From what I remember 250@wheels will be plenty for an S12, you been on a drift day yet?

Drift day booked, DWYB at Pod in February, my wife and I both have the day off so we can finally use up some of these tyres I've been saving up.

Might be brave enough for the top track, we'll see how the figure 8's and kidney go first

  2. I'm not sure you'll get something good for your budget from a dealer, however, you should be able to find a good private sale one at your budget.

They're great cars, but look out for a well looked after (regularly serviced) one.

    :)

  3. Looks like an awful crash, as others have said, as long as you're ok the metal can be replaced.

We did look a GT86 for my wife when I pulled her 350z apart.

Got close to buying a supercharged GT86, looked at one Abbey Motorsport had built, the extra power was very tempting, but a black rose 370z roadster won in the end.

Merc appeal withdrawn. Presumably based on the FIA holding their hands up and all but admitting they made a bad call and are going to address it.

The statement released by Merc is very telling, the FIA must have admitted behind closed doors that they (Masi) made a mess of it.

I hope the steward/race control decisions get better next year because otherwise they'll lose more fans.

PD: As much as I wanted Lewis to win, I feel sorry for Max to have won in this way as the crappy decision does tarnish his win.

    Well, they are on.

    265/35/19 and 305/30/19

    All in, £1100

If its dry this weekend i'll go get them scrubbed in and clean her up a little.

Gotta say, with the spacers in addition to the extra rubber, the arches are certainly filled out....

I love the MPS4S so much more grip in the wet :)

Yeah the metal loop was bolted to the stereo holder frame through one of the bolts.

And no, no power to head unit at all. But weirdly the speaker behind the driver seat pops every now and then (the most annoying part).

I may just take it to an auto electrician like you say, there are a couple good ones in Bristol it seems.

    Cheers.

The reason for the pops is likely to be down to the separate amp being powered up but not the headunit, have you got access to a multimeter and the wiring diagram to see if power is getting to the head, it could just be a blown head sadly.

So I had the car up on the air yesterday, and I have so great new for me!

    Im 95% sure the diff  okay, and I think it's just the rear left outer CV that has broken;

When the rear wheels are off the ground and it's in gear,

    Prop shaft spins

    Right axle and wheel spins

    left axle spins

    Left wheel does not

And a squeeking/rubbing noise comes from the CV boot.

This makes alot of sense, because the diff wasnt put under and strain or abuse when I lost power. Also makes sense because one wheel won't spin, so as far as the car is aware wheel speed is zero on one wheel. Hence the slip light. I was gonna replace the CV joint but it's more/as expensive as a whole second hand axle so... New axle it is 👍

With if off the floor it wouldn't see any real load, so even totally knackered there'd probably be enough to push one or more wheels around.

As @ZMANALEX said, if you've done the same thing with the wheels on the floor and the prop spins but you get no drive, it must be the diff.

How are you measuring speed? GPS signal to gauges? Or do you have a hall sensor hooked up somewhere.

    Looking good.

Good question, as I'd already swapped out the front to a hybrid S13 (Hubs, Knuckles, Brakes, coilovers) /S14 (tension rods, LCA, Tension rod Brackets) (although Abbey did have to fit longer tensions rods from an R33(?) as the castor was crazy), I had the ABS sensor on the S13 Hubs/Knuckles, so we're using that, it's mega accurate.

Thanks, I'm very happy with how she came out :)
