stanski Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Just wondered if anyone knew the physical size of the engine and its weight? Quote
skahigh Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Probably varies between the three versions? You might need to be more specific. Quote
WhackyWill Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Why ...with or without ancillaries, with or without oil and fluids.. As above..!! :surrender: Quote
stanski Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Sorry have this crazy idea about fitting one into my VW Baywindow camper ? Obviously a lot of work but just curious? So not bothered about which version just a rough idea of size (if it fits in the original engine bay) and weight if it weighs 15 tonnes then not worth the trouble? Quote
samsniss350z Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 VQ35DE block height =215mm whilst the HR engine is taller hence the bonnet hump. Its difficult to answer your question about weight as Will mentions, a lot depends on whether you're asking for a completed engine weight and with or without fluids. Quote
The Chubby Ninja Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I'd imagine it will be a complete engine with fluids as I don't think he's planning on fitting an engine and not using it Quote
Flex Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) From das US forum 'VQ35 long block including intake manifold, no accessories - 313lbs weighed on a recently calibrated auditing scale with supposedly accurate to within +/- 0.5lbs' So 142kgs, does that sound right?
