  1. I have a brand new passenger side wing mirror which I no longer need. Originally bought to replace my damaged unit which has since been repaired. Full wing mirror unit, mount and wiring connectors, and is finished in Gunmetal having been newly sprayed. PM me if interested before this goes on ebay. Looking for £150, these are around £400 supplied from the dealers Cheers Chris
  2. Sorry I should have updated this earlier, now sold
  3. Indeed, have located a few engines, rang a few places but not convinced so far... Spoke to Lee and he is on the case but we shall see what develops tomorrow. I have a decent price with the local specialists for an engine with 8.5k and 12 month parts and labour warranty included which isnt the cheapest option but sounds reasonable and sensible. Anyone any experience of what this will do to resale value if I go down the engine replacement route with warranty and history etc? Would replacing a 68k engine with an 8.5k engine increase its sell-on value etc? Cheers Chris
  4. Cheers, will see what can be sorted. Not been a good week all in all, but things could always be worse
  5. Now then, some things just turn out too good to be true....... To cut a long story short I bought my Z a couple of years ago with an lpg conversion already fitted. Seemed a good compromise and I did some homework on it which didnt flag up any warning lights - full history, installation records etc. Have had a few engine lights on of late, mostly intermittent, checked coil packs, plugs etc and couldnt find anything obvious. After doing a bit more investigation couldnt quite pinpoint or fix the problem. I wasnt happy with it so took it into the garage last week hoping it would be a simple fix but after running compression tests and other diagnostics decided to investigate further... In summary the extra heat and dryness of the lpg has knackered the valve seats on the engine, amongst other things. Just got back from the garage after having a long look at it, not good news and it either needs a rebuild or a replacement engine. Rather than a rebuild route I think Im going to source a replacement as theres no way of knowing if theres any more damage been done unless its completely stripped down. Current mileage is 68k, so Ive explored a few options and prices to replace it with an engine circa 20k miles and covered under a limited warranty. Suffice to say the lpg system will be coming off straight away and the car going back to standard form asap. No warranty remaining on the car or the lpg Can anyone help or point me in the right direction of where I should be looking? At least the sun is still shining outside! Cheers Chris

    Door Sill Plates

Hi, just the standard plastic ones
  7. Have two new sill plates for sale if anyone is interested? Both new and in plastic bags. Have photo which I can PM - not sure how to upload on here Cheers Chris
  8. Cheers, had it in the garage yesterday and it seems to be running low on one of the cylinders Should they all be running at 185 or thereabouts? i.e. is there an acceptable range?
  9. Cant find a post with this on anywhere but found some info on the net. Is 185psi the correct standard cylinder pressure on a UK Zed? Cheers
  10. Cheers guys, had a chat with Lee earlier and have also dropped a PM to Blackhawk so will hopefully get this one sorted
  11. Always been a fan of the R32s, looks a cracking example

    Need a new car

Ive just dropped the price on my Z, not sure if its what youre looking for but might be of interest? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1101627.htm Wish I could afford to keep her but need to put my sensible head on, for a little while anyway... Cheers Chris
  13. Have a standard rear strut brace cover available with a few scuff marks from bags etc left on it by the previous owner. I replaced this with newer cover but this one might be suitable for carbon fibre wrap etc...? Will get some photos posted up if this is of interest to anyone?
  14. Nobody able to help? I just need the plastic trim so any colour of mirror will do if anyone has a scrapped one lying around...?
  15. Must all be miserable gits where I live, nothing back, maybe Ive got an aggressive wave? :bye:
  16. I need a black plastic external trim and mount for a passenger side wing mirror (some little scrote kicked it off but thankfully the mirror unit itself is OK). Unless anyone has a full mirror and mount going cheap (gunmetal)? Cheers in advance.
  17. Did a search earlier and the going price seems to be around £400 from Nissan. Im absolutely steaming, whats the point? They caught one of the lads apparently so will be interesting to see what happens, Ill still need to pay to get it sorted though or go through insurance Theres a blue wing mirror on ebay which looks like the mount is attached, so maybe theres a way round it.
  18. Some little scrote decided it would be a good idea to kick the wing mirror off my car in the middle of the night. Police are now involved as it seems theyve gone on a little vandalism spree around the estate Anyway, the mirror itself is intact but the black plastic connection casing to the door has been snapped, so its now hanging loose by the cable. Now I need to disconnect the mirror until I can get this sorted so I can drive. Ive taken the screws out but cant get into the mirror itself, dont want to force it open so I presume there is a plugged connection which I can disconnect somewhere inside the door panel? Cheers Chris
  19. The only other thing which it needs is an extra service every year for the lpg system which is around 60-70 quid You lose a tiny bit of boot depth as the tank sits a little higher than the spare wheel normally would Without losing the use of the boot theres not really enough room for the spare wheel, so I carry a compressor around instead in case of puncture, I suppose you could use runflats instead Thats about it really, and it also helps having a local lpg filling station nearby of course
  20. No probs... The tank is 79 litres which fills to around 56 litres leaving room for the expansion. I get around 240 miles from a full tank Performance wise, I cant really tell much of a difference if Im honest, there seems to be a little more bite when running on petrol but for normal driving theres nothing between them.
  21. Evening chaps, LPG convert and guilty party here... Its an interesting one, I can see why its not for everyone but has worked well for me as I enjoy driving the Z but used to do quite high miles until recently so its kept my fuel costs down. The conversion was already on the car and was the main reason I bought the Z as Id always liked the cars but going from a diesel would have been too thirsty for everyday long distance driving. Tax is around 10% lower but its obviously the fuel which makes the difference in running costs. Ive not had another car on gas so cant comment on previous experience. Ive been advised that certain cars e.g. Mazda, Honda and VW TFSI engines arent recommended for converting due to problems with the valves. They installed whats called a flashlube system on the Z which keeps the valves lubricated as lpg is quite a dry fuel. Any questions fire away. Cheers Chris
  22. No probs, Ive been meaning to get mine refurbed for a while but havent got round to it as yet. Let me know what they say
  23. I may be wrong but thats what they told me over the phone when I rang a while back, drop the motor in first thing in the morning and would be ready to pick up late afternoon. Havent taken mine in for refurbing yet so cant say 100% but its worth finding out
  24. Cant help with the spare wheels Im afraid but depending on where you are, Romax at Stockton on Tees can turn it round inside a day to refurb a set of wheels
