Jumping350 Build - Reborn 17/4/2018
jumping350 replied to jumping350's topic in Member Build Projects
Yaaaaaay page 2!!!!! Thanks guys that made me chuckle! Wiz I've had every part/kit you can imagine then swapped it for something else numerous times! The only way was take the bits I liked and threw them together till it looked nice in my eyes. Plastidip was easy start small and the more you do the better you get, well I might as well say as I've not done so yet but a s/c has currently emptied the bank account, can't wait though -
Haha it would, maybe she can post on my build thread, might get onto page 2 before may lol Happy 2000th post BTW No way didn't even realise that I'm still just a veteran though I thought it would change to special agent or something lol

i believe the sump is a 14mm nut (dont quote me) and the oil filter was a pain in my case, you may get lucky and be able to unscrew it by hand. use a big grip (like a water pump grip) or oil filter remover so get one of those to make life easier or if your like me and don't have either jab it with a screwdriver and turn it by hand
-
I done mine the other day, make sure nothing is underneath if you lower it (my sideskirt can vouch for that ) I took front right wheel off which made access easy then lowered car to drain oil out of plug (this takes skill ) you don't have to do that. but as mentioned stick 4 litres in then keep topping up against dipstick. undo oil filler cap and pull dipstick to help draining (make sure you put dipstick back in before refilling with oil) prime the oil filter with a bit of oil before you put it on make sure all the rubber seals are well coated in oil

they may break , but generally theres not enough room to get any leverage under there, I would nip down the garage and slide them a tenner to crack the nuts for you, much easier on a ramp (especially if you have to blow torch them ) then pop home and replace, or link numerous amounts of extension bars together till it comes out the back end of car pop on a breaker bar and jobs done

it says expected delivery wednesday im guessing il get contacted before then to pay? what a mission....thank god for Tarmac

is a low value under £100? I ordered a turbo charger kit from US and didnt pay a penny but then ordered some brakes and got stung pretty hard, havent ordered abroad for ages, seems they have got harsher! for OP sometimes people on here get stuff from US so maybe worth asking when you got a wod of cash and see if you can jump in on the order and contribute to original shipping cost
-
ive just ordered a giant clock from china and now wondering how much it will really cost me now it landed at stanstead Saturday with fed ex....does that mean im going to get stung?? or is it a hit and miss thing? didnt realise to do it by sea makes sense

Thought I would offer this out as a project before scrapping the car. 1990 G Limited mark 2 mr2 non runner (bottom end failure, which resulted in it being stored for 3 years) Needs a respray though may polish up ok if not overally fussed, 4 inch twin exhausts (stainless steel so should polish up) 16 inch alloy wheels, prior to engine failure all electrics worked. As it has sat for so long dics are rusted/seized inside has surface mould so could do with ripping it all out. Being honest here its basically a good rolling shell some things can be saved i.e wheels/exhausts/suspension/bodywork but generally no engine (though included), inside could have mould cleaned or replaced and needs a good tidy up. No time now to sort it out Car located in Surrey and would need to be trailored away Would make great track car or project to revive an absolute classic (ideal for dropping a turbo lump in it) Maybe interested in swap let me know what you got Any questions get in touch £300

look forward to see what you cook up mike, its funny as my old spoiler (nismo style) looked lost after the bumper change and the v2 just looks perfect for it. Well replace the side skirt I damaged today and there will be some new secrets to be unveiled soon It was great to pull the covers off it today and see the sun gleaming off...and of course some noise -
Jumping350 Build - Reborn 17/4/2018

Thanks for kind comments guys.....so... Today I dumped all the crap oil out that's been sitting there for 6 months, all went well except the oil filter which in the end got off...still the oil dip stick is being a pain and giving me funny readings but i just put 4.5 litres in and its in the low range on stick, there's no leaks so it must be in there somewhere Any way decided to try turn it over anyway, so the battery had been kept on my laminate floor all winter till today, chucked it in all lights popped up ,,,good sign. Oil pressure gauge on zero when ignition lights were on (couldnt remember if it always did it or not) thought il turn it over and if it doesn't move il cut it off instantly. Turn key....all gauge lights go off except abs/tcs/oil/battery etc then come back on when key is back to reset, could it be a battery? no sign of anything engaging or try to start just silence when i turn the key (i start to despair) mess around with immobilizer and key for a while, car fires up then dies 4 times (oil pressure gauge shoots up then shoots down when it dies so good sign again. Eventually jumps into life ...shes alive.....oil pressure goes to just under max, idles at about 2k crap loads of smoke my gf panics which leads me to shut it off. Yell at my mrs then Restart her... idle starts lowering, oil pressure starts lowering I keep an eye on it and idle settles around 1k and oil pressure just over 2 (ive got an import and oil pressure reads 2,4,6,8 4 being in the middle) does this about right?? i cant remember no check engine, no odd noises, no smoke, temp gauge sits at just under half and stays...so I give it a bit of a blip (can hear kids round the corner go ..what was that ) Ive missed the zed and really impressed how long you can leave them and just fire them back up with out to much bother. Im still mega paranoid though its all ok so i shut her off and will check oil and fill her up with fresh Super tommorow pics to follow.... -
its got a hole in it low cars eh

there is a button on lower dash that sometimes gets knocked by your knee this ables/disables the dipping mirrors trying pressing it then stick it in reverse, also ive never heard of corner sensors? also if you dont have a check engine light on i doubt (maybe wrong) that a code will come up so would be £75 wasted
