  1. Very cool! What do you think about the mother board mod? Do you feel it would work?
  2. Thank you! That dash route was my idea also, actually I used that route for my GARMIN! I must confess that the Itouch is very cosy and confortable in the glove box, but I will consider your option soon, cause I feel that changing tracks from there will get on my nerves at some point. Further more, the Itouch is a cool device so why hide it? Cheers! BY THE WAY! I bought a US spec HU to take advantage of an extra tape deck to sacrifice and guess what I found out? US spec HU and Euro spec, as you know, have different connectors on the back. To be more precise, Euro ones are missing the XM radio connector. Well, after opening both HU, I noticed that both US and Euro spec HU have the same motherboard, and only the daughter board is different, as the US spec has one extra connector. My hypothesis is that if you change the daughter board the extra connector would work, allowing us Euro spec guys to usa a USA SPEC PA NIS 11 and similia.
  3. I might not well be the first european to do this mod, but I would like to confirm that YES, this mod does work on 2003-2005 euro spec HU which as you know, do not have the XM radio/external cd-changer connector on the back of the HU, making most fancy ipod connection products such as USA SPEC's useless. I followed this guide carefully: http://my350z.com/forum/audio-video/93941-make-line-aux-your-2003-bose-headunit-step-step-guide-5.html I had never soldered before, nor removed the dash. Overall, a normally skilled artisan as I am should take between 2 and 5 hours to complete the job. I also modded the tape deck, removing an arm and spring, to avoid the need of a tape in the deck. Sound quality is very good in my opinion, and using a normal jack, you can connect any type of mp3, ipod, car pc or whatever. I routed the wire under the gear knob and central tunnel to the armrest glove compartment, where my ipod is docked. Downs are that you have to pick up the ipod to change song. Ask for more details!
  4. I got elsewhere and done what I wanted to do. Thanks anyway!
  5. Hey Rey, I was about to post about this. I have finished adding an aux to the tape deck on a euro spec car yesterday evening. I followed the guide here, where pictures are very clear: http://my350z.com/forum/audio-video/939 ... ide-5.html I have also modded the spring and arm to avoid using a tape at all. Sound quality is very good. If you need more details, contact me!
  6. How about 30£ and shipping is on me?
  7. HU conditions are not the issue. Price is. If anyone has a spare unit sitting in a dark and lonely garage, I'm in. Cheap! And willing to ship to Italy!
  8. I need to know whether this version without cd-changer is a BOSE and if it will be good to replace the BOSE version with built-in 6 cd changer. :icon14: Thank you! :shiftdrive:
  9. Some people in Italy say it won't work becuase of the immobilizer not recogniziong the new unit. Other say the radio frequencies are not the same, hence it will receive less stations. Does anyone here ever bought one out of USA?
  10. Hi, I'm looking for a 2004 BOSE Headunit for sale. The front looks like this: The back must have the 12 pin connector seen here as n°4: Please only mint condition!
  11. Gee guys thanks a lot! I'm 1/4 english by the way...maybe you smelled some kind of british blood in me! Anyway, I have contacted local dealers to see if they wanna chip in with a discount or something, I underlined that it really makes no sense selling a car wired for hands free phone with no hardware, does it? Furthermore, a mate here will be pricing those bits soon... I'll find my way... take care! ciao!
  12. Hi guys. Here in Italy 2004 Zs only have the Bury wiring at stock: - no unit in the glove compartment behind the passenger seat - no phone cradle in the other center compartment - no bluetooth adapter I'm looking for someone who is selling these items. I know that the bluetooth adapter is available in many sites at around 80 quids, nevertheless I need the other two bits to make it work. Cheers Alessandro
