I run a K1, I personally love the look of it and the sound of it but only with the bungs in!
Take out the bungs and its like Defcon 5 just way too loud.
Bunged up its 93.7Db at 5K and unbunged its 104.2Db!!!!
I have been considering getting a middle box put in it so I can take the bungs out and then have a really quiet exhaust for long journeys.
Steve, I have just blown a rather large hole in my exhaust pipe, just before the back box where there is a join Having it welded up today to get me through my up-coming MOT but keen to get a new system and been reading reviews on the K1!
It seems there are many varying view points on this system and its noise potential........coming from an actual owner of this system, would you say it is good for a daily user? I use my Zed and love driving my Zed everyday and I do like from previopus motors to have a lively exhaust tone but is the K1 just that little bit too much?
You mention the DB ratings with and without bungs but how would these compare to the standard OEM exhaust DB?
Any assistance greatly appreciated

I bought my Zed back in December 2009 and this motor had been up for sale a good few months before this!
Not my cup of tea or perhaps many others either if its still being advertised.

Nice......there are some advantages to get old then!!!
Looking forward to it already!
Just renewed mine last week and it had gone up by 100% from 400 notes to 800 I couldn't believe it; I knew from reading similar posts on the forum and other Zed members experiences that there was a likely to be a hike coming but 100%, are they taking the p**s?
Just before mine was due the wife's went through the roof also, so all in all last month was not a good month at all .
I did negotiate and haggle with the "Flux" and manage to get them down to 600 notes but still an increase year on year of 50% which is not good in anyones eyes.
The reasoning I was given by the customer service representative was that the company they dealt with last year and I was insured with, had decided not to deal with them this year and therefore my policy had to be moved to the "next best quoting company"........supposingly......I'm not synical or anything but not sure I believe them!

I always know when I really need to get the wash mitt and kit out.....when I start leaving little finger slide prints on the lids edge!!! Not a good look!

No hills involved in getting to LakeZ, its barely off the M6!
SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've told her its got more hills than the Alps!!!
Someone delete this post immediately!
I must admit I had to re-read Carla's post.....I thought she said she couldn't drive up in "Heels"....going along the whole feminine route and the sarcasm that followed!!!
Makes a bit more sense now but Ricey....you must realise when you get to the Lakes and have somehow bypassed the forementioned "Alps", Carla is not going to be best pleased with ya!!!

I can Carbon Wrap rear strut covers for people if they would like me to. i already do B pillars on an exchange basis, and have some other new bits coming soon, happy to start doing the rear strut covers as well.
Defo to that idea would be very interested. Rich have you got any idea on cost for these if you start covering them regularly?

Dream on......
Womens insurance is going up due to a "sexist" loophole.
Insurance as a whole is just going up and up.
Just had a quote for my wifes beetle. £259.89 if I buy direct from Sheilas Wheels, £209.34 if I buy from Sheilas Wheels via confused.com.
They wont even match their own internet price when i called them to ask why a renewal is more expensive. How mad is that?
How mad is that!!! When you consider "confused.com" must be making a margin as well and therefore "Sheila's Wheels" will pocket even less of the final premium!!!

Zena!!!
Beautiful, aggressive, strong lines, powerful but a softy when you get to know her and become one with her......named after "Zena the Warrior Princess".

I agree with the whole thing about stopping uninsured drivers but if it applies to SORN vehicles as well that's just bonkers.
I agree!!! The more uninsured 'Pricks' on our roads the likelihood is that our premiums may come down a tad!

I appreciate your help! I could not source one, all the sellers on here didn't have any. I got a new one from Nissan for £84 including VAT (Normal dealer price: £96).
Hassan, however much do Nissan charge for their V.A.T. these days do they not conform to the goverments new 20% tax???

I love your interior bud and I have been looking to get my gear knob upgraded to one of those beauties from Kta.......out of curiosity which model is this that you have selected, is this the Aluminium or Stainless variety?
Your choice from Kta appears far shorter than those pictured on the forum, is this a new design?
Thanks,

The roads have been very greasy recently due to the sudden hot/cold changes, one day on the way home from work i thought something was wrong with the car as the TC kept kicking in, it was fine once i got some heat into the tyres though.
It's been great over here in Norwich this week...dry sunny days with lovely dry roads but wow its been chilly in the morning.
I left the other morning in a fairly spirited fashion thinking the roads were pretty good until I had one of the above mentioned "tail" moments....all I can say is "that ESP" gismo is bloody good stuff certainly straightened me up quick right!
I started to worry I had perhaps done something wrong or a tyre had lost loads of air but I agree it was probably just a bit greasy with it still being early morning and little heat in the new Vredesteins!!!

Welcome to the mad house......if there's anything you need to know just ask because I can guarantee from my experience over the past few months, there's some very clever and knowledgeable guys and gals on here!

It's certainly different looking.......but I'm guessing this is a concept car and the final car won't actually look much like this at all.

My 2007 has two knobs on the driver side. It also has two electronic controls for the driver and just one for the passenger.
My 2005 GT Zed has 2 knobs on the side of both seats and in regards to the electronic controls it has two buttons on the drivers seat and one on the passenger!
Moving onto the heated part of the seats; both the base and back of the seats should heat up with the facility activated. If you click the centre console "rocker switch" located in front of the cubby hole at the back, then the seat is on a low heat and sporadically heats up to give a lower setting. If you click the button at the front, the heat is far more instant and intense so just all depends upon how cold it is!
I tend to rock my seats onto high when I first get in my Zed on a cold morning to heat the cold leather and then once the car is nice and snug after a few miles I generally rock the heat onto a lower setting or off altogther!!!
Hope this helps.

Very Cool ......I see it didn't take you long to update ya signature!!!

Tip 1 - carpet on the wall.
Tip 2 - window down to get out.
Tip 3 - have someone guide you in first time then make reference points as to how far to go next time.
All the above are great ideas but not always viable depending upon the garage.
When we moved house last year, one of my requests was to have a decent garage as I had never been able to put my car in a garage and I was just in the process of purchasing my Zed so this became even more important.
The perfect house was found and it did have the stand alone garage and drive-way........so all happy. It wasn't until we moved and I tried to place her away on the first night I discovered the issue.
Well I'm a thin chap and even with placing the Zed as far to the left side of the garage as humanly possible and with all of the above points listed; I still couldn't actually get put of the car once parked. I reckon I had about 3 inches to get out of the car and I'm not even this thin.
So all in all I wasnt particularly happy......wifey over the moon though as her BM now has it's very own garage.....jealously is not my best side!!!

No one told me any where in the guides that you had to have hands like a small goat !!!!
I did the half arsed way and put the whhel on full lock and removed a few screws which left just enough room for my hoof to pull out the sidelight ...
I have the best lighting mod now as two fingers are stuck in the light surround lol !!!
Im typing this with stumps
So anyone doing this mod in the future take the wheel off and do it properly lol
Stumpy gav . . .
Any pics to show us after your work?
That's of the LED improvement not ya knuckles!!!
