  1. +1 +100 Why not use the shims because you've got pistons on each side of the rotor?! Same thing really... shims on a floating calliper with active pistons on one side only - yes I can see that helps to align the braking effort and prevent the active piston from bending the rotor as it pushes the rotor towards the inactive pad shims on a Brembo calliper with active pistons both sides - I don't see the need maybe I'm missing something ?
  2. Kids should learn to drive when they get to secondary school .... NOT on the roads obviously ...... it should be part of the school curriculum
  3. You may want to think about keeping your standard wheels for winter use, so upgrading the rear rubber wouldn't be a waste of money in the long term
  4. I don't think it's a cost effective mod ....... someone who knows more than I will be along in a moment I'm sure
  5. I can understand why you'd need shims on brakes with a floating calliper but not why they would benefit brakes such as the Brembos which have moving pistons on both sides of the rotor What ??????????? surely shims fit between the pads and the pistons
  6. so why aren't they shown in the manual ? and why aren't they fitted from new as OEM ?
  7. No shims necessary in Brembos ......

  17. You must check the offsets on Amy's wheels before you buy though ..... if the offsets aren't right you'll end up spending another £200.00 on spacers to get the right stance
