  1. Why not get a dog? Cats won't be around to your house then!!! As for people not agreeing with spraying cats with water - can't see why not. I'm sure they'll get the message pretty quickly and it won't do them any harm??? (For the record we have x2 cats and x2 German Shepherds so I do like animals. Wouldn't tolerate the cats walking around on the car though - they'd get turfed off pretty sharpish and shouted at!!!)
  2. Ok it must have been a lack of patience on my part! The father-in-law managed to change the bulbs from the engine bay in 10 min
  3. All sorted! Thanks guys! Can't beat the level of service you get on this site
  4. Hey! Was that you I saw in Westburn Avenue in Inverurie on Sunday?!!! I was in the silver Zed. My (future) father-in-law was giving me a hand fit some spacers!
  5. Superb - thanks. Ok back to work!
  6. Guys - in need of some help here. Car is jacked up at the moment and we were just about to fit the front spacers. However, there is some sort of locating bolt in the way of the spacer fitting on the hub? Do you just take it off? Whats it for?
  7. Just attempted to change the front indicators in my car. The first post mentions that it is useful to have small hands but come on!!! I would say I have average sized hands but there is not a hope I can change the bulbs by just removing that nut at the front to get some extra wiggle room. There's a little plastic triangle right in your way! I don;t think I could have moved the light forward much more? Looks like it will be a wheel arch liner out job for me as suggested by Russ. Hopefully fitting my Kudos spacers as well today so might as well catch it all at once Chris
  8. Ok just saw the latest picture of the Civic with the silver Alloygator. It does stick out quite a bit. I suppose you could always shave it back a bit like they do in the promo video on the website. Maybe this defeats the purpose but surely you don't need it to stick out that much?? I suppose you need it to come out that much if you're crashing into curbs rather than just touching them??
  9. Loving this post. I've wanted to see what black Rays look like on a blade Zed... Something which I am considering myself. Any chance of some more pictures at distance when you get a chance. It would also be good to see what the profile looks like - how far do they stick out? Must say I think the red lip will makes it look a lot more interesting. Alloy gator seems like a good idea to me - not sure what happens when you kerb a black refurbed alloy - a big silver mark underneath?!!! Chris
  10. Whats the durability of the 476s like? I might get a pot of that for my car and give it a go... What do you mean by keeping it warm? Do you heat it up on the radiator before you put it one or something? Bear in mind I am in Aberdeen so more likely than not it will be cold when I am applying it!!!
  11. I've heard a lot of people swear by collinite. I normally use Meguiras Tech Wax on my car but find it only lasts for 5 - 6 weeks. I've heard that Collinite is one of the harder wearing waxes. I bought a pot of Collinite 915 for my Dad as he just got a new silver Audi A5 and we thought we'd give it some protection. We put it on a bit thick at first and found it very difficult to take off. On the subsequent panels we used much less but it was still very difiicult to take off compared to any other waxes I have used. It took the two of us 1.5 hours to do the whole car! If the wax lasts 6 months then it wil easily have been worth it but it was a hard slog. We lest the wax for 5 minutes on each panel until it was dry to the touch but it was very diificult to buff off - is this normal?
  12. Just went up to try and convince my buddy to buy a new 370Z and discovered that Evans Halshaw in Langstracht now have two 370Zs; a light blue convertible and no. 28 of the Black Editions! Jet black with red leather and dark anthracite wheels - it's a must see!!! I think I wee'd a little when I saw it
  13. Does this mean that even using a solution of Meguiars NXT Shampoo that is too concentrated will start to strip my wax layer off the car? I normally put a big bollop of the stuff in my ucket without measuing it Chris
  14. Spacers look great Any chance of some more side on pictures of the car with the refurbed wheels? Would also be good if you could get a couple of close ups of the silver rims! I like the standard wheels so I reckon a refurb is a better option than new rims! Cheers, Chris
  15. The missus was watching coronation street tonight and I was having a look There's some dude in a swish silver A8 these days. Anyway he was pulling up the kurb in one scene and there's a horrific crunch as he takes off half the front alloy on the curb. The whole car gives a little shudder as he works it along the curb! Ah the pain!!! He must have got a slap from the producer after that!!!!
  16. Have you reset your mpg before you do your motorway driving? If you haven't reset it for some time then it will change very slowly. I also noticed a bigger difference than I expected at higher motorway speeds. Usually I do 85 mph (GPS speed) and get 28mpg. However, I recently did a journey at 60 mph and got 32.5mpg.
  17. Has a terrible dream last night where I completely lost control of the Zed on a corner and wrote it off. For some reason I came out without a scratch but the Zed was mangled. Very upsetting stuff!!! Any one else ever had this experience?!!!
  18. Cheers Stew. Will need to get down to the next meet in Stonehaven!!!
  19. I did clay the car about two months ago, followed by a coat of polish and then a coat of Tech wax. The beading is not as good now- the longevity of the Meguiars wax mustn't be the best. Yes I know collinite etc! I'll get a tin of it before I embark on my next waxing session although I'm still not convinced about being able to buff it off in the damp weather....I'll give the quick detailer a go if it isn't coming off properly. Thanks, Chris
  20. Hey Stew, whenever I try and put wax on it becomes difficult to get off in the damp weather. After it dries to a haze I just end up smeraing it all over the place - can never get it off properly. Last experience was with Meguiars Tech wax. Would one of the harderwaxes be easier to buff off?
  21. A couple of questions on washing the car... 1) I normally wash the car with warm water - a bit easier on the hands especially at this time of year. Does this wear away the wax coating quicker? 2) I think it has got too damp/cold to wax the car at this time of the year. Anyone recommend any wash'n'wax type products? Cheers, Chris
  22. I have only seen 2 GT-Rs in Aberdeen and have yet to see a 370Z on the road around the city???? In my office there are at least 4 new TTs and one old TT. I have the only Z So are we going to see more of these cars in the new year do you reckon?
  23. Go on Johnny Evans ya legend! Ya I saw that dude brushing his teeth!!! What was that all about?!!!
  24. He's from Alabama....
