Sure there will be other difference and the breaking distance is something that could help in every day driving, but that would be because the driver was too close...but back to the other different handling characteristics. I still find it hard to believe that the everyday driver can drive on our roads in a way that these would be exploited to the point where they will make a difference (I am still referring to the front and back issue and not the difference between budget a quality tyres). Now if you can drive to the point where the characteristics would be exploited then my argument fails...
  8. I am forced to watch all of the bloody TV shows.. I would rather be watching the NFL

I am not saying that budget tyres are better because they are clearly not, the original point I was referring to was mixing back to front (IMHO) wouldn’t make a huge difference to the average daily driver (the fact that I have some budget tyres on doesn’t matter). If you were to lose control it would be the lack of ability or knowledge of the car that would be the more of a problem, than the compound of the tyre etc. However, better tyres could make a marginal difference and improve the ability of the car to save the daily driver…so I suppose then they would be worth it.
  10. That's true, I'd forgotten about those... I couldn't find anyone selling them locally. They would help a lot with the remote connection. I would still rather go for a good soldered joint for the ground, personally. I like those but when i have had to adjust i have done in the past they are a git to get off and make a mess of the wire!

Sure, take your point. But then you would need a soft tyre to provide the kind of control you are refering to, which wouldnt last as long...my point is that i dont think it is as big as deal as people make out, you driving ability is more likely to let you down.

Well i did say it was not too much of an issue if i push my car to the point that i lose it i would think it would be down to the lack of my driving skill of a higher performance car rather than the rubber that is providing the friction keeping me there.

the mixing front and back i dont see as too much of an issue and if you hit ice etc i dont think any tyre is going to stop you and mixing wouldnt change this. I have been running what they call budgets tyre on the back of my Zed with not problems at all, but this could be down to my driving. Anyway, as you said its all up to choice!
  14. Well, my expectations for sound quality and volume were set pretty low... this way of changing the headunit means you're still using the Bose amplifier and obviously I haven't changed any speakers, so I figured the sound wouldn't change much. However, I have been very surprised at how much of an improvement there is! The quality is improved and the sound seems fuller. The balance of sound is improved. I guess the bass is better controlled at the source, as the sub isn't as wooly. So yes, IMHO this is a great improvement over the stock Bose system, I'm really pleased with it Cool, i saw you had to change the wiring but did most of it plug straight in? and did the steering wheel controls still work?
  15. Is this system much better than the Boss GT pack?

Does the mix of tyres really matter to the everyday driving? I would love to know our hard people push their cars on a daily basis? I love pushing the car, but from what i have read on here and knowledge of the car i dont push it anywhere close to the limited. So again, does the tyre mix really matter that much? Tolerrance are so close these days that if you are pushing so hard on normal raods that heat in the tyre makes a difference then you need to check if you have strayed on to a track!
