DiggZ Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Hello all, Found this site a few weeks back and read some good advice so far. Picked up my gunmetal GT coupe a couple of months ago, been waiting impatiently for the rain to go away but lately been enjoying the recent dry weather Have to say Im loving the car so far even though 4 new tyres were needed a couple of weeks back (ouch - but worth it!). Even after two months the sound of the exhaust still brings a daft grin to my face. Not sure if I will ever go back to diesel after this. Now for some frienldy advice if you will....P1 service is due soon and not to keen on taking it to a dealers, Id prefer to take it to someone who knows what theyre doing. Does anyone know of any good independent garages in the Newcastle/Durham area? Car is outside of warranty now but would like to keep good history in the book if possible. Many thanks Chris Quote
xStric9x Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Hi Diggz Welcome to the forum Tbh dealer services are very reasonable if you shop around, and always much better when you come to sell the car......FNSH Quote
Sarnie Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Bigphil is a trader and right in your area so drop him a pm as he may be able to help out Quote
JimmyJam75 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Welcome !! Same advice as above... shop around the dealers, as the prices vary a bit. Quote
nixy Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 hello and welcome to the site. there are a few people on here from your area that should be able to advise. What about Envy? They are North East. Quote
M13KYF Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 to the forum as said before, shop around the dealers for the best price, personally I think a FDSH is important come re sell time Quote
DiggZ Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 Cheers for the advice, dealers it is then. Will make a few phone calls, what sort of price should I be looking at for a good deal? Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hi and A good price for a P1 service from a non Nissan dealer I would have thought would be around £80 - £100. Quote
mbs Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 hello and welcome, my P1 service at the local dealer was £109+vat Quote
bronzee Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Welcome, welcome. Hope you're enjoying your Zed. Quote
DiggZ Posted September 17, 2007 Author Posted September 17, 2007 Thanks all, Been quoted two prices from main dealers so far: £176 and £187 (although both said will do it for £150 [as if theyre doing me a favour]). Seems steep for what is essentially an oil change Quote
M13KYF Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 unfortunately it's the labour is the main cost but compared to some brands with the same performance this is still cheap Quote
Beavis Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Thanks all, Been quoted two prices from main dealers so far: £176 and £187 (although both said will do it for £150 [as if theyre doing me a favour]). Seems steep for what is essentially an oil change Agree with Mike, and infact the 2 prices you mention are what i paid for the P1 and P2 respectively. Quote
DiggZ Posted September 17, 2007 Author Posted September 17, 2007 Hmm, seems prices tend to vary massively from area to area. Looks like if I can get it for £150 thats not too bad then Quote
xetexuk Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Gosh the prices for servicing on this thread seem very reasonable. After a test drive yesterday, and upon enquiring on the prices for servicing, I was quoted £231.61 for P1, £312.50 for P2 and £354.65 for P3. Why so much more for the same work? I don't get it. Quote
