  1. Been thinking about doing this too, but i cant think of a colour i think will go with the car and the seats (tan). The other more expensive option was to cover the lot in leather with orange double stitching... that will cost a lot more wonga though!
  2. Well after a good hour or so of prodding around with a telescopic magnet this morning with no luck i had to strip the whole thing down, the worst part was removing the lower of the two rubber hoses that go to the throttle body as they had never been off before. I lost some skin taking that off but apart from that it wasnt too bad. The washer had rolled back slightly as my parent house live on quite a steep street, but i was obvious when the cam cover came off it was just sitting there laughing at me . Car is back together now, i've checked all the hoses i removed and they are all connected properly and all the nuts and bolt are tightened so hopefully all should be well. On the plus side fitting a plenum spacer should take half the time now
  3. Bought mine a few months back when i was 25, now 26!
  4. Cheers guys, im going to put a magnet in a plastic bag and try dropping it into the car with a bit of string tomorrow. if that fails then it will be cam cover off. Cheers for the offer alex, how would i get in touch with you?
  5. I was removing the engine cover this evening to investigate an oily smell, I removed all the bolts that hold the cover in place. I tried to remove the cover but couldn't get it past the filler cap so I removed the cap. While sliding the cover forward I heard something drop into the filler cap. Naturally I was deflated and gutted. It was one if the large washers from under the cover. I know better than to start the car, so I had a good look around the engine bay but couldn't find the washer, so it's almost certainly gone into the head. Has anyone got any experience removing the cam cover? From what I can see i will need to remove the plenum, intake, and right hand cam cover. I'm hoping to get the cover off and it will just be sitting there!
  6. I'm going to be buying a full v1 kit when i get my bonus from work in about two months, just wondering whom is the best bet these days? Can some of the traders give me some prices including the spoiler please. Nath.
  7. Yup had the same problem with mine, took out the unit and remove the white ribbon cable under the cassette player, te- fitted it and its fine now.
  8. So say i had a promlem with say my engine where would i post? I do think the forum could do with a sub forum for people having general problems.
  9. I'm a member of quite a few forums but i have to say i find the 350z-uk one difficult to navigate. I'm not here to step on anyones toes or anything but to offer some positive critisism. If you take a look at http://www.fccuk.org/forum for instance i find the layout superb and it is easy to navigate to the relevant section. Say if i had a problem here i dont really know where ot post, i know we have athe technical section but i think it could do with a general maintenance and technical issues adding to it.
  10. I think your going to need an agressive kit and the power to back t up to pull off decals like that!
  11. My stereo has rescently started dropping the left and sub channel while playing cd's which has been really annoying me. As a temporary solution i worked out very technically trhat if i wacked the bose unit to the left of the cassette player then then the left/sub channel would come back... all be it untill the next bump in the road or whenver it felt like. I did the Aux in mod to my stereo the other day and while i had the unit apart i though it see if i could work out the intermittent fault. i looked for connections to the left of the stereo coming from the cd player and found a white ribbon cable. I pulled out the cable and firmly pushed it back into the connector and i am pleased ot say that the problem has gone away. I didnt take any pics but i found these from the aux in guide, the white ribbon cable is in the red circled area, you cant miss it. Dont know if anyone else had any problems like this but if you do then give this a try . Nath
  12. I bought this from Rtbiscuit a few months back with the plan to get the full Greddy kit, i've had a change of plan so i dont need the lip anymore. The lip was damaged when i bought it but was professionally re-bonded and is as good as new. Obviously in the pics you can see where it has been joined but when the lip is prepped for paint the bond will be covered anyway. I have fitted this to my car as well as when btbiscuit fitted it to his and it fits pefrectly. These are £259.36 new from Z-Store so here's your chance to save yourself a few quid. http://www.z-store.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=8550&ParentCat=230 Im open to offers but am looking to make back what i paid for it so offers around £180. Nath.
  13. Just did this to mine, i have an original cd and the same song playing through my ipod and i cant notice the difference between them. i'm very happy While i had the dash out i ran all the cables ready for the 7" sat nav that im building for the top cubby, should be able to play the music, videos and nav sounds throught the car's speakers
  14. Will it be possible to get an audio out from the unit or will it just be via the speaker? I was thinking of removing the speaker and wiring it into the bose unit doing the aux in mod. Not sure how good the sound quality will be but surely better than the cheapo speaker. Nathan
  15. Cheers for the reply mate, I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to do this myself. I'd buy one of your ready made ones but I like doing projects like this especially as it is for the car and looks so good. I'd like to add a link to my headunit to use the gps as a storage device/media centre and change the ui a little but other than that I'm going to be doing the same as everyone else. I'm sure I'll be posting more questions when the unit arrives and is in bits though! nath
  16. Hi guys, im going to be doing myself one of these as i fancy a bit of a project. Can Nurrish in particular or anyone else please help with a bit of confusion? I have searched ebay and have found two suitable units from what i can tell Nurrish your using the latter of the two listed below as the software and display resolution are the same. Did the come with the igo software installed or did you "hack" them? GPS 1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/7-GPS-SAT-NAV-Rea ... 7C294%3A50 GPS 2 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-7-HD-Digital- ... 7C294%3A50 Any help would be greatly appreciated. But the second unit seems to have a nicer GUI no?
  17. That would be me (in the pink ) They are Rota Torque Drifts, i spent a long time looking for wheels i thoght would suit. but i decided a dark colour would look best. I'm glad i created a warm patch in your.....wallet! lol! Nath

  19. Got them from envy, they were £1350 with tyres mate
  20. The rear's have a bit of camber on them which im guessing is due to the offset but other than that they are spot on
  21. All on and fitted Took these a few days ago, just before the LED rears arrived, which have made a big difference! Next on thew list, Stubby, Exhaust and Nismo or Gracer kit.... cant make my mind up between them at the moment! Nath
