The more I see this forum, the more chav like it becomes.

Ok, when. I'm getting so excited.
-
been there done that for several years and have worked out just how many miles we can do in a day in which conditions and on what roads... but i guess we shall see, if your only doing 150 miles in 8 hours including stops then you need to use the right hand pedal a bit more
...maybe but considering you've been there and done that for several years, you may be aware that on the spot speeding fines or even confiscation of cars apply in countries like France and Switzerland.
Generally 150 miles a day translates into 4.5 to 5.5 hours driving and if you prefer not to munch your dinner between shifting gears nor do petrol stops like race refuelling, you may find it takes closer to 7/8 hours on mountain roads
-
I think the op might be a little ambitious on his mileage calculations. In my experience 150 miles a day usually translates into about 5.5 hours in mountainous regions and that's before you add on petrol stops, food stops, pee stops, photo shoots and getting lost.which always seems to add up to about 8 hours.
As for hotel costs, if you want to keep them down you can choose Travelodge type hotels like Ibis, Campanile, Premiere Classe which are usually in the £35 to £60 range. I usually find hotels on Booking.com using the filtres I want and then check out the hotels themselves on Trip Advisor. If you want pretentious hotels though I'm sure you can find them for £90.

My plan is to have 3 lots of rest days, one on the Mediterranean, one near Beiscas,
and one to be decided (probably in the Picos de Europa). Return ferry is booked
on the Etretat with reclining chair departing 20th June and returning 5th July.
I'm currently in the middle of booking hotels. Both ferry and hotels are alterable
but I wouldn't do it without firm committment.
Here is a video from my trip last year just to whet your appetite.
If interested, pm me for further details

I used to see a blue one parked in the airport park & ride in the area reserved for the bank that very nearly broke the country.

You guys are on the wrong forum. Still you wouldn't have to have a tracker fitted or worry about having your car vandalised. Bit like having an old Land Rover and going into Morrisons.

Doesn't everyone have a BMW or a Porker?? They're so boring.
You don't, clearly, so no.
That's right. Something much better.

Not looking too good here. Is this the same ole East Anglia withering on the vine for lack of interest? Or maybe the location
is too far away?
How about something in February? I believe there is pub is sympathetic to petrolheads quite close to the Snetterton circuit.
Think it might be the Angel.

Good. I’ll be there.

Uuuuummm. Guess that's one benefit of being a pensioner.

It seems like the East Anglia section doesn't "do" very much - only up-date their members section now and again. What with nearly 60 members, you would have thought something would happen sometime.
I see my old buddy Ekona tried to organise a run back in August but after 4 pages of threads, he wound up with a run of only 4 members. Shame.
What about 15 days in Spain at the end of June? Might suit Wendy after she was let down by Grundy225's engine last year?

Near Cromer

Shame the bottom seems to have dropped out of this one but a couple of us have planned
two weeks in the Pyrenees and northwest Spain at the end of June beginning of July
if anyone is interested in joining. I would point out, though, that we are old.
Personally, I believe the Pyrenees is one of the best; good roads, less traffic and few police.

Just finished the Andermatt Loop and back in Germany for a couple of days prior to heading back to the UK via. the Vosge region of France. Weather has been generally fantastic. Report and pictures to follow when I get back.

Thanks for the welcome messages!
And thanks for pointing me in the right direction for parts.
Flex- no afraid that wasn't me, if you see one around north norfolk then chances are it is me.
How far north? Not near Cromer by any chance? There's one in my village. Is it you?
-
Having done 3000 miles along the Pyrenees and around France in June, and Scotland in August, I need to get one more in before winter. It's like a drug.
So, 4 days driving and sightseeing in the Black Forest plus a couple of days doing some passes in Switzerland is on the cards for mid September.
-
I just had 1 x 32gb card in each camera and downloaded each days driving on the laptop.
-
Lovely pics and nice car. Where did you go?
Thanks. Over to Brittany, down the west coast of France, east from Bayonne over the Cols de le Gourette, d'Aubisque and Tourmalet into Spain, through Vielha down to Tremp, across to Cardona, up to Llanca. Then up through the Gorge du Verdon to Castellane, the northern half of the Route de Napoleon to Digne up to the Haute Savoie taking in the Col du Galibier and home via Burgundy and Reims.
It's what 350's, 370's and GTRs are made for.
Anyone planning any road trips this summer?
