nixy Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 When I drive at relatively low speed (30 ish) in say 4th gear I can hear a repetative throbbing type noise coming from somewhere. It's one of those noises that could be perfectly normal - any ideas? Quote
Zedrush Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 could just be the vibration from the engin could be massivly wrong, does the gear stick jugger? Quote
lomoto Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 the infamous tyre noise ? have you got Bridgestone tyres fitted ?? Quote
nixy Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 yes i have. I wondered if it was tyre noise, I only hear it when I'm going at a steady slow speed. Do you think that's it then? My son started scaring me by saying wheel bearings! Quote

nixy Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 I can live with the noise until I have to get new ones as long as there's nothing wrong with the car! Quote
Zzzz... Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 but if it is the tyres. should it not happen on any gear, so long as you are doing 30(ish) ? and is it a very specific speed range? For example starts at 30 and dissapears completely at 35mph and does it fade in fade out as you cross a certain speed range? does it happen only on straight line, or does it dissapear when turning left or right or both? Mm, not sure if I can drive and think about all of that at the same time! I'll give it a go when I'm next out. Quote
nixy Posted September 26, 2007 Author Posted September 26, 2007 had another listen out for it today. It's in any gear, louder at low speed then gets better as you get faster and the engine drowns it out a bit. Quote
