Anyone ever fitted a dab stereo and ariel?

Ive decided its time for the original head unit to get taken out. looking to fit a double din with touchscreen, bluetooth and DAB preferably.

 

only thing is, you normally need a different style of ariel for dab, so was wondering if anyone has successfully fitted a dab radio to a 350.

Yes but i hav a DAB and normal radio so 2 ariels the DAB one i placed at the bottom of the wind screen behind the 3 clocks so you can not see it

I have a JVC DAB single din unit.

The aerial is a adhesive windscreen wire one.

Reception is better the more vertical the aerial.

Mine is installed alongside the A pillar.

Still very discrete.

I replaced the FM aerial with a DAB one because I coulnt get a reliable signal with anything else.

If you want a better signal then go for converter/body mount type further down the page. I don't listen to much music in the Zed so went for the easier option, it's good where the DAB signal is good.

I tried one. Didnt work in the Z. I think maybe because of the FM amp used in the Z.

 

Tbh, I tried glass, splitter etc and couldnt get a reliable signal until I went for a proper body mount.

I lost FM which doesnt bother me but you can get combined FM and DAB body mount ones

10 out of 10 for me.

Have never had any burble or signal loss. Drove from Chester to Anglesey the other weekend and kept signal all the way.

thanks for the replies guys, going to go with the converter/body mounted ariel that evansjd has. seem pretty neat.

 

I take it a double din head unit will fit straight in, or do i have to buy a separate facia?

You'll need a fascia adapter plus converter cables..

also, anyone got a wiring diagram for the bose sub? Trying to figure out what each cable is. there is a 24pin plug and an 8 pin plug. tried scanning the forums and search engines but no-one seems to have a clear cut answer!
