Any ideas guys?

There are aftermarket immobilisers as an option too (if you were to go with the hdev option), or just "forget" to inform them that it isn't there anymore... There are locksmiths in the UK that do work with the JDM frequencies that I've ran into at carshows

Side note I found that the vvt solenoid receptacles are loose on solenoid body. Not sure if this is normal. -

Hello I have a buddy who has asked me to check out and repair his 50000 mile 2007 350z. The intake cam bolt appeared to have back out causing the intake came to come loose and I’m assuming the torque from the rotation of the exhaust cam, snapped the end of cam off. Disassembled and inspected. No timing cove, phaser, phaser cover damage is evident. Used bore scope and found no damage to valves or pistons. Even filled inlet runners with brake clean and none leaked through. Installed a new cam shaft, verified lobe to cup/lifter clearance in Nissan spec. Reassembled using all new timing components and hardware. Performed compression test after reassembly and found all cylinders to have 180+ psi. Started car and in runs extremely rough and will eventually die. Prior to starting made sure to clear all codes. Codes present after starting are p1078 and p0300. Vvt and random misfire codes. Verified all electrical connections and vacuum line routing. Any thoughts? Also car sat apart for 9 months before I was asked to help.

Intake cam failure - valves and pistons look good?
Nosnomis7861 replied to PabloVC's topic in Servicing
What was the outcome of this? Did you replace the cam and timing components? Did the car run fine after? Have the exact issue, checked valves and bore scoped cylinders and found no damage. Even filled inlet ports with brake parts cleaner and it didn’t leak through. Installed new/used cam and reassemble with all new parts. Checked compression and it was @ 180+ on all cylinders. Car has random misfire codes p0300 and vet solenoid codes p1078 I believe. Runs rough then dies. Any reply would be appreciated! - Yesterday

Welcome. I'm no expert but as far as I know replacement BCMs need to be reprogrammed as they store VIN number, immobiliser codes etc. Dealers can usually do it, or there are specialists who can clone them. I'd give a dealer and some cloners a call and seek their advice. Couple cloners below from a quick google. Hi all, Not looking for anything crazy but toying with the idea of a front lip and side skirts or diffusers. 2005 convertible. Subtle and bolt on ideally. Any recommendations and pics appreciated Thanks A

Spoke to the garage today and they have said to bring the car back in for inspection of steering rack. They're confident the pump was bled when fitted, but say they will inspect the steering rack for any tell tale signs it's causing the issue, just to be sure before I start looking for one. At this point I'm pretty sure it is the rack. A second P/S pump tried, and same exact result. Unless there's another possible culprit. I should know after they look at the car on Friday.

Hi all, I have a pre facelift 350z and need to swap the passenger headlight bracket/ side core support. Do I have to take off the front core support to get this off, or is there a way to get it off without needing to remove it?

Hello everyone, I am now the proud owner of a Nissan Fairlady z, my most expensive paperweight so far. I bought the car after an auto electrician stated all it needed was a 'master key'. Wow how simple could it be, roll on the car locksmith. He arrived to find that the transponder chip had not only left the building but also the key so it would have cranked forever without a spark of life. It turns out that he cannot program a transponder chip on a JDM car, different BCM apparently from US and UK markets. I know there is Horsham Developments who can 'remove' the immobiliser from the ECU however I would be struggling to insure the car if this is done. There are second hand BCM's on eBay and I'm wondering if replacing my Japanese one for a UK one would work or is it paired to the ECU. Last resort is Nissan UK as I don't really fancy taken out a second mortgage and I don't know how helpful they would be anyway. I would appreciate any advice regarding the BCM replacement option. Obviously a matching transponder chip with the BCM would be ideal. Regards Andy
