  1. Would be nice to see prices as it personally give me more an idea of prices. I can understand traders not wanting make prices public if they are exclusice to our forum. Can no members access our trader's sections? If not, I think making the prices available to all members can only be a good thing. Bradders.
  2. Welcome. If you want to keep it nice I recommend the Dodo juice route. Supernatural wax works great on a GM. I'm sure Tim from Envy Valeting will sort you out. Bradders.
  3. I agree Porsche / 350Z arguments are ace. I only bought a Z as it didn't have a soft top, cause I don't have a garage. In the real world there is no difference at all. Except maybe that you won't be let out at junctions in a Boxster Visually the Z looks miles nicer too; Boxsters just don't turn heads in the same way. Bradders.
  4. Of course Gun Metal is nice! It is actually listed by Nissan as the coolest colour the Z came in and Jeremy Clarkson says so too, so it must be right. It won an award at the recent GQ awards as the coolest colour for a car too. Many here will tell you otherwise, but they will be lying. Bradders. p.s And its the fastest. GM is worth at least another 6 -7 mph and 20-30 bhp. Again don't listen to the non-believers.
  5. Captain thanks very much on that. I switched mine off this morning to test it and crashed into a ditch and it exploded in a fireball, taking the ditch with it. Actually that's not quite true at all; Z and me still alive. I can't believe how much nicer it feels, whether that is all in my head or not, but it certainly seems to corner slicker. Always thought it was not that smooth on the throttle. I don't have a heavy right foot and try to be smooth. Even if it does get lively, I have managed to catch a Merc E class in the ice and snow last winter countless time, so should be ok with dealing with a bit of oppo I'll leave on on in the wet though. Bradders.
  6. Beat me to it Vik. It was one of the reports I read prior to buying mine. For me the fact that VBH says it is one of her favourite cars of all time. Annoying or not depending or your view point, she is a bloody good driver. I'm old enough to remember seeing her racing on the club circuit. Agreed the Celica is WAAYY behind the Z is terms of err.. well everything actually. Accept the seats, but less of excuse to take heavy passengers. Welcome to the forum, hope the hunt goes well. Bradders
  7. 2 weeks for one with fine lines and 3 weeks for one that is shaded, I'm told by a bloke at work. Bradders.
  8. You must all try Audioslave - Cochise Just crank it!
  9. Apart from work colleagues trying to wind you up about it being a Datsun, can't think of a reason why not to buy a Z. Having said that they'll all want a ride in it like my mine Turned the to Bradders
  10. He's a smashing chap but just very busy. If he ain't answering there will be a very good reason for it. Bradders.
  11. the mr2 mk3 roadster was a great car, i had one and loved it, was one of my favourite cars i've ever had. the steering and handling were great the only let down was the power and storage space. storage was more an issue for my wife, but i loved it. and as for power that was easily remedied. you could turbo it for about 2-2.5k if you didn't mind doing the work yourself. as for the S2k well thats what i moved to and i have to say, i'm loving it. some of the more moronic on here will say both are hairdresser/girls cars but unless you've driven them they just don't know. yes both are down on torque compared the the zed, but i'd say the s2k is more involving to drive than the zed. with the less weight in comparison it just feels alot more like a go kart. each to their own people like what they like. i'd definitly say the s2k is worth a look. i saw a nice TT at the garage when i bought mine, and they do look nice in the interior. I agree Rich. Anyone who thinks the S2k is a hairdresser's car clearly hasn't driven one, cause as you know they are if anything they are more involving and raw than the the Z.
  12. I can imagine its a very nice car to be in, and i've only ever looked at pictures or been looking at one from the outside, never sat in one yet. I use my cruise every day on my current clio, I’m lucky enough to drive to work outside of peak times. I do find my average mpg is a lot better also with the cruise on. I will have to try and not rush to buy one just because i want one ASAP and not make the mistake of getting one without cruise. If you have not been in one or driven one, you are in for a treat. I've driven both Clio 182 and 350z, obviously, and they are VERY different. Both great, but different. Zs are a very meaty car to drive with firm steering and a rifle bolt gearchange. Clio is like a pair of tweezers compared to the Zs sledgehammer Winter is not the Zs friend. Don't even consider flexing your ankle in anything like the white stuff, otherwise you'll go sideways. Glad to hear on the insurance point. I have heard of V6 Clio being written off with only the bumper being crunched. Hope you find a good one. Remember condition and history over miles and age ;-) Bradders.
  13. Welcome to the forum. Don't want to rain on your parade firstly, but if you were turned down for a Clio V6 cause it was RWD, and you have no experience with them, why do you think they will insure you on a car that is more powerful and RWD too? I'm just saying this as I don't want you to get disappointed later on. With regards to them not feeling fast, there is that defiantely. Its down to the engine being very smooth and having a very linear power delivery. They don't have the kick in the backside that an Evo or Subaru have, but IMO they are more rewarding to drive as they have a real GT quality ride and feel to them cause of the great chassis. Hothatches and rally saloons just very feel like quick versions of the their everyday cousins. If you going to be using it on the motorway you'll be pleased though. I find people jump out of the fast lane pretty quick when you fill their rearview mirror. Bradders.
  14. Can't stand the things myself. Tell him to get a Delta Integrale. That is a car with real rally class. It'll breakdown constantly of course but who cares. Bradders
  15. Hope your search goes well. Don't rush your choice, enjoy the buying experience, and be picky. Remember what Anubis says. Quality and condition are the most important over anything else. Mileage and age are very much secondary over that. Bradders.
  16. Forget Scarts too. You shouldn't be using those at all. The picture quality is noticeably worse. Just get as many HDMIs as you can. Wouldn't bother with a Plasma either, go for LCD or LED if budget allows. I think you'll be lucky to get a 50" plus for £700, but might be wrong. LG are good value, as I believe they make alot of screen for other brands. Bradders.
  17. Things like this make be convinced that the US is there just to make the UK feel better about itself. Bradders
  18. I use Supernatural Wax(get the panel pot if want to try it cheap; I did) and Red Mist spray on my GM. Lovely finish they give. Dodo Lime Prime pre-wax. Bradders.
  19. Pistonheads classified browse which has started as i predicted 6 months after I bought the Z in Jan, is bringing up 996 C4 and Maserati 4200 GT. Or maybe a Cayman S, but they are a bit dull looking. The Masser just for the sound and I don't think it gets much better than a 4.2 Ferrari esk V8. Bradders. PS Oh just thought, a nice nick NSX would be lovely.
  20. That's all I did. You might want to Pm R35LEE, I have a feeling he has a job lot of new ones. Bradders.
  21. I seem to remember that 5 phones can be paired to it. Not sure whether 2 can be connected at the same time is different. Don't see why not though. Which phone it would pick to make an outbound call through the voice dial, I'm not sure. Would probably be the first one that connected. Bradders.
  22. Nice black 370z going to the Tyne Tunnel roundabout from Shields. Waved and got a return. And a 350z roadster in Wheatly Rocks near Leek. Reg Jil somemat.
  23. The leather ones do look nice, I agree there and I looked at GT spec too. i just didn't let it lead my decision, as I was more concerned about history and condtion. I have a Non-Bose and haven't bothered to replace it, as I don't use it much. Exhaust is a nicer sound ;-) Some aftermarket look very nice in the Z if they are a nice plain screen, can look very factory still. There are guys here that can recommend you good ones. Find a nice GT in good nick and its all good. Bradders.
  24. Ever since I've had my Z since Jan, I noticed there was a slight pulsing from the rear under braking, but thought it was just being unused to the car. The other day, with the window down, I heard a slight rubbing sound whilst braking. I looked at the rear disc and there is a slight ring of rust around it. I was thinking of getting some yellow stuffs anyway after reading reviews, and was thinking a maybe a brake skim might sort this. What do you think technical guys? I'm thinking Falcon is going to be the best place in the North East for this? Bradders
  25. IMO I'd go for a really nice Trophy in mint nick. The V6 was a real "statement" car. Whereas the Trophy was a well considered drivers car and as has been said already a far sweeter drive and faster car point to point. I've driven a Clio 182 Cup and thought it was the finest front driver ever made. I'm guessing the V6 won't look so cool when it heading at speed backwards through a hedge. Cruising downtown is another thing of course. More visual impact than a Ferrari. Bradders.
