Hey guys, I have posted before about a rattle from the engine, and discovered its the the clutch. This is a fairly normal so no worries there.

Now when is car is warmed up and parked i can hear another rattle. This is with the clutch disengaged. It increases with the revs, and only makes a noise at a certain RPM (lower down). Its coming from the engine area. I asked my mechanic about it and he didn't seem to worried. Could this be a thrust bearing?

Also my car is 57plate HR. and does't appear to have had the spark plugs changed. its currently on 34k. Should this be done asap? or at 50K?

I couldn't really hear it I'm afraid but I'm not great at diagnosing these noises, hopefully someone will.

You could get it booked in with one of the recommended places on here to help you.

The audio file wouldnt play for me.

Does it have a lightweight fly wheel? They're notoriously loud/grumbly when your foot is off the clutch or driving at low revs.

Update, took it in today. Its actually the left cat rattling. I got underneath and could clearly hear the noise. The chap said its nothing to worry about, but it might be worth looking at replacing some time in the future! :)
