  1. Ah i see, i'll have a look at the top mounts of the OEM shocks too see what the differences are. That's what i was also thinking, that the there is a slight movement, which i don't think is a good thing long term. I'll try that and see what happens about setting them to max stiffness and lessening them off, yeah mine isn't particularly loud nor does it happen all the time, it just doesn't sound right when it does happen. I was thinking of buying some Eibach ARBs, bushings and droplinks, but if anyone has some more advice on this it would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Hey there guys, anyone able to point me in the right direction as to why after fitting BC coilovers all round i have suddenly gotten a clunking sound that seems to emminate from the top of the coilovers, well it sounds like it comes from there but it could very well be lower down. The sound is akin to like hooves on pavement if you can get what i mean. I've tried to pin point how it makes the sound while driving to see what kind of bumps make it but haven't been able to narrow it down to stuff like hard bumps or sharp depressions, other than that it's fine. It is lowered on 19's. Could it be the rear drop links? Or some problem with the actual coilovers?
  3. Hey Andy, good to see ya pipe up! Still haven't see ya driving around yet, no doubt i will do.
  4. We don't have car tax/road tax over here
  5. Swissvax is good, i use their car bath opaque and it works a treat, also Chemical guys matte detailer works on any vinyl too. I use the matte detailer, it's alright, though next i'll try the swissvax detailer. Be warned, Swissvax is expensive. The main thing is you don't want to use anything that is too abrasive or something that will strip the natural sealant the vinyl has. So that's also a big no to polish. Waxing is fine but as far as i can see Swissvax are the only ones that do a whole range of stuff for matte colours as well as vinyl. Chemical guys maxi suds II supposedly is mild enough to work. Also from what i've read stay away from carnuba wax as it's not good for vinyls or matte colours. Someone on here with detailing experience might be able to help better as i've only learnt this over the last few months trying to look after my wrap!
  6. It isn't that hard to be honest, of course you don't want to polish it or use products with a glossy finish. You do have to get some specialist products. Supposedly the Chemical guys Maxi Suds II is good and is gentle enough it won't eat into the sealant on the vinyl. And also Chemical Guys Matte Detailer works. But Swissvax do a whole range of things for Matte paint, vinyl and Matte vinyl called the Opaque range. At the moment i have the Swissvax Opaque Car Bath and use the Chemical Guys Matte Detailer. The Swissvax is awesome but the Chemical Guys detailer doesn't look like it does much. So next i'll try the Swissvax Opaque Car Detailer. It isn't easy to keep clean, the tiniest of dirt shows up, and after it rains even for just a bit, it will be quite dirty, thought it isn't difficult to use the detailer and a bit of water to clean it up within about 15 mins. Matte White looks nice, Taras had one on an Audi when i pulled up to get mine done and in the flesh they look really good, pictures don't do them justice. I'll give you a PM about costs but the best person to get a quote off is Taras as prices do change a bit in our financial crisis! And thanks for the compliment! To be honest most matte colours are great, it's something different to the glossy and shiney colours we always see. And here is where i'm at with mine, mind the crappy arch rolling at the back, should be sorted soon, which reminds me, i need to get hold of Taras about sorting it out for me!
  7. Lol, i don't want there to be too many matte black 350z's! I got mine done by Taras at RT-Performance, he used a hexis vinyl and it's held up really well. Give him a shout!
  8. Only 1 pic of an HR engine bay, and it's practically standard... can't improve on perfection
  9. Yeah, love the front, not the rear
  10. I get 20.5 mpg but that's because our speed limit around here is 35. I swear it lies to me...
  11. Got an 07 HR model and mine locks itself after a certain amount of time
  12. Hey, at last a fellow Islander. I haven't unfortunately, but i do a know a few guys over there and come over for the occasionally drink Next time i'm over i'll give ya a hollah and meet up!
  13. Thanks for that buddy, will keep my eye on ebay.
  14. Sorry mate! My budget is fairly tiny, only really can afford around £100 with shipping as im squirrelling it away for a Motordyne... and don't worry, you'll be seeing my custom for that!
  15. Thanks for the offer Tarmac, but not really looking for decats as i don't fancy the raspyness.
  16. Tarmac - Thanks for the great offer, but kinda looking for something cheap to keep me happy till i can afford a full system (looking at your Motordyne in fact) So i don't mind if it's not in the best of nick, just something that works and gives me some aural pleasure for the time being. Darren-B - Just the standard exhaust at the moment, was looking at the Cobra, but still too much for something that will only be on for 6 months or less, and looked at new HFC's but then again, still i think they'd be too expensive for such a short time for me. But if anyone has something like a Cobra going cheap or HFC's of any type to fit an HR model, im still in the market to take it off ya!
  17. If anyone has a used exhaust (not OEM) or HFC's let me know! Almost forgot, its for a 07 HR model
  18. Wasso - I didn't know they were welding in the more cats as standard??? I must check up on this as i was hoping to go for resonated at the very least. I might be able to order one with a resonated pipe instead of cats as per DannyBoy's question - read below DannyBoy - Not to worry, as i live in Guernsey... we don't have an MOT Tez162003 - Yeah unfortunately it was the only way to go to get them to fit, i got some 10mm hubcentric Eibach spacers with extended studs. Should be good from all the reviews about the quality of Eibach from everyone here. To be honest i wanted the TE37 Tokyo Time Attacks but alas these would set me back around 3 or 4 grand! Also about the rear arches... well took it too a reputable custom workshop (unfortunately the only one around here) who said he used the Eastwood rolling tool... and that's how it's turned out, so thankfully since i know him, he said he will rectify the problem, except i need to get some wrapping as we will need to take off the original one and clean it up with filler and stuff and re-apply. So a few more months and it'll look proper, and the side effect of that is i can blend it in with the rear bumper better and fit the 10mm spacers on the back too.
  19. That's cool mate, each to their own, always wanted matte black myself! And compared to all the sheds that run around where i live, its a darn sight different Both are ET22's the back fits fine, but the front's needed 10mm spacers to clear the brakes, so i really should have gone with ET12's. Tho i will be fitting 10mm spacers on the back soon as it would fit the car better as the fronts are sitting slightly further out than the back's from looking at it. Lol not that expensive! My plan is to go for a Motordyne TDX V2 exhaust then get some PPE Long Tube Headers, but have to wait on that one as they haven't made them in RHD models but they have said they will be testing some in Australia early next year i believe and i've put my name down as the first on the list to get one. That system should be running me around £2000 or something, so a helluva lot cheaper and the increases in BHP are a lot bigger from what i've been reading on the MY350Z forums. Of course i'll be getting Abbey to tune it all as well after.
  20. Well this was very much delayed! Varrstoen's on with 10mm spacers on the fronts Problems with the wheels fitting the Brembo's, i will be posting up a guide to that later on so any who buys the Varrstoens knows what to go for as i had to pay out 100 quid more to get them to fit. I am going to put on 10mm spacers on the backs soon but as you can see the rolling of my rear arches didn't go so well so gotta sort that out, and i fancy getting the front's rolled and pulled slightly so i can get them lower a bit more. Only a 10mm drop on the back and 5mm on the front so not much after all that. But she is looking amazing, i'll get some better shots for you guys. Dunno what to do next... I'm thinking of a very expensive manifold back exhaust system...
  21. Absolute best bike i've ever rode, until i totalled it, but i would have another if i had the cash, sad to see you're selling it, can't rate it enough Mine was matte black tho... much more ninja
  22. Love it, currently the father runs around in a tdv8 RRS and has served us really well. And we were definitely looking at an upgrade with the new rangies. Completely new, with the JLR chassis saving a massive 420kg i believe, so lighter, more efficient, faster and more dynamic hopefully! (Gonna see if i can persuade him into buying a 5.0l Supercharged ) Taken it off roading pretty much everywhere, only time we used different tyres was when we went to Morrocco and went sand duning and off roading around there. Car's only problem throughout was a clogged air filter. Keeps chugging along at home to, does loads of motorway miles as my Dad loves to drive everywhere. Also, fun thing about it when on the motorway is when some chav mobile thinks he can undertake... he can't
  23. For me its changing starting off in 1st that's a pain, getting into 2nd is not as bad, but still pretty crappy when you don't get the clutch and revs just right. All other gears are fine. I do find pulling away in 1st at about 1500rpm seems to be the best, and if not, it takes ages for the car to get moving at anything less as the clutch takes a long time to engage and settle.
  24. Pretty much as the title says, seen a few about over here, so just wondering if any of them were on here.
