  1. The guy that called from Preston said they were running an event this Sunday as they had a new 370z Roadster in and were offering 1 hour slots for existing 350z owners to come down and see what we think. I think they are open 12 - 4 and said the 2pm slot had gone, so offered me 12, 1 or 3pm. I'm not sure whether I really want one, but if it means I can get behind the wheel and give it a go I'll go down - I took the 3pm slot. For those in the North West that use the Chorley group, even Preston admitted that the Blackpool branch is their 350 / 370 specialist branch. So if you wanted to get some joy looking at one, they might be your best bet?
  2. I got a call from Chorley Nissan (Preston) today offering the same. I knew this was coming as when I was looking for my 350 a couple of months back, the Blackpool branch told me they expected to get more in as Nissan were about to release this offer.
  3. Pre or post face-lift, I got the impression they were different but I could be wrong.
  4. Thanks for that. I will work out where my nearest Netto would be and see if I can get my hands on one!
  5. I live in Preston and can just about see the Ribble Bikes shop from my flat, in fact I have just been to the chippy next door to it. Actually I think they have moved to a bigger unit to concentrate on internet sales, but the old shop has their stuff all over the outside still. A lot of the guys round here that take cycling reasonably seriously have bought from them and I think they have a good reputation. I was speaking to a guy who does iron man in the pub on Sunday, and his bike was from them too and he seemed keen on it. My place has a similar scheme. Maybe I should visit them given my chips and beer diet.
  6. +1 for the R32. If I needed some rear space, I think that's what it would have to be for me.
  7. I agree with Dave, it's normal and mine is the same. As I understand its the amp that is powered up to support your phone connection via bluetooth. My previous cars have all required the radio to be on at least for the bluetooth to work. I assume the Zed is like this so phone calls can be received made even with the radio off. Wes
  8. Found this: http://cheaper-online.co.uk/850w-portab ... -2304.html I'm from Blackpool and this is right near the girlfriend's house. Might take a look!
  9. Thanks Chris. Didn't even think about a generator, and that is a lot cheaper than I thought one would be - but as you say, out of stock. I'll have a think and a look round and see what I can find.
  10. Hi, I would like to get myself a Dual-Action polisher (something like a Meguiars G220), but the trouble I have is that I live in a flat with an underground parking space - which is great for security, but not so good for anything that needs electric as there are no accessible plug sockets. Would it be an option and workable for me to get an inverter, connect it to the battery and run the polisher (and anything I decide to use in future) off this. Obviously the last thing I want to do is anything that may damage the electrics on the car, so wanted your input. I think the G220 is 550W, so if this is an option, what wattage inverter would I need? 550W+? Can I get one that is too high? Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Cheers, Wes

    Blingaling

To be honest, I have seen a lot of posts of people getting new wheels, and they're good, but nothing that made me think I want them. These are seriously cool though. I'm going to go and cut my credit card up before I have a beer!
  12. Hi, Funny you should post this. I have just bought some too for my '07. Changing the fronts looks ok, and there is definitely a post about this knocking about if you have a search for one. Actually, think this is the one i was thinking of... viewtopic.php?f=35&t=26676&hilit=indicator+guide Im thinking of ordering some LED side lights and doing these at the same time. I might be wrong (and hope I am), but I suspect the rear ones are a bumper off job - not that it looks too bad. I'm off work next week and up in the lakes, so going to do mine then - or at least thats the plan. Wes

    Rays and spacers????

+1 for 25/20 - I have these on my Rays too and got them off Chill Red (Sarah), although I know others sell them too. This thread shows a few opinions as well: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=38020
  14. Mine's Universal Silver not Gun Metal, but a couple of weeks ago I bought both the Nissan touch-up stick and a touch up kit from paints4u (http://www.paints4u.com/productsByCat.a ... egoryID=42) Nissan ordered the touch-up stick(s) based on my reg and colour code of K23 as they were out of stock. paints4u sent me the kit based on my car details and also colour code. The Nissan was ok (cost £4.95), but for me the paints4u one (£13.98 for the kit) was much better. I was really suprised how good the match was. They make up sprays and all sorts. I would certainly buy stuff from them, but still use a proper bodyshop for anything more than the odd scratch. Wes
  15. Thanks Mark, For me, this is one of the most useful posts I've read. Please PM with a cost for all of the above on a DE Up-rev that is currently completely stock. No major rush, I see you have a few people to respond to and anticipating the cost it will be a good 1 - 2 months before I could afford it! . A breakdown of the cost for each component would be good as if it is out of my price range (that being the money the girlfriend allows me to spend), I may have to postpone a couple.
  16. Looks like they removed it: 2005 - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1869582.htm 2009 - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1772529.htm Thats a strange descision on design. Still, makes my dilemma about a fix easier. £680 for a new carpet at Chorley Nissan (I know I could get cheaper scrap etc) or a rubber mat stiched in which my trimmer said he would do for £20
  17. That black plastic mat is part of the carpet, it is supposed to be there Mine doesn't have one! I wish it did as the carpet has started to wear where the previous owner didn't use a mat. Did they stop having these in the facelift models?
  18. Mine's silver and to be honest every panel looks the wrong colour if I catch it at a funny angle so it could be the camera. I must admit, most silver Zed's I've seen seem to appear to different coloured bumper's to a slight degree - it is often the appearance of the same paint on plastic versus metal. Since I have had mine, I have started noticing the difference between the metal and plastic on loads of new cars - Audi's and Vauxhall's in particular. I know other's will disagree, but for me, most second hand cars you buy need something doing to them. As long as it's not major and just tidying up I'm not too fussed. Given the style of the Zed, I would almost expect that the front bumper on an almost 7 year old car will have been resprayed, whether it be because of chips, scratches or a minor knock, so if it is out, it could just need re-seating. It looks to me as though the driver foot well carpet has a patch of some sort over the top (unless it is a very small mat), but again it doesn't take much for carpet to get worn. What I would say is I don't think the dealer pay's much attention to their ads: "MOT-10-2010" and "12 MONTHS MOT" "BREMBOW BRAKES" "5 SPOKE ALLOYS" - anyone can see they are 6 spoke Rays Go and have a look anyway if it's close, you have nothing to lose.
  19. Is that a MY07? No mate, March 07 so one of the last of the DE up-rev's. It would have been rediculously good if it were the HR engined model.
  20. Nah, it happens to some people!... Here you go, have this one viewtopic.php?f=41&t=26053 and Maz knows the Zed! That's good, but no where near on the same level. For me Waseem takes the prize if only for the number of replies pushing the issue. I noticed a few of the recent replies on other topics that Husky has quoted, some of them are priceless too. I was going to give my girlfriend my spare key in case I lose mine or lock it in, but I think I will opt for the brick method Waseem suggested.
  21. He has got to be either joking or drunk. I fail to believe someone can be that stupid sober!
  22. Hi, I paid £14.5k for mine a few weeks back. 07 GT Coupe with 22k on it. Got a 12 month warranty with it through one of them private companies. I don't think they are really worth anything, but I would make sure they sort anything that goes wrong. Not sure whether what I paid is reasonable either, but not going to lose sleep about it. Few stone chips on the bumpers to fix, but I wasnt too worried given the council seem to be digging just about every road around me up. I'm not kidding, the road outside my place is closed for 15 months! I will get them resprayed once they are done.
  23. Cheers Kev. I will have a good read over those. May still end up asking for help though !
  24. Cheers Zugara, I was going to do the same and document it, but am more than happy for you to lead the way Even if it is hard work, I think there are definitely benefits to us doing it ourselves as there may be other stuff we want to add etc. If the next topic you post is asking about dashboard repairs I will know it hasn't gone well.
  25. It sounds like there are enough of you that have done this already to offer Zugara and me a telephone help line
