  1. Redbull are in a different league at the moment, even at Monza with it being the Ferrari stomping ground they seem to be by far the best package :yahoo: . I just wish my boy Webber could get in front of Vetts and hold him there; needs to step onto that top step of the podium!

In relation to the point continuously ranted about by EJ......I appreciate it is frustrating that these teams are under performing but it is almost like the step up from the Championship to the Premiership these days; the gap is massive and the top 4 teams just have such enormous budgets behind their development. Every race their cars have developed to another level whereas Lotus for example have a very similar car to the start of the season. If anything the gap has widened as the season continues.

Particularly sad as based very close to the (proper) Lotus factory (not the Renault with a Lotus badge) and see the support team, mechanics and engineers every day and I just wish they could become more competitive!

  2. I'm still undecided on gloss black, matt black or carbon

I am still waiting for someone to use the Hexis in alligator skin finish

Yeah you maybe waiting a little longer still

  3. Patience is deffo key.

I'd recommend using Hexis Vinyl over 3M tho.

From the research across the forum I have done over the past few weeks, it seems the Hexis vinyl is the way forward....3M used to be the best but the Hexis is seen as the front runner at the moment. Many topics on here surrounding this product with pictures to assist; some of the threads even have fitting instructions to help you out. The 'search' button is your friend!:thumbs:

I believe the hexis is believed to be harder wearing and easier to apply.

If you need a source for the hexis, PM the forum member Rich or his username rtbiscuit, he should be able to supply whatever finish or colour you choose.

Post ya pics on here if you take the dive.

  4. .............

I've also got a GM zed and I initially thought the gloss finish as I'm intending on getting the hatch tinted in limo so thought it would match up (inspired by "Attack") ............

Who followed in my footsteps ;)

    TRUE

Guys it is your 2 x Zeds that inspire me! B)

Hope mine can look something similar one day when funds allow. I also have your motor Shire as another screensaver

  5. Oh no.....now you've gone and done it!

I've been thinking about getting mine wrapped for ages but just cannot decide whether Gloss, matt or carbon effect would be best :bangin:

I've also got a GM zed and I initially thought the gloss finish as I'm intending on getting the hatch tinted in limo so thought it would match up (inspired by "Attack"); then decided after seeing a few carbon finished pics from Rich (rtbiscuit) that Carbon was a definite and now over the past few days I've began thinking perhaps a Matt was best so that I could also do the mid section on front bumper & rear spoiler......

You're pics now take me full circle......ahhhhhhh. I suppose one benefit, if I hate whatever I choose then I can start again! ;)

  6. Buster, I hope you don't mind me asking but what level of tint have you got on your Zed?

I'm looking to get mine tinted and yours looks sweet  was thinking of limo tint from the b-pillar back but I dont think I can put any tint forwards from this due to the new restrictions.....as far as I'm aware the front side windows are almost at the limit from standard.

Any advice or guidance welcome! ;)

  7. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Look on Auto-trader, and find cars like yours. Price it higher if you think you can get more, lower if you think its in worse condition or are desperate for a quick sale.

These "whats it worth" or "thinking of selling" threads seem somewhat pointless to me.

Lexx...I thought this was the idea of a forum to help other members with their questions and queries?

    Absolutely.

My reference was more to the opinion of not being sure if they want to sell or not.

You either want to sell or not. If you do, you place and advert. If you dont want to sell, you do nothing.

And pricing what a car is worth isnn't difficult. 5 minutes on Autotrader is all it takes.

Fair point Lexx  .....I do completely agree with what you're saying; surely you either know if you're going to sell or not and if people are only thinking of selling up to perhaps make a profit.....then they're in the wrong place!

As for the price, I always find for the 350z pricing Piston Heads is the best place to search as the motors tend to be listed by enthusiasts or specialist dealers so more likely to find a good example or spectrum in price. Autotrader tends to have as you've mentioned the poorly written adverts with limited pictures attached.

  9. Near side pipe is definitely positioned further out from the bumper and this makes it seem lower as well.......if it was me I would take it back. If they are as good as you say they won't mind you returning the vehicle and will almost certainly feel embarrassed at their mis-alignment!

    Good luck

  10. Heres the pic i promised to take of the handle and door pillar.

Mint wrapping.....I have a GM and now defo want to get these both wrapped! Was also hoping to get the Zed tinted.....what grade of tint did you opt for and what sort of price would I be expecting; had a quote this week for B-pillar backwards of £130???

  11. This afternoon I was heading into Attleborough in Norfolk around 16.30.....heading under the A11 Norwich to Thetford fly-over, when (the missus spotted it even before me) an amazing looking 350z!!!! B)B)B)

Very heavily and nicely modified.....I couldn't tell the age as I missed the plate as it emerged from the shadows but I believe it may have been a pre-facelift.

Very low to the tarmac, sitting on wide black rims, tinted windows and the most amazing Japanese artwork on what seemed to be a white wrapped exterior. Definitely the best 350z I've seen on the road and could be compared to some of the lovely motors shown on the forum.

I was even more excited that he was waving to me.......rather than me initiating a wave as per normal to get a blank, strange glance from the other driver whilst my wife just laughs at my attempts!!! This time even Clare thought the 350z salute was cool!!! :yahoo:

  12. And another thing that drives me mad...

In the following situation: when you are on a dual carriageway, and the outside lane is coned off about half a mile or so in the distance, everyone is queued up in the left lane only, making the queue twice as long as it needs to be, you drive down the outside lane as it is empty - then some muppet pulls out of the left lane and parks in the right lane, just to stop you getting past! Does he own the road??! What does he stand to gain by this? The idea is that you merge in turn at the obstruction!

    rant over

I would fundamentally disagree here. Everybody can see the obstruction, everybody politely queues up to get past and the idiots who feel they can use this as an opportunity to "overtake" and bypass everybody are incredibly annoying. Everybody else is just being sensible about it rather than pushing past each other just right by the cones.

The Highway Code actually says merge in turn, but if the outside lane is empty then the proper thing to do is get in the inside lane. You arent "merging in turn", you are beeing bloody impatient and holding up the people who are already queueing. :)

So if the queue is almost backed up to the previous roundabout, you should keep filling up the inside lane?

I'm not saying I push in at the last moment because that is just rude, but do you think its right that someone decides to block off the outside lane hundreds of meters from the cones just because they feel like it? Do they think they are some sort of hero?

If everyone just used both lanes and merged in turn then there wouldn't be a long queue, and everyone would still get past it in the same time?

I totally agree with you 'mc' ......those drivers that decide to queue (sometimes several miles before the said obstruction) are actually causing a new obstruction and more often than not cause a seperate incident or accident in an attempt to make the back of the queue........rather than just reducing their speed gradually and merging into the inside lane at the given point signposted. The warning signs count you down in distance for a reason.

Those at the front end of the queue seem to forget that behind them the queue is ever increasing (particularly during peak times) and eventually the static or slow moving traffic will actually pass the first posted warning signs; thus it is not always evident to the most recent vehicles why there is even a queue.

This may be controversial :scare: .....but those who wish to queue for such lane closures rather than making full use of the given road are simply 'dimwits' and when those who then decide to pull out in a dangerous fashion in some form of an attempt to block......well I feel they should be dealt with firmly by the law. This is a blatant attempt to cause harm to vehicle or passengers!! If they choose to queue, that is their right but don't expect everyone to share your viewpoint.

This very situation occured recently and I was forced to take avasive action almost crashing the Zed into the central reservations at 40mph......the missus was so upset.......if you want to take me on in this manner and put the well-being of my wife and I in jeopady, expect the consequences!

  13. Incidentally

I'm selling my Tanabe, midpipe and backbox practically new for £675

Or if your looking for similar tips to that in the pic then I couldn't recommend the Greddy Spectrum Elite more.

    Gorgeous exhaust B)

Did someone say "Greddy Spectrum Elite" ? :#1:

    viewtopic.php?f=62&t=49115

After about 2000miles the Greddy and the Stillen Y-Pipe are bedded in and sound fooking awesome on WOT! Nice and quiet pootling, but when you use the loud pedal the noise is :cloud9:

GF was sat behind me in her Mini when i launched the Zed from some traffic lights on a dual carriageway - she flashed me twice! Got to our destination and i was bricking it thinking the car was smoking etc.....but apparently the flashing was to let me know the exhaust system sounds "gorgeous"

Did she get a sound clip? ;)

  14. I LOVE pizza express! It's the only place that do pizza thin enough for me to eat a whole one! And as for dough balls and garlic butter.......

I actually agree with Lexx on this one, Pizza Express not great........Prezzo's is an alternative, far superior and also available on the Clubcard scheme  Recently took the family, 18 in total out for dinner and treated them all.....all paid for on clubcard vouchers :teeth:
