  1. Purely basing that off what I've seen those without tyres go for on eBay (circa £600). RE040s wouldn't have been my first choice had I put them on myself, but they seemed to perform pretty well. Certainly £100 for four well!!
  2. As I can now pull all kind of smug faces that I have LMGT4s to run on with my new Zed, the Rays (18") I was previously running are for sale. I upgraded my previous Zed from the original 18" wheels with these about 6-8 months ago. It is definitely not worth leaving them on the car to sell it, as they are in such good condition, so it's gone back onto the original rims. They are almost completely mint - absolutely no signs of bubbling at all and only the tiniest of marks on them (I am being very fussy - I thought they were completely mint until I got up close with the camera. High definition pictures of all the wheels, front and back, available (it looks like I'm pretty limited on what I can upload here, understandably). I'm in Warwickshire, so hopefully as central as possible to get to for the majority. I will consider posting, but I can't say I'm keen, and it would mean waiting until at least the next available weekend, as I have absolutely no time during working hours in the week. From memory, you will get some change from £50 to post, and I would charge what it costs. Looking for £600 and a happy home for them! Edit: More high resolution photos here: http://s1305.photobu...brary/350Z Rays
  3. Should have mentioned, the other benefits of camping inside the circuit at Beausejour is that last time I went, they weren't being really fussy about pitch sizes, so you actually had a bit of space around the tent to your neighbours. Though maybe that's stopped now, as it gets ever more popular.
  4. So is this the first year the club's done this? I've been to Le Mans several times before (in sad pre-Zed days). I even went as far as stickering up my Mondeo as a p1sstake. Worth posting on here just for the amusement! So no photos of stickered up Zeds then?
  5. Are you guys referring to the "double opening" issue (i.e. that the tailgate pops on the first press, but doesn't clear the latch). I'd seen on the common issues thread that you could just pad it out with a bit of foam to solve the issue. I'll also be intrigued if new springs solve it, as both of mine have exhibited this issue, and it is annoying!
  6. Wow! I had not anticipated just how highly torqued the seat bolts were going to be! Need to get an air gun on those beasts. Have given in to actually getting some replacement switches and motors out of a donor car, thanks to leonk, so hopefully will have a bit more luck than I did with the contact cleaner!
  7. Thanks for the advice. I'm convinced it's something to do with the electrical contacts, as the fore/aft movement also wouldn't work this morning, but had magically fixed itself by the evening! Do you need to remove the seat to get at them, because I gave the seat bolts a go tonight, and they're absolutely solid! I've whacked some WD40 on them, but think I may need something a bit more hard-core!

    Falken 453's

Ah...that makes more sense. Thanks guys for the suggestions - it's now bookmarked for when that painful time gets here, but it's yet another tick in the 'keep the LMGT4 wheels' box
  9. A quick follow up on my plea for advice - I managed to get sight of what I assume was the seat squab motor (based on the angle of the pinion and it's general location). It's evident someone's tried to get at it before, as the trim is slightly cracked. I've also tried oiling the switch itself, with no joy. What I don't understand is that the motor makes no noise whatsoever to suggest it's jammed, however it definitely still reclines backwards (accidentally moved it a fraction more while jiggling the switch). Any better ideas?

Try here mate http://lovetyres.com/ I was scared off the michelins by price, but looking at a few different tyres now and they seem good prices for all kinds of brands. Great tip! I've never heard of them, but you're right the prices seem too good to be true! I've always used Black Circles until now, but that might be about to change. Have you used them before? Clearly Auto Express rate them, which gives me more confidence in them. I've read more about the Falkens since I posted last night (they are still cheap), and am being less convinced by the reviews I've read, but then they're based on other cars. Any first hand experiences contrasting the two? I also know the RE050s are popular, but the word runflat gives me a bit of a chill!

How do these compare to perceived 'premium' brands like Michelin and Continental? I've just bought a new Zed running on LMGT4s, and have just winced slightly at the £280 a corner for most Michelins. I've got Bridgestones on my current (now previous I guess) Rays and have thought they're a bit weak, so don't know how to compare these to Michelin/Continental, which have always been my benchmark.
  13. I've just bought a new (my second) Zed, and have this exact issue with the seat squab. The previous owner said that it had happened before, but he had just jiggled the seat itself a bit whilst not sat in it. I have tried this (and a bit of a gentle hammering) with no joy. Did anyone get any joy from the WD40 option, and if so where are you squirting it. Not a massive fan of spraying oil into something electrical!! P.S. Sorry mods for resurrecting an old thread, but it seemed like a better plan that starting a new one.
  14. So, I'm a bit smug, as I now have a fleet of Zeds on the drive. I've had my original for 2.5 years now, but have always fancied an Azure one. Finally, I've now realised it, and here it is in the hills of Scotland, starting a long journey back to it's new home in the South!
  15. Sorry, didn't explain myself that well there - my insurance for the car full stop seems to have rocketed (i.e. jumped to £2000 from £800) so I might be forced into selling the car. Still finding it fluctuates a lot though, so hoping I can get a cheap quote and save it so they can't back out of it. The wheels won't add £500 to the value of the car so don't want to throw that away for what might only be a few months running As for winter...I just cleaned the Zed religiously every week! Snow socks saved the day on several occasions!
  16. They vary a bit. I spent a while trying to buy mine and spent £500 in total (bought them in pairs). You have to be very patient though! Annoyingly, my insurance appears to have rocketed, so I'm a bit concerned about being able to renew in November, so decided to sell them on again as can't justify throwing that money away (I'll never get it back in resale value). I've just sold the fronts for £275.
  17. I bought mine fully in the belief that there weren't many around, only to then park in a little residential car park with 3 others (in the same colour!) three days later! Think there's about 5 or 6 just around the Warwick/Leamington area.
  18. Did you find out if this was the problem? I've got similar symptoms and that's all I can think of, but it was recently serviced by Nissan and they'd just ticked the box to say checked and fine. Personally, I'm dubious they did!
  19. May sound stupid, but make sure it's a UK spec car. I bought mine (42k, 54 plate, silver - sounds like the one you're looking at!) about 7 months ago and paid £8k for it, which seemed like a very good deal. Imports are always about £1k cheaper though, so if it's an import it's not such a great deal. It seems that despite the prices (average of about £9k I'd say) - they're not actually selling at the listed price. Good luck with it!!
  20. May also be worth giving Adrian Flux a call matey - they seem to have quite a lot of flex in their prices based on my previous experience with them (i.e. they've always matched quotes). Having said that, I am with Admiral now...
