zippypooz Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Hey guys n girls, im thinking about changing my headlights to LED's as i have the standard OEM bulbs in mine. Where the best place to start looking for a set and when changing from bulbs to LED's are they just plug and play or will i need to do a bit of 'tampering'!!! Thanks!! Quote
d95gas Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 IMHO a bad move, why? My son-in-law has his own little business doning all sorts of LED stuff, so gets lots of samples from manufacturers. On a couple of occassion he has got the LED headlight bulbs and we tried them in my MR2. To say the throw was pants, is an understatement. Yes they glowed nice and white, but had no power behind them. As I said, we have tried several, and the one's he gets are generally the top end of the range rather than eBay jobs. I went back to my Osram night breakers. Please bear in my this is only my opinion based on personal use. 1 Quote
zippypooz Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) Hmmm, maybe i should just buy a new set of headlights then lol!! Edited January 11, 2015 by zippypooz Quote
lolzz Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 If you were thinking just of putting the LED bulb in, don't do it. Parabolas were not designed for them and will not work properly. Throw, light distribution and visibility are rubbish. Quote
LRF4N Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 As said above replacement led headlight bulbs are pants Newer generations of headlights in the latest cars use led technology. Not sure how they work Quote
PPod Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 So its not a good idea then lol I know this is a bit off topic but what led's should I get for my bulbs under my headlights (are they called side lights?) Quote
