  1. see, its not really that people spell badly, or use poor grammar or anything else. It's the fact that I think I have started to judge people from this, that's what I'm getting at. It's wrong, I know it is, but i just can't help it. PS: Sarnie, that's spot on what I'm talking about.
  2. i kind of zoned out half way through, it was ok though. not a chart topper for me but good.
  3. I feel bad that I do judge, I never used to, but over time I guess I have picked up this bad habit. Although actual spelling problems come across differently to laziness I think...
  4. oh lord, you have just brought a new insight to part of my childhood... I take it your dad was a military man who checked your homework? If not I'm intrigued..... ohh yes. What you typed there made it all come flooding back  Whole fricken essays proof read. I remember once having a "discussion" saying that I simply couldn't put "this presentation will tell" in place of my original "this presentation will show" because I was only in primary 6 and as much as I agreed he was correct the teacher would stop believing it was my own work
  5. Bugbear, you learn something new every day

  7. My boss wrote on my end of year review, he had to comment on each section under the paragraph or so I had written. Bearing in mind this is important stuff for my career I was more than annoyed to find; spelling mistakes, half sentences and next to zero punctuation. I think I would need a new job or a hammer to end my suffering
  8. It may be bad but I've found more and more that I do these days. I don't so much judge people on the miss spelling of difficult words or missing capitalisations or even punctuation, but things like "text speak" drive me nuts. I actually find myself having a low opinion of someone if they really can't communicate properly in writing. First impressions count I guess and spelling badly is a good way to make people think you are a clueless moron. One massive bug bear is the spelling in the title of a thread. This is going to be the first thing anyone looks at regarding what you are asking, they will read it and consider if it is worth their time to help you out. If you can't be bothered to check the spelling of the title or even use words in the correct order then why do you expect people to help? A topic title like "was you happy wen you brought your zed" sits there and stares at me... Is it wrong that I judge people like this before I've even met them?
  9. i think it would have sounded similar to the hedgehog issue if the person was a heavy smoker

  13. Alas it's usually having to press something before inserting, that's just to much effort I say.
  14. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/news ... rofit.html and there are some utterly epic cars coming out soon too
  15. I don't know ash, sometimes I hear a hint of German in the office!
  16. rim size makes no difference on gearing as you use different size tyres on them to give the same circumference.
  17. and sorry to make a barrage of ideas here but replace all the titles with: Engines = Strong Engines Transmission options = Smooth transmissions luggage space = Maximum Storage Fuel consumption = Great MPG 0-62MPH speed = Pulling Power
  18. and completely agree with this, no one cares what 0-60 of a kiddie wagon is, they care about safety, pulling power and luggage space
  19. was about to say exactly the same, way to much info on one page. I understand it is to get info across but needs to be in the most efficient manner. taking the top bit as an example would it be better like this? Engine: PETROL: 1.6 OR 2.0 (optional Stop/Start on 1.6) DIESEL: 1.5 OR 2.0 DCI with DPF (optional Eco on 1.5) Transmission: MANUAL: 5 OR 6 Speed AUTO: 6-speed Luggage Space: 900mm X 1100mm x 505mm (Length Width Height) not really any difference in the information but simpler to read, you want a diesel engine, you can see it has one and then you can see what sizes they are, if you care about them having DPF or eco then you can read that, if you wanted a petrol though it is easy to skim past the diesel options without it looking confusing? just a thought.
