  1. I'll meet you at Starbucks. We can have a little play on the way to Ace. I bet you'll want to get your car cleaned before we hit North London though :)

Planning on just going round the m25, got home at 5am so don't know how much cleaning I'll be up for. Cleaned my mates EVO yesterday. Took 4 hours for a partial clean. He couldn't be bothered to finish it all properly.

  2. I'd write down everything that I could learn about women, how they think, why they do stuff etc. so that when I am a man again, I could understand them more.

Hope you have a big book

Anything is better than nothing and that's what I've been getting recently... Nothing.

    In the words of Eminem...

"All my life I was very deprived

I ain't had a woman in years, and my palms are too hairy to hide"

  3. Like I said, I'm up for meeting up beforehand. I suggested the Starbucks Cafe near the M23, on the A23. Could meet there at 2 and make our way around the M25 to Wembley. Gives us two hours for an hour journey so we should get there ok. Unless somebody else has a better place to meet up???

  4. Ran out of fuel yesterday!!! :yahoo:

By which I mean I finished off using ALL the awful bloody 95 ron crap I had to fill up with a few weeks ago because every ar*ehole and his dog had to "top up" with £2.46's worth of fuel, due to possible talks about pay with truck drivers, that may at some point the following MONTH lead to a possible strike. And as there was no 95 ron left, the gits used up all the 99/100 as well.

So I have been driving round like a granny for two weeks, keeping it under 4k (and STILL getting shite economy, which I KNOW is down to the fuel)

(Click here to see this thread for details: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=60088 )

Everyone on here who argues that there is no difference between the 95 and 100 ron fuel must be deaf, numb and blind.

I could feel the difference in the car the MOMENT I filled up.

Less "shakey" at tick over, smoother and quicker up the revs.... all in all 50% better with the 99 Momentum.

And when I thought it was in my head, Tam noticed when she got in! So even passengers can tell the difference... :scare:

Oh... and my first foot down to just under 6k felt SO SO good... good job the seats are leather and wipe clean ;)

Anyone who uses 95 ron and says "It is better for economy" ... or "You can't tell the difference" and "It does no harm to the engine" .. needs their keys taking off them, and beating with a fish. :fishslap:

Totally agree with you! I've hunted high and low for super unleaded, and found it luckily. But driving like a granny ain't fun!

  5. Isn't this forum a fantastic place! Many Thanks for the offers of help and the advice received.

Passing on the information to the MOT garage, they took her out and " . . pushed her pretty hard" (Their words) and now called me back to say "All OK, passed this time"

Seems all it took was to get her properly hot enough and 'Hey! Presto' - Bob's your uncle.

Anyway - Thanks again for the offers of help

(The guys at Abbey had offered to remap the ECU to super low emissions, send it back, pass the MOT, return it and re-map her back to where she is now - so plenty of other solutions in play, too!)

Oh, and by the way - I called Westway Stockport for a price for new stock cats. For my JDM, they were £748 each (plus VAT) so £1795.20 including VAT - alternatively the UK ones (With no guarantee and NOT returnable if they didn't fit as my girl is Japanese) were £720 for one side and £738 for the other (eh? Different prices each side? ) = £1749.60. I said I'd think about it, and didn't order them. . . .

    'Robbing Bar-Stewards' comes to mind. . . .

    Cheers

    I

Glad you got it sorted.... they have to thrash my old Toyota every year to get it through the MOT. Interesting price for the OEM Cats :scare: They go for very modest amounts 2nd hand on Ebay.

Damn it! When I got my Berks fitted at Abbey a few weeks ago, they asked me if I wanted the stock cats anymore and I said I had no need for them! Could have sold them on! :bang:

  6. Plain ones and coloured ones I asssume perform the same with these as it is only asthetics. So does it really add any weight? Just seems nice to get gold ones to match. Costs the same. I'm not a fan of putting things on the car unless it improves performance.

They just add 'feel' to the brakes, before I got them fitted I found the brake a bit vague and spongy really....

It won't matter what colour you get really, because unless you intend to clean them every week, they all end up looking the same....dirty

Well I do tend to clean my car twice a week.

And do you tend to jack up the car twice a week to take the wheels off and clean behind the caliper where the lines sit?

That's where they go? Lol. Ok so I won't get round to clean them ever.

  8. [i was just thinking price wise really, now that a Zed could be worth about £6k spending over £1k just on front disks & pads does seem overkill for me that's all unless, you regularly throw it round a track of course

Good point, but then you could also argue it's actually a £30K car so parts should be looked at in that aspect.

My trouble is that I see so many people pouring £5K+ into the car to make it heavier and slower by adding all the pretty bits, and that makes me die a little inside :(

now i need to get some hel brake lines. anybody got any idea which colour matches the gold calipers best?

You can't really see them unless you take the wheels off, mine are the standard silver I didn't know they did different colours

They do make a nice difference to the feel of the brakes

    ^^^This. Get the plain ones.

Drop me a PM if I can help you further.

    Alex :)

    Already purchased.

2 piece dba discs and ferodo ds2500 pads.

  10. thinking about 2 piece dba with ds2500 pads. just waiting to hear back from CS about if the old hat will be compatible with the new t3 series rotors. so i can just buy them and save myself some cash in the future.

  11. Braking is usually balanced 60% front and 40% rear.

Braking is mainly at the front so it's a good idea to upgrade while replacing.

You have a wealth of choice out there.

CS can supply DBA at a good price. Don't make your choice based on colour tho, just match it to your driving style.

You won't need a disc more siuted to track driving when you don't do track work.

Give Mitz a call and he'll see you right.

Myself I have Dixcel discs (6 groove) which were sourced via Dixon at DMS Motorsport.

So I take it that gold ones are not the same spec as the black ones? Thought it might be the same compound but just a different colour. Performance is my main goal, but more fast road with the rare use on track. Never been on a track day but looking to go on one this summer.
