sorry to hear about health and to see the z go mate hope all goes well

i fixed it I cut away the cover to the connector unclipped with sharp knife the housing for the male connector (bent bit) also stabbed my hand at same time!! went maplins managed to find a 'create your own' usb connector took the guard bit slid it over old connector 'clicked' in place cover wrapped back round and melted in place...jobs a goodun...total cost £1.39 and best bit NO SOLDERING!!! So at least theres an easy fix if someone else does it Thanks to those involved but bad news is im getting a lap delta display and gear change indicator for xmas...anyone good at soldering lots of little things

depends were you take it and what colour/colours?? i paid £80 for mine in silver/black but i would say from garage anywhere from £100-150

cold weather can bring them on sometimes as well did you have it up on ramps?

yes your right i do need glasses or to read the page before haha well i managed to get 3 different cables could use to repair so thats covered, il go back to maplins and get some good solder 2mo, then I guess who ever is kind enough to do it first If no joy il drop you pm wed bout it pete...arent i lucky to have soldering/electrical genius' round me

right morning chores done i went into maplins and they tried to sell me a £14 lead!!! they basically said to take it apart and solder a new cable by the pcb board??? do i really have to take it apart and solder as close to where it plugs in on pcb or can the wire be cut (outside the unit) and joined there?? either way your still joining a new wire to an existing loom....maplins said no to that though

In an ideal world you would get a long USB cable and chop the opposite end off to the usb. This is then threaded into the box and the wires soldered to the oem points:) what about off an old mouse?? how was your day pete?? Thanks Graham your right will be hectic now though
