  1. Just been to see my bodyshop friend, seems I'll be spending a bit of money! He says he can repair the panel, it's not as bad as he thought from the picture, he did say it will take a lot of effort and most body shops would prefer to change the panel but he's going to see what he can do. I'm also going to have a N1 bodykit fitted with rear spoiler, and my door handles painted black Just need to price up the bodykit and find the paint code for sunset orange, any ideas?
  2. Confused? But I hit the side of the car not the rear, I have a reverse parking camera and managed to park fine it just seems I have trouble leaving parking spaces
  3. I've just had a chat with him over the phone and he said pretty much what you said, he'll have a look but may/probably will be a case of cutting the damaged section out and welding a new section in, either way he's only charging for paint as he owes me a massive favour after I bailed his business out earlier in the year. which is why I'm considering getting a spoiler and front splitters at the same time to get my monies worth Excellent, sounds like you may have a result then. One thing is for sure you will be paranoid now about parking anywhere! You should have seen me trying to park my van this morning paranoid is an understatement, I'm sure it'll pass though, just one of them things!

  5. Haha that's quite funny actually! I've jump started bikes many a time (had an R6 with a flat battery I used to bump start for weeks, why I didn't just buy a new battery I will never know!!) and whilst I've never messed it up myself i can see how it can go wrong really easily!! I am taking the car to my mates bodyshop early this week, I think I am going to end up asking him to fix it as best he possibly can and I'll get the panel replaced when I have more monies. Anyone know where I can get a BIG sticker from? haha. Maybe I'll get him to repair it up then vinyl the rear quater with some funky design to distract from the damage At least this answers my "shall i sell it?" question now
  6. I'll be honest, that's what's annoying me the most, if I was "with it" I would have stopped, reversed up and the damage would have been a bit less, although I didnt really power through it as such I just can't believe how much damage it did. And yeah youre right, it's driveable, I have a friend who runs a bodyshop who said he will take a look and see if it's fixable or not, I think he is my best bet right now. But when it comes down to it, it's still driveable!
  7. I was leaving the parking space and wasn't going quick or being silly, I really don't understand how it got that damaged I really dont, just my luck I guess! I think it's because the post had a hand rail around it and this is what dug into the car. If it was just a normal post it would prob have been okay.
  8. Insurance will write it off
  9. Here is my stylish new re-design of the rear panel! Proper job! Anyone got any T Cut?
  10. I can't believe I've actually done this and can only blame it on the man flu but on my doomed trip to tesco to get flu tablets I've driven my 350 into a pylon when leaving a parking space. The rear left panel is beyond saving and the door has some slight damage mostly to handle. I'm waiting for my mum to bring hammer and crow bar lol how embarasing. Guess I'll be calling Alex soon for a rear left Panel although I'll be surprised if I can afford it. I really can't believe I've done this after years of trouble free motoring. I'll post pictures later so you can all laugh at my (temporary) incompetence :-(
  11. I did this too, it's easy to get a cable from the centre console into the gap underneath the laptop cubby hole plate.. that then pokes through into the boot where I ran it around under the mat/platics and down through a hole into the rear bumper area. I installed my reverse camera without removing any panels at all, all I did was loosen the centre console and remove the boot lining. I'm an electrician so quite used to fishing cables around It's relatively straight forward and easy though!
  12. Don't think it is as it was pretty well installed, but I think that's on the list of things to check. Might have to get the new ipod lead to make it worthwhile taking the dash apart, again
  13. Random, it's suddenly started working again..... I thought it died completely because it wouldnt turn on and wasn't displaying the "charging" logo.. but yesterday it suddenly started working again so panic over!
  14. My Nurrish Sat nav has died already, un sure why What's my options if I can't fix it? Remove bezel from another sat nav and re-fit it? Car PC (expensive though) anyone had any similar issues?
  15. If he is, I *might* be interested in the cradle on its own, depending on cost..
  16. I'm not worried about battery drain, I'd just like it to turn itself on and off automatically without having to press buttons. Just a bit annoying especially having to explain to people at the garage how to do it. I've modified mine so the switch is hidden. It's not a major problem I just wondered if there was a fix, as most sat nav's give the option automatically to turn off or stay on when mains power is lost. It turns itself on automatically provided it has charge in the battery, but as I don't drive the car all the time it'll often drain. It's just one of those small issues I'm wondering if can be fixed, if not I won't lose any sleep over it
  17. Alex has just wiped me out with new front DBA's + Ferodos. Ace man though very helpful and I'm sure has saved me loads of cash in the long run too as I think these will far outperform the standard/pattern parts type ones. Shame it puts the nismo style spoiler and wheel refurb on the back burner for a bit but I guess being able to stop is more important I'll try the lube, I'm guessing silicon lube?? I have some autoglym stuff somewhere.
  18. My car seems to be a bit noisy in the cab when driving now. Is there any known issues with the drivers door seal? or is there normally quite a bit of wind noise? I'm not sure I've noticed it before. Anyone else had same issues and is it an easy fix?
  19. Anyone made their Nurrish unit automatically turn off with the ignition and automatically turn on with the ignition when the battery is flat?? its one of the things that really annoys me with it. I was contemplating disconnecting the battery from the unit then assuming it'd turn itself off when it loses 12v power from the car?!!? Any ideas?
  20. Nah it looked standard, I think it may have had rays though, and it definitely looked like a private plate if I remember rightly.
  21. Where on South Coast was you? Very randomly, but is that second avenue, farlington? I'm probably wrong but thought I'd ask!
  22. I had an 03 Warrior too! Loved it to bits, the heavy snow in the south was the best few days ever (albeit very bad for business lol) I must admit the fun in the snow was probably some of the best fun driving in a vehicle that I've ever had. And I do agree slightly, it cost £700 for new cambelt tensioner and pulleys etc but other than that had no issues at all and I sold it for more than I paid for it a year later . To be fair my dad has just bought a 2011 Dodge Ram so the Mitsubishi will be much cheaper in comparison! I don't like the Navara, the Hilux's are nice but very expensive especially to get all the extras to match the L200's.
  23. Well it looks like I will probably go down this route of selling the zed next year and getting the company vehicle. On the plus side, I *may* be able to justify keeping my road bike now, provided I actually start riding it
  24. The L200 will be paid for by the company, so I won't personally pay for it. I personally own the zed though so selling that would then free up some money for me. I could technically keep the nissan but then I'd still have the overheads, the worry and the lack of use, I spent most of my time in my van as it's more practical and obviously for work so the L200 will get a lot more use than the nissan. Plus I'm not really doing well enough to be Mr Flash 2 nice cars at the minute. More and more I think about it it makes sense, just spent the past hour having major issues as I didn't realise that the insurance and tax ran out today! Just spent £1000 I don't have! great. I know house prices are low which is good for buying, I don't intend to move out for a few years and would intend on buying a "doer upper" as I'm in the trade..
  25. I totally aggree that this is the correct priority. You can't do much without a house. I do quite resent paying £600 a month in rent that I'll never see any value from again! I'm glad I got some balanced realistic responses, I would hope that after a year or two I'd be in a position to buy a 370z when they're down to the sub-£15k mark. I could just drive the PAT mobile but the companies in a position to afford the L200 so I'd kinda like something nice, and a big bonus would be 5 seats again as at the minute I only have 2 in the van and the car! But yes you're all right it makes more sense to get the house sorted, as after all, a car is just a car! Just hard to convince myself that already sold my off road bike and the road bike is currently on ebay.
