  1. Helllloooooooooooooo........I'm a Norwich Zed so may pass you at some point once you get yours.

GM all the way.....don't go down the azure route, you'll regret it! :scare: Controversial!!!

Is your ST modified heavily? may have seen you around!

We are all a friendly bunch really.

  2. tobys, BACON here. I live about 20 miles from Norwich but work in the city........travel in every day!

Riding on stock suspension with 60k on the clock so I'm sure mine is no better than yours but happy to meet for a comparison if you're worried.

May have to clean her first though......can't really turn up looking scruffy

  3. Vreds all the way....love them!

Had my rears replaced for the Vreds on 10th December 2010 as these were right on the minimum limit and the front were not available but still had a couple of mm.

Requested my local stockist ordered these immediatley after fitting my rears and to contact me once thye arrived......hopefully in 2 weeks time (Xmas approaching it was estimated to move into first week of Jan 2011).

Spoke to the stockist every 2 weeks for an update.

In the end I was so desperate.......tyres failed the MOT and after persuading the MOT tester to pass the Zed with the assurance the tyres were being replaced........which they did 4 weeks later :scare: I had the Vreds actually fitted on the day they arrived!!!

    Any guesses when this was???

Yep.....3 weeks ago on 3rd July 2011 :scare: I know that is a long time to wait; almost gave up hope and was going to switch all 4 corners back to Bridgestone.

The issue was that the tyres are imported directly from Norway and they have been experiencing a high demand in their own country so they had no need to fulfill any demands in any other country including the UK.

My stockist in Norwich actually managed to secure my front 2 after contacting Vredestein with a plea stating that I wished to stick with the previously purchased tyres and brand and would use no other tyre. I did I'm afraid to say spin a little white lie or story :headhurt: about what I did in the transport industry and altogether it seemed to work :#1:

Going forward they may become more readily available as demand in Norway reduces. Internet sites I searched included the highly mentioned 'Camskill' but also tried reliable sources such as 'Elite' and if they are struggling to source the Vreds then no-one will secure them.

If you can get them.....Vreds all the Way......just ask Rtbiscuit!!!

  4. Yep.....not my cup of tea

Reminds me of the styling, colour and overall appearance of a Peugeot 306 that was on the front cover of Max Power about 10 years ago......same exterior colour, stance and the inside was a sicky colour yellow on the inside just to realy make it look awful!!!!

  5. Welcome Darjo86 :welcome:

I spent at least 18 - 20 months searching for the right Zed.........without doubt the wait will soon be forgotton once you are able to drive the amazing motor every day......no better feeling than driving this brilliant piece of engineering.

  6. Welcome to the crew!

I went through the same worries as you.......I commute 25 miles to and from each day and half of that is urban driving  . The daily running cost is sometimes scary; I seem to stop at the garage for petrol every other day but you do learn to drive more sensibly when your wallet becomes lighter!!! Servicing varies hugely depending upon which period is required, PI, P2 or P3 but with a little shopping around it's no more than you would expect for a performance motor.

Even after all that you can't beat the feeling you get every morning when you catch a glimpse of you baby out of the window and the feeling you get when approaching her to get in......I can't explain it but you get a tingly feeling all over because you know this car is a Great, Great car and a hoot to drive!!!! :teeth:

Best car I've ever had......do it you won't be disappointed!

  7. I believe as Beau as mentioned, generally Cat D is some form of accident damage that has been recorded through the insurance firm. Only issue being the level of damage cannot be easily determined without certainly checking the motor with a fine tooth comb and doing your research into it's history if at all possible.

If it was me......I wouldn't touch it!!!

  8. Just dont what ever you do go to a nissan dealer - they will charge you an arm and a leg. Get one from the traders here is your best bet

Yeah....probably a "Banana Arm and a Leg":lol::lol: they don't like just replacing just the bushes at the stealerships as far as I can tell from investigations!

  9. I have just had a similar issue with the completely useless designed dipstick!!!

Driving the Zed over past few days I just knew something wasn't quite right......I couldn't put my finger on it but something seemed not to be 100% and she seemed slightly slugish.

I knew the Zed was coming up to the 9k service reccommendation but with work being really busy....soon enough a few hundred miles had crept onto the clock with my high daily mileage and before I had noticed I was 1500 miles over the service mark :scare:

With the service point passed and the Zed feeling unusually slow, I booked the service on Friday for today (12th) and thought I best not use her over the weekend! Started the Zed on Monday for one last day of careful driving before the service when all of a sudden the MI light flashed on the dashboard :scare: ....not happy and rather scared that my hectic work had possibly caused a very expensive problem to my pride and joy I called the garage for advice.

They told me to take it straight into them as long as I thought I could make the 25 mile journey.........told to stick to 40mph and not to accelerate or brake heavily to prevent stress. After my most stressful trip ever I eventually arrived at the garage and left my Zed for 2 days whilst they investigated the problem and gave her the well-deserved P2 service.

Now with the Zed back in my possession, the stress has been reduced :) service complete and MI light has gone out so fingers crossed it was just my Zed telling me to get a service and top up the very...very...very low oil level.....mechanics said I almost ran it dry :scare:

So if I could offer anyone a small piece of advice it would be to "check your oil level every week and if you cannot seem to get a proper reading just get it checked regularly by the Pro's!!!"

  10. This is all under the misguided impression that the dipstick is actually usable, which it isn't, at least in this dimension. Seems as though it was designed by a 2 year old with a crayon... .in his mouth...during an earthquake...whilst on a rollercoaster. Stupid thing it is.

    +1 :lol::lol::lol:

  11. MINT

I know how you feel with the morning after dust, dew and muck........so frustrating. I spent at least 6 hours the other day cleaning my baby......the missus was not amused....then the inevitable happened......it rained :angry::angry: I was so pi**ed I think I sulked all night long!!!

I wish my standard rims were as tidy as yours....mine have horrific kerbage (completed by previous owner I must admit).

  12. ...the pedal seems to move a good inch very easily without any significant force being required, then the pedal has to be pushed in to the floor under the usual force for gear changes!!!

Sounds like mine originally... Tons of slack before you actually start applying pressure to the master cylinder.

There's a bolt that allows you to adjust the position of the pedal when released. I lowered my pedal taking out the slack and changing gear became a hell of a lot easier!

I can't find any pictures but this thread may be of use: http://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/128253-high-clutch-want-to-lower-your-clutch-engagement-point.html

Thanks Irh........I've read the thread listed as well as the connecting threads and this seems to be the exact problem; very common if not standard on all 350z's and should be an easy fix.....even for a complete non-mechanic like me!

I'm so excited I wanted to do it now....then realised it was nearly midnight, pitch black with no outside lighting opportunity and it's now p*ssing it down :scare: perhaps it can wait until the morning

  13. Sorry to hijak the thread but I have some worries with my clutch as it nows seems very strange!

When exerting pressure onto the clutch pedal, the pedal seems to move a good inch very easily without any significant force being required, then the pedal has to be pushed in to the floor under the usual force for gear changes!!! :headhurt:

Is this anything to worry about or does it need some adjustment with setup as previosuly mentioned in other replies???

    Any assistance greatly recieved.

  14. Welcome Jeff,

I've been a member now for a few months and I can honestly say the guys and gals on this forum are absolute diamonds! :#1:

I've learnt a huge amount about my Zed and if there's something you need to know, there's always a member who can lend assistance and guidance. The search button is our biggest friend but sometimes a random question is the only way forward.

Welcome to the mad house :welcome:

  15. WOW..................that's mega, very cool B)B)B)

I can't believe how much just having your Zed wrapped has changed the whole look, seems like a completley different car.

What kind of price bracket are we talking to have a job like this completed?

Did they do the handles and wheels in the gloss black as well or were they already this colour?
