  1. Thanks fella's, i should have known some-one would have done a project - and done a hell of a job too. Shire, your car is fantastic. Its trulely inspirational, and gun metal as well (as is mine). My plan is to gloss black my rays (and put in spacers), and gloss black the roof, along with putting on the bumper. Out of interest would you tell me how much the bumper cost - complete, as in fitted and sprayed? (tell me to get stuffed if i'm being too nosey). Also, i have been looking at exhausts, whats that you have fitted? Once again - brilliant car. Cheers, J.
  2. Anyone know what this front bumper is, or which body kit it has come from? Cheers, J.
  3. Andlid, my word that would scare anyone away! Especially the competition. A tad LOUD for me. Although had I want to wake the neighbours on my way home at night, I'd def have them just for the fun of it. It's only really loud when you put your foot down, normal driving is fine... getting a bit to loud just around 2k now though... might go and get them replaced... Then again fun to set of the alarm of my other car when I blip it... That would get an ASBO where im from!!!!! Flippin heck Andlid..... I have been thinking about this now for some time, and i am toying with the Japspeed K1 - only i wont tell the missus, i will just have to bring it home and hope she doesn't change the front door locks!
  4. Thanks for all the advice and info. I have had a look at the Detailing World web site and found some local contractors that i will get in touch with. I knew it was all a bit of a science - but not realised just how much of a science cleaning your car can be Definitly going to get help before i set too with anything. J.
  5. Am thinking of having my Rays coloured gloss balck when i get them repaired (damage by previous owner). Any-one got pics of gloss black rays? Was gonna get the roof gloss blacked to match. Is this chavvy? J.
  6. Got mine Christmas eve. This forum has privided answers to every question i can think of. Enjoy the car and welcome. J.
  7. Husky - Dodo juice is something i am hearing a lot about. Good advice on the collection build up. I think i am probably just impatient. Cheers, J.
  8. Headphones - Will try there. Cheers, J.
  9. My little animal: Name: Imogen Make: Human - ish Model: Female (temperamental - too much like her mother). Age: Born 1.5 years ago . Likes: hiding stuff and shi££ing. Dislikes: being told what to do.......
  10. P.S. i advise you don't send this thread to him, as it would appear you are looking for biased favour. Also, recommend you don't kill him - i doubt you appear in his will.............
  11. Find out who your safer neighbourhood police officer is, ring them directly and ask for advice. They will contact the relevant legal advisor (free of charge) and let you know. It is thier job to see local conflicts solved fairly. With your pics its pretty open and shut. You can ask your neighbour to obtain a price from someone they would choose - if your choice of repairer is more, you pay the difference. Either way get some cash out of them. J.
  12. I am desperatley trying not to appear thick here - but how do i get a day with a pro-detailer? Am i just going to a body shop and asking, or will i get a local dealer in my yellow paegs? Note to Ian - thats some shine, but how long am i looking at to clay and polish the car? Can it be done by an amatuer like me in 5 hours? J.
  13. As usual there are so many forums and threads i am lost with what to do! I have a 54 plate gunmetal grey 350, but its lost its shine. What do i do? Do i buy a clay bar and wax - if so what is best? Do i use a power tool polisher - if so what about the fiddly bits? Do i pay the quoted cost for getting it machine polished - but then how do i look after it? I would actually enjoy polishing the car - but only if i did it right first time. Any gunmetal owners that know how to get the best out of the colour? J.
  14. Note to Wasso, i met up with Lexx and Woody (Thanks for doing that guys) and had a look and listen to their exhausts. Lexx - 5zigen pro racer. Looked good as it was obviously an upgrade, but still quite discreet. Low noise at idle, but gave a good scream as the rev's climbed. Sounded more like a track car than boy racer. Woody - Japspeed K1. i had an immediate giddy school boy re-action when i saw it, and then had a little wee in my pants when he started the engine. Very obvious visibly, and hellishly deep loud noise. Definitly for any-one who wants to be heard and then seen. (and that was with his 'bungs' in!). My preference would be the 5zigen, as Woody pointed out his Japspeed can become annoying on motor way runs - something i do regulalry in myZ. J.

    Service Costs

Yeah, that was pretty good. i got mine back a few weeks ago. First time i had put it through a service so used a family friend. He changed the oil and included a fuel flush (P1) for £144. I will be using him for everything from now on as he did a spot on job and specialises in Japanese manufacturers. Marshbrook motors in the Norht East if you're near enough. J.
  16. In my opinion, any car car is defined by how it started out on the drawing board. Therefore corsa's and golf's that were designed to be bought by your mum to transport them around town and to the shops as hatch-backs are just that, when people started hotting up their mum's hatch (er...) then the manufacturers cashed in and hotted up wholesale versions. A 'Sports Car' was designed on the drawing board as a car to compete in, and not by definition do the shopping - and so sports car's are designed to compete, if they are to compete over distance you add a bit more refinenement like a heater and stuff, so get versions such as the GT for Grand Touring. Ergo, a hyper car is designed to create hype, and so on. It all comes down to why the bloke sitting with the blank piece of paper picked up his pen. J.
  17. Definitly keep this collection, as i had never even seen 'eyelids' before, let alone some of the wheels available. Proper little treasure trove. Not sure what's up with that Sketch person? Odd considering he started it? J.
  18. Surely these pics should be going in the club gallery - which to be honest is a bit limp (Although i might be using it wrong - won't be the first time!). No offence to any-one because the web-site and forums are fantastic, and invaluable to new owners like me. However, the first place you go when looking to spend some cash on your new pride and joy is the gallery (for idea's). Just a thought - feel free to tell me to pi$$ off. J.

    An odd request

Was looking at the Wales pics and saw these - are they what you are looking for? Don't know whose car it is mind, cos i am a newby!
  20. Just found the NE bit on the portal - Click on the map.!
  21. I could do Monday. What is the NE section? J.
  22. Address? Link? I just got mine back from Marshbrook motors off A66 near Grangetown P1. Same as above on service, etc. Next door to Marshbrook is Tees Valley Cosmetic Car repairs who just gave me a good price on bodywork repairs and mechanical polish, and wheel repairs and colouring. Both might do discount if recommended through the club. I could do with an approved list of NE suppliers, etc. if you have one? J.
  23. A NE mini meet would be excellent. This week is no good tho' - but next week i should be ok? Where would you propose getting together? J.
