meet people and visit new places and usually a good drive in the z.
