That's true. I was in Florida in September and luckily had bought currency a wee bit in advance, got a rate of about 1.85 which was pretty good at the time. It then plummeted not long after. (and yes, had to buy an extra suitcase to take the clothes/shoes/bags back with me )

I love Tenerife, been many times and know it pretty well, whereabouts were you staying? The Euro/GBP rate is abysmal just now, can't believe it was that much for a drink!

Sorry, should have made it clear that my comments were more directed to the OP. I think the switching for shows etc is a good idea At the end of the day, like i said, it's a shady/grey area and it's up to the individual what potential hassle/risk they are prepared to accept. Every geographical area is different too in terms of police attitude.

Did you get a copy of the receipt/signed paperwork? See what it's like on Saturday, have a good look over. If you are not 100% happy then do not pay the balance, you are in a strong bargaining position and it will be much easier to sort out now rather than later. One thing i would say as a bit of a 'btw' - if you are purchasing anything at all over £100, ALWAYS pay be credit card. Especially in these times of companies going under left, right and centre.

It's a shady area.... But in all reality, I think that you would be likely to get stopped for that. And we could argue all day about whether it's strictly illegal, but is that really going to help you when faced with policeman/court/etc. It's sad but true Sometimes it's just not worth the hassle, but that's for you to decide.

My Mum didn't want me to go! My Dad did say when I got transferred back that I was the first guy he'd known to go to Russia for so long and not come back with a Russian wife! Fab location, looking good I agree the front needs lowering more, would look even better - but as you say it's always a balancing act between looking good and practicality (unforftunately, damn speed bumps!).
