  1. How do I tell if I have a HFC fitted or not??? Without having the emissions tested. Is there anyway I can tell? Is it much much louder than normal??? Booked my car into Abbey for Thursday to get one fitted and it suddenly hit me whilst browsing the dyno thread. Some cars are running similiar power with HFCs fitted, so maybe I'm lucky or maybe I have one fitted already and wasn't told about it when I bought the car.

Please please help me. Don't wanna have to make the trip to Abbey to find out I don't need to and don't wanna mess them about either. Thanx in advance.

  2. Right, so this Thursday... Anybody up for meeting?

Two choices, either we meet at Valley Park, along with all the modded cars,

or we meet somewhere in Croydon but away from them!

    Answers on a postcard please!

  3. Took Rosie out for a little spin today to see what the Stillen sounded like.

Took a quick video - apologise in advance as the vid is rubbish quality. I found out after i filmed it at 90 degrees so had to flip it and the sound doesnt do it justice but hopefully i'll do another soon

Stillen sounds lovely, a little louder than the milltek but very similar but with more of an edge. Love it. May get the berks in the future but at present its a lovely quality exhaust for a quality car.

Heres the vid - just doing nice gentle starts and drive bys.

I was suprised when i gave the stillen a clean this morning. The pipes are so wide i could get my whole fist in with the mitt on !!!!!!

On the way back my friend took me to Blackwood, they have a big air strip there and its all been set up for a scene from the new film Rush telling the story of Niki Lauda - was strange seeing a grandstand in the middle of nowhere full of dummies and a mock pit lane from the past.

Will be going up there later in the year as Olivia Wilde is in it :cloud9: - she was soooo gorgeous in Tron.

Olivia Wilde is gorgeous in everything!

  4. Very TRON.

Isn't it just a type of Neon or other gas that illuminates when current pass through it?

Yes though I think that neon tubes are not terribly flexible

I think the rear lights in current BMW models use something similar... light diffusing acrylic or something like that. I can't google it because I don't know what it is

Edit: Now that you mention it, yes it does look very Tron! That gives me a whole bunch of styling ideas :teeth:

Snap! TRON style lighting = need to change my boxers! :teeth:

  5. ...do people take any notice of them?

M4 slip lane yesterday joining the M25, wife and 4 week old child in the back, doing 70 on the inside lane to turn off to M25. White van, hacking it up behind me, pulls out then swerves back in front of me forcing me to brake hard as he crossed the hatched lines

Woman, 4x4 Toureg, M25 joining A30, tail gaiting me for a mile at 50mph, about 5-10 yards max from my rear bumper, must have been able to look in through the back window to see Alfie staring back at her.

Don't people get it? Or are we as I suspect, as a nation dumbing down?

    People are dumbing down.

  6. I love the 458 Italia :cloud9:

It's only been out 10 minutes!

In all honesty the list of my 'dream' cars would mostly be cars that were created before I was born. There would be a handful of nearly modern machinery.

This is in my lotto win ultimate dream garage.....

Oh and a veyron wouldn't even nearly get a look in on it.

But as a petrolhead can you not appreciate the engineering that went into the Veyron. It's not about how fast it is but it's about how it does it, and with so little effort and so much comfort.

I'm a petrolhead and an Engineer. I do appreciate the engineering but it just doesn't stir my loins. It leaves me cold to be honest. Sure it's mind boggling how good it is but I wouldn't want a picture of it on my wall as it's not attractive to me (subjective) and a dream car should basically give you a semi at the thought of it and a full lob on when you see it and hear it start. For girls, you can translate to other pant based reflexes.

Take Lambos, the Gallardo is magic. I'm lucky that I've experienced a few and the Superleggera is mind blowing. A Murci is a dream machine but not my dream. Countach? Never really did it for me. The lambo I love the most and the one that I'd most like to own is the Muira. I believe it's not that good to drive however it's the one that stirs emotion in me the most.

    Fair play!
