Previous owner has cross threaded them and I'm in the middle of fitting spacers and two won't go back on and I won't force them! Reading online 4 out of 5 nuts if torqued correctly, which they are, are perfectly safe to drive on short term?!? Cheers Buster may well take you up on that. mikejbry Posted November 8, 2014 Share Posted November 8, 2014 I snapped a stud on my 540i, it broke off in the hub, so I went to ecp on 4 bolts to pick up a new hub and a couple of studs.
