  1. There were 2 woodruffs in place which he showed me but I think just one on that pulley on the slot further forward not in the damaged slot, if that's what your asking
  2. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated Would you consider the car safe to drive until repaired?
  3. Didn't think if like the colour but that looks great Not a fan of the back tho sorry
  4. Here's the pics. Crank case cut: Damage to the crank once pulley removed. There's a hole through it and looks like it's been welded:
  5. What were you trying mate? I don't think you'll be happy with a lip after running that one What about adding a different lip onto the ings? Or the vizage one jay had was nice. If you wanna be different how about the stillen or bomex?
  6. And from the thread on the other forum. I'm defo more optimistic than yesterday morning
  7. Not really mate a few tweaks but not big power. Was just getting it running properly and looking the way I want it. It's a rolling project with bits n bobs as I go along. It's just rolling down a bumpy hill now
  8. Im getting another 2 opinions and he's encouraged me to do so. He's speaking to the first himself If the engine is that bad then if it does go bang I'm in the same situation as I am now so that's an option I'm considering Iv seen rb25s go for 800-1500 but the thing is a new engine won't have a guaranteed history. If I do go for a new engine il be going for something different not another rb25. I like being different. But I'm hoping I have some time before I decide
  9. Not sure exactly what part was repaired but there was play in the pulley. He said the timing would be constantly changing while driving
  10. Sorry forgive my lack of technical knowledge iv probably not been too accurate but it was towards the front and as you say it's even running fine so fingers crossed
  11. Yea il get pics up today when I receive them There's a few other rusty niggles with the car and the mechanic said it could turn out to be a right money pit if I keep it going hence sell or strip and put the cash towards a new car But iv slept on it now and can't bring myself to strip it or sell it cheap. I bought this car so I could remain in the modded jap scene and the only car that I would consider as it's replacement is my old zed. But iv no idea of the condition of that I should be able to get the crank replaced but if it costs too much in labour il get a v8 lump instead. If it means putting it into storage until I find the cash required then so be it Im in this for the long haul
  12. Me too vik Kris and Sam yea I'm thinking either run it til it goes bang then go for something different or just biting the bullet and getting it repaired. Just waiting on 2 opinions tomorrow then take it from there. Fingers crossed...
  13. Gary he saw it from the front when removing the pulleys/belts Waiting to hear from the specialists before deciding on what to do
  14. Iv had it over 2 years. Overall it runs well considering what we found He's gonna call the skyline specialist himself to avoid me getting info wrong
  15. Exactly mate. I couldn't believe it when he told me I thought I didn't like this car as much as the zed but I was proper gutted today
  16. I have thought about ignoring it but the mechanic advised not to. I will get a bit more for stripping it but it's the time and hassle. And it looks too good to break
  17. Thanks guys. Il get pics up later. There were a couple of bits cut. Bought the car from jdm garage who took it in as a trade in. It was a track car at some point Col yea iv seen some cheaper but it's the same with a replacement engine- you never know the true history It's not just the cost of the engine it's the labour costs on top. It will quickly mount up to the cars value if not more. I have considered a different engine but the cost will be higher and less predictable I'm so pi**ed off the car was taking shape nicely...
  18. Got back from Rome yesterday and was looking forward to posting pics of the colosseum etc. Didn't think id be posting this.... Gutted doesn't even begin to describe it... The car was in the garage for a new timing belt and some cosmetic upgrades but the mechanic discovered some cowboy work underneath He was struggling to remove the pulleys and once he did he found the crank had been cut with an axle grinder and welded together- poorly There is a skyline specialist fairly close who I'm gonna call later for some advice but it looks like it's not worth it to keep going. Not the news I was expecting but he did have the heart to tell me once I got back and not ruin my holiday Couldn't have came at a worse time with show season just starting...
  19. Sending mine off tomorrow. Il update with the end result
  20. 1. Terminator 2 2. Step brothers 3. Saw 1. Will Ferrell 2. Will Smith 3. Denzel Washington
  21. Sorry to hear that mate.... At least his suffering is over and he got what he wanted I usually tell people to stay strong during these difficult times but judging by your long detailed posts you seem to be coping well
  22. Red ftw Against darker wheels:
  23. Funny mate but that's not like you- you actually had some positives in there!
  24. A lot of new cars have that these days- never know why??
