  1. Just tried to access this through User Control Panel. General Error template->_tpl_load_file(): File ./styles/350Z/template/garage/ucp_garage_options.html does not exist or is empty Please notify the board administrator or webmaster: admin@350z-uk.com I'm not fussed, it's just I thought I'd let you know
  2. I think it would be pretty useful to have one running in the technical/service section. For oil filters, spark plugs, drive belts etc. I can start it off with drive belts, oil filter and washer, compression arm bushes etc.

    Squeak

Well I'll cross my fingers for you that it's the ARB's Although I've changed mine, I have no idea what noise they make when they're knackered!

    Squeak

This noise has been the bane of 350z ownership for me, but I'm back in love. This sound only materialised over 60mph give or take, so for the last 3 months, I've not been over 55mph. And every time I went over 55, I regretted it. It makes a awful racket. The past two weekends, I've been horizontal under the rear of the beast, WD40'ing every bush/joint etc. Got my sockets out, everything's tight (oo err), and the gaps between bushes are the same etc. Just before I gave up WD40'ing for another day, whilst I was under the pax side of the car, I thought, I'll check that heat shield is not flapping around, *check, that's fine, move to driver side, *yep all fine, hang on... cue a good solid swear. Went for a spin, and my smile was from ear to ear. Oh I changed those things a while ago, made sod all difference to my squeak/noise! In all fairness, they weren't the problem. The ones that came off were in the same condition as the ones that went on. But that's a job I won't have to do again. I've done literally everything, as it sounded as it was in the boot. I've removed everything from the boot, reseated trim, made sure trim is seated properly, the 2p trick, faffing with strut covers, tightened spare wheel and tools etc, and I found little anomalies in all of these areas (350z ownership ey!!) but they didn't stop that ****ing noise! And it got me down somewhat. At what speed/situations are you getting your noise? I got mine once I've been over 55, and if the car's really hot. Essentially every time the exhaust moved, I got my noise. It was gravitational if you know what I mean. When the car popped up over a bump, give it a second and the rear settles, I got the noise.

    Squeak

Minor thread resurrection. now fixed. It wasn't anything in the boot. No trim, nothing moving. And nothing to do with rear suspension (which is a relief). It turns out boys and girls, that the exhaust heat shield (underside of boot) is a silly design. On the driver side, the shield extends downwards, my my little Scorpion was resting against it. So, the welds on the backbox edge, rubbed through the heat shield. 'Zorst essentially sat in this little hole which it had created itself, everytime you go over a bump, the backbox moves and jumps out of the hole, makes awful noise, and then slips back in to the hole, and makes an awful noise. So, how did I fix it? I bent the ****er out of the way! No noise I think, I've found and rectified a new noise, I've been googling like a maniac and no-one seems to have had this problem.

Good call, I've PM'd the expert.

    Squeak

Just went and had a lie under the car. I can move the drop links with my finger the thumb easily. Nuts are tight. But the axial movement is very very easy. Should I have lots of (if any?!?!) axial movement of the drop links? I was yanking the crap out of everything, and the only thing with any movement is the drop links.

    Squeak

After doing some searching, I thought I'd go and test it's not anything squeaking in the boot. Tailgate lifters are fine. Tiny parcel shelf is fine. When push on the centre of the 'Z', I get a small high pitched squeak but I really don't think that's the root of my problem. I've settled that it's suspension related.

    Squeak

I've had a little squeaky noise coming from the rear of the beast for a month or so, I'd assumed it was the hatch moving slightly. I'm only getting this noise when I'm giving the suspension a little workout etc. Come home today, nice and warm (ish) so I had the windows down, and I heard, it's not the hatch, it sounds suspension related. This was confirmed as I went over some speed bumps slowly and as the rear moved up, I got my squeak. And it's really really loud, cringeworthly loud. Squeaking and not a nice squeak. So I can have a word with my mechanic at work, what do you think the first thing I should point him towards? Drop links? Bushes? Plus any associated costs (ZMANALEX?) would be great. Thanks.

    MOT

Pootling home from work the other day, for some reason alarm bell went off in my head "MOT!!!". Got home (t'was the 6th), checked, it expired on the 7th. Booked her in as I got to work, and for the third time in a row (it's an 05/55) , flew through with no advisories. I do love my Zed!

    Wheels and that

Pm replied to Alex. H5 - Yeah I get you, I've seen some nice deals about but in my heart of hearts, I wanted to stay as standard as possible. I'll have to see if Alex can make my day!

    Wheels and that

Oh Alex, you're not going to tempt me with those GT4 ones are you?
  14. jamesyj

    Wheels and that

Price to be honest. I need tyres all round. My current wheels are kerbed (badly) by the previous owner. I'd prefer some nice fresh wheels and tyres rather than buying some tyres and then in 6 months time for example buying some wheels, and then having to buy some tyres again. I'd ideally want some Rays (the normal optional ones) but none seem available

    Wheels and that

It's time for new tyres all round. So... I thought I might mash the credit card and treat myself to some new wheels at the same time as I've only got standard ones. I'd like to keep the price down as we all would really! I quite liked the Ultralite Atec, but pants offsets. I just spoke to a really helpful chap at Rare Rims, I've been quoted basically £800 for some 18 "Rota Torque or GTR's (I'd prefer Bronze. I've got a Kuro Zed so it'd look aswesome). They'd be 8.5" front and 9.5" rears. What tyre sizes should I go for to maintain the rolling radius? Also what would be the ideal offet? I'd just like them to sit nicely really as I haven't got a front lip etc, standard exterior, which is the way she'll be staying. Any pictures of them in 18" on a Zed would be beautiful also! Thanks guys.
  16. That looks absolutely awesome! 370's are growing on me!
  17. I'm glad you didn't go for the white one. I work for a Vauxhall dealer so I'm on VXRonline all the time and I saw your thread recently. A while ago, we were selling them for £22,888 and there were a very very limited amount in white. Circa 5-7 in white, 90 odd in Evoke, 110 in Phantom Black etc. Because of that, white is fairly rare and dealers charge the earth for them. Regarding Insignia VXR's, Archie Moss are indeed knocking them out at £25k ish. But they bought 30 odd a few months ago and they have spent a while trying to shift them so if anyone was tempted with one, haggle, they really need to get rid of them. Oh, and don't kerb Insignia VXR 20's if you can help it. They're a bitch to refurb and cost £427+VAT (ish) each new.
  18. Congratulations dude! To lose your virginity and buy a 370z in the same day, definitely worth starting a thread about!
  19. I can do mate, as I do live in the same village after all! Rabiata Red VX220 right? Used to have a very pretty Clio V6?
  20. Bit of an update, pads arrived this morning. Fitted at work this afternoon. Job done! 10 points to CS for sorting me out, again
  21. Paid 10k for a 05 55 Kuro GT with 29k in December 2008. T'was a bargain.
  22. I'm told Mitz is quite the looker! Thanks Chilli, Mitz is going to get me a set out.
  23. I think it's going to be CS to the rescue, as per usual! Probably going to go for Redstuff.
  24. Just heard a slight rubbing from the passenger rear, after a quick hunt around this invaluable forum, all the signs point to the inner rear pad about had it's day. So I'm in need of a new set of rear pads. I've only got standard discs and pads all round so don't need anything too menal, just some up to the job OEM spec will be fine. What would one recommend?
